Hello All!

Skinner focused ep and he did a brilliant job at keeping me engaged! Never doubted him for a second haha. Doing all this for Scully, I adore him and feel sorry for him at the same time. Being forced to do things that question his morals must be so tough!

Bees of course very important in the overall arc of the X-Files. The postal worker who had sneaked into the toilet for a cigarette is killed by numerous bee stings, though there were no bees to be found when the body is discovered. Before they can even begin to look into the case, somebody is erasing the evidence in the toilet and also the blood samples taken from the victim. The person doing the erasing surprisingly is Assistant Director Skinner who seems to have made some sort of pact with the Cigarette Smoking Man in exchange for Scully's life. Great scene when Mulder arrives around to Skinner's flat and sees Skinner with the bag thinking it's trash. CSM kills the cop, which Skinner is furious over. Mulder of course knows he was impersonated, and Skinner realises his gun has been used. CSM of course is blackmailing Skinner over Scully's life being saved in exchange for Skinner's help. The Scientist gets stung to death too. Mulder knows the blisters are from Smallpox which seems to carried by the bees. Disturbing scenes in the playground with the kids and parents getting stung. As we know Mulder isn't stupid and confronts Skinner. Great scene when Skinner points gun at CSM and lets rip, then of course we see Cancer Man on the phone to the mysterious, but 'suss' Marita Covarrubias from the United Nations, who we have of course seen before throughout the show. Another brilliant episode keeping up the quality of S4.

Bees will make a hive is some very unlikely places. Walls seem to be favorite. Using bees as a delivery system for a virus is pretty interesting, but not that practical. Bees are docile for the most part, becoming aggressive only when the colony is threatened. That Skinner was willing to go as far as he did for Scully says a lot! Of course we know that the Devil has quite a lot of tricks up his sleeve, and will never leave anything to chance. It stood to reason that the Smoking man had another pawn on the board. That it was the lady from the U.N. was a surprise. With any luck, the virus at the school will prove short lived

Loved this reaction! Theepisode felt somewhat of a hybrid. Not entirely mythology based. Also just remembered 5 year old me crying to my mum about how a fly had bitten me and her calmly removing a bee stinger from my swollen thumb lol.
