Hello All!

Skinner!! He is clearly struggling with his decisions of late. He wants to do the right thing but also wants to keep his job and stay alive! Scully is PASSIONATE about finding Mulder, understandably and she saves his life, yet again. Hope she remembers she saves him too! Its a mutual bond! Tough news about his sister BUT it does keep him motivated to continue the hunt! Saving people, hunting things, the family business...

Much love

Dakara x

In this episode, Fox went through such angst and sadness that I liken it to when Scully's father passed (1x13), as she was going through revelations from Lee Boggs and her own guilt/melancholy. But she felt spiritually fulfilled by the end of the episode. So Fox has now renewed his faith that Samantha is still out there.

Don't be to hard on Mulder's father, he probably didn't believe that the woman claiming to be Samantha was legit. He just went along with it because of his wife. We still don't really know what the actual truth behind this situation was. Who are the "white" hats and who are the "black" hats; or are they all shades of gray? We only have what we've been told, by someone who said, "I have no reason to lie.". Flip side of that statement is that she also had no reason to tell the truth. At least not all of it. Skinner is tired of being out of the loop on all of this. He probably knew going in that there would be things that he wouldn't be allowed to question, and he was probably fine with it. He's not fine anymore, and wants answers.

Am I the only one who was waiting for Phil Collins' "In The Air Tonight" to start playing at the beginning of the episode? This is going to be one of my rare criticisms of the show. But I feel like the bridge scene ended strangely. You are right, Mulder definitely would've dove off for Scully. And he also would've dove off for his long lost sister. So when he didn't, I thought it was because he didn't believe it was her. Which threw me for a loop when he then started talking about her as his sister. Also, that river was not that wide or fast moving, and there was no way they wouldn't have found a body. Mulder gave up way too quickly before talking to his dad. I love the episode and the lore it tells and sets up for more. Those parts just really bug me. I think this episode is a turning point for the show, and for Skinner's character.

*Dakara calling everything about there being multiple clones of the woman* *Said prediction comes to pass almost perfectly* Dak, "Oh I am confusion" 🤣 Though, the quote of the day has to be, "When I thought about Mudler pinning her up against the wall, this is not what I had in mind"

The truth is out there Dakara! But there are nine more seasons to go, so you have to be patient.

Yes, a brilliant two parter with Colony. Samantha now tells Mulder about the shape-shifting Alien Bounty Hunter and why he is out to exterminate all of them. Scully now taken prisoner by the Alien Bounty Hunter, Mulder now in an impossible situation (like Sophies Choice) arranges to swap his sister for her. FBI Sharpshooters are in hiding to take out the ABH but it does not go to plan. The swap takes place on a bridge and while Scully is now safe, Samantha and the ABH fall off the bridge Mulder's father gives him a note Samantha had left for him and as a result he goes to a women's health centre in Maryland, and here he encounters the Samantha clones, there he gets a greater understanding of what is really going on. When Mulder disappears, it's Skinner who goes out of his way to find out where he's gone, a brilliant scene with Skinner and X fighting in the elevator, and and injured Skinner goes back to Mulder's flat to tell her where he is. When Mulder goes to Alaska to the sub, again the ABH is there too, and he tells him the real Samantha is alive. We then go full circle to the beginning of Colony with Mulder dying in the hospital and Scully saves him by keeping him cold. Brilliant monologue from Scully at the end, and yes this was a brilliant two parter 10/10, but without spoiling there is even better to come pure 11/10 episodes!
