Hello All!

The Lone Gunmen origin story has arrived! Such a fun episode and made me love these guys even more. They all have their own skillsets and personalities that shine when on screen, great chemistry between the group. Always fun to see old school Mulder too and amazing appearance by Mr X! Look forward to seeing more from them.

Much love

Congratulations, you've made it through 100 episodes of the X-Files! Only 118 and two movies to go. :)

Again no other show is able to pull off back story like The X-Files. Another brilliant one by Vince Gilligan here with The Lone Gunmen the focus of the episode along with the mysterious Susanne Modeski. A great start here in 1989 with TLG being confronted by Govt covert operatives, and Mulder shaking half naked. Just love the Computer Expo backdrop, and the hostility and comedy with Frohike and Langly. Love the atmosphere in it, and yes the computer expos were just like that back then. Byers is besotted by Modeski, and drags the other guys into it. Do we believe Modeski or not, with Mulder trying to track her down. Great intrigue here with the guys eventually working together, and Modeski has them convinced. Then we go full circle to the start with Mulder being shot at by Black Ops guys and Modeski manages to kill them over the chemical tablets, and then X makes his 1989 appearance, was just waiting for you to see him. When Byers confronts X about JFK, and he says 'I heard it was a Lone Gunman' I remember when I first watched it and thought it was so clever to get their name from that. Great scene at the end with X taking Modeski off the street, and the TLG telling Mulder about the search for the truth as the camera pans up and away. A superb episode. Quick mention for Richard Belzer who plays the Detective here, he was of course in 7 Seasons of Law & Order S.V.U. as Det. John Munch, we have him here after Kritschgau actor John Finn who played Det. Stillman in Cold Case for 7 Seasons also. I think Vince Gilligan really came into his own in S5 with some brilliant episodes like this.

Loved you reaction. I completely forgot about this episode, it was a lot of fun to watch. Richard Belzer's Detective Munch started out on "Homicide: Life of the street", then moved to "Law and Order/SVU". He was a great character, and perfect for the episode. He was a bit of a conspiracy theorist, but way more grounded than this bunch. It stands to reason that the guys knew each other Loved that Frohicke and Langley were like two thirds of the three stooges. So many things just seemed to fall together; meeting Mulder, Mister X, and a high level government conspiracy. You have to wonder, though, was that whole event staged just for them?

"WHAT?!" Haha. Loved Mulder's reaction and how green he was at the end too. The Lone Gunmen do have a spin off show though Dak. A single season of thirteen episodes did get off the ground. It's pretty good. I'd actually recommend watching it between seasons 8 and 9 of The X Files, as it does fit into continuity, adds depth and isn't just a throwaway project.
