More Scully and Mulder time which I live for. You can see how relieved Mulder is to have Scully back at his side but typical Mulder, not willing to communicate about it and typical Scully eye rolling his behaviour! Creepy red eyes in this one! You have been warned!

This one was unusual in that it was a mixture of The Jersey Devil, Darkness Falls and the movie Predator, as they are hunting for a strange creature, it's set in the deep forest, and it's all elusive as The Predator the way it moves and can disguise itself. It's more like a S1 episode, that being said it is quite entertaining especially at the start with the enthusiastic Agents looking forward to the conference, and Scully just going along with it but could't really care less and Mulder would rather be anywhere else than some boring talking shop. He of course gets his chance when the cops stop the car and he gets out and gets involved. The red eyes are actually very creepy and add to horror element of the episode. An OK episode and a slight break from the previous ones very much an old style MOTW type episode.

Nice reaction. There may actually be some truth to the idea that there is intelligent life out in the deep woods and swamps. Florida Fish and Game officers speculate that there may be colonies of chimps that have escaped from zoos, circuses, traveling carnivals, etc, An area like the everglades, or some of the old growth forests in the region would look very inviting to these animals. Of course that's speculation, there's no substantiative evidence to back it up. I loved the interplay in the car. Mulder said it, but I think that Scully agreed, just shoot me now. I saw it when they stopped, Mulder took the opportunity to get out and see what was going on, Scully looked after him with a face that was saying "Don't leave me here!". And when they were stranded in the woods, Mulder made the comment about sharing body heat by being naked in a sleeping bag together, Scully nicely burst that bubble by saying they didn't have a sleeping bag. You can bet anything that Mulder will make sure to have one in the future. Final note: That thing didn't look like any kind of bullfrog I've ever seen.
