Dakara, First: I do not feel that you need to apologise. I am certain that all of us real/proper supporters/followers feel the same as I. We do appreciate that you have uploaded this reaction without skipping a week! Second: For exactly the same reasons as you, I would rather be a mortal in an immortal world. The alternative - watching all those that I love and care about grow old and die, generation after generation (children, grandchildren,...) - would be simply unbearable! Third: Chloe has demonstrated that she fully deserves her nickname - Detective! I was also a bit worried that they might drag this out for 8 episodes, but they did resolve it in appropriate time...

Dakara. On the immortal question, it has long been maintained in various media formats that Immortality is a curse. Even the Lucifer show has covered it in a way with Cain, I mean look what immortality had turned him into, alright he started off bad so maybe not the best example. I would go for mortal, but bear in mind on a mortal world you would be leaving your own loved one to carry on without you. About this episode, yes it's a killer when you get to thinking that Chloe has bought into Michael's lie. But when she shoots him is one of my favourite scenes. I don't know what your knowledge of angels and the heavenly host is but Michael is one half of the Demiurge. He is the power of god whilst Lucifer is the will of god. This makes Lucifer and Michael the two most powerful beings in the universe after God and the Divine Goddess. Michael's stance is a result of his being injured when Michael was casting Lucifer out of heaven, at least that's the mythology in the Sandman/Lucifer verse. Tom Ellies's performance as Lucifer and Michael has been absolutely on point. Especially when portraying Michael being Lucifer, because of the subtle irregularities in character that only an imposter would make. As for the accent, in an interview during or after season one Tom said that he originally tried an American accent for Lucifer's dialogue, but it just made Lucifer sound dickish. So apart from the fact that angels represent all races of man and have numerous accents I think that's why Michael's accent was chosen.

Man I loved this ep. I gotta say tom Ellis is so talented and I'm so excited for you to see him performance this season. Even though he is playing two characters you can just tell the difference. the accent is obvious and when i first saw it, it was so weird to hear tom speak with an American accent but he does it so well! But he carries himself different as Michael and I loved seeing toms performance this season. I was a bit annoyed at maze but she is very angry and upset with lucifer for leaving so i understand why she did it and I'm glad she tried to stop Michael from sleeping with Chloe, because at the end of the day Chloe is her friend. I also liked that everyone found out it wasn't lucifer by the end of the ep and they didn't drag out that storyline, I love the writers of this show sm! also I love Chloe decker. She is just amazing and the fact that she knows lucifer so well and knew it wasn't him, I just love her. Cant wait for you to see what's in store this season.

Dakara, you had me laughing so hard this episode. Favorite line: Chloe - You've grown; You - In his pants. 🤣🤣🤣 You are correct about the writers. They love parallels. Watch for them with Lucifer and Michael. White wings/Black wings. Desire vs Fear. Lucifer drinks colored liquors with his right hand. Michael drinks clear ones with his left. This is a really good season but it will be a rollercoaster. I love this episode because I loved the way Chloe played Michael. Queen!!!! When 5A dropped, Tom tweeted out the hashtag #michaelisadick. It was awesome. After this episode many changes the hashtag to #michaelhaaadick. 😂😂😂

Thanks Mirko 💙 that’s kind of you to say. I agree, mortal on an immortal world would be a little easier on the heart. Oh 100% she’s so blooming clever. I love her. I’m so so relieved they got to the bottom of Michael quickly, it’s a lot more realistic this way I feel.

Enjoyed your reaction and I'm with you, I'm glad they didn't drag out Michael as Lucifer and Chloe trying to figure it out (although I think if this were still on FOX, that would've lasted a couple of episode). I do like the evil twin thing in this, with Michael and Lucifer being polar opposites. Michael being the supposed "good" angel but can read and play on peoples fears yet Lucifer is the devil and draws on peoples desires and passion.

I have to agree with you. Tom is just fantastic. Maze is so hurt and she makes poor decisions when angry :( I was worried like others that they’d drag the Michael pretending to be lucifer out for the entire season, so relieved they didn’t. I love decker too! Bring on the rest of this season!

To be honest....I think Tom Ellis's American accent...is not good lol. That's just my opinion of course. I think he did a great job embodying the role of a completely different personality(body language, posture etc.), but I struggle with the accent. So, as you would say Dakara, it's a no for me lol. I was pretty relieved that everyone found out rather quickly that it wasn't actually Lucifer. I didn't want them to drag it out all season so thankfully they hashed it out in one episode. Look forward to seeing the rest of your reactions to this season!

As for why Lucifer speaks with an English accent, it has everything to do with Angel self actualization.

I haaaaaate to say it but I’m with you, not a huge fan of the accent BUT like you say, I do think Tom plays the two roles brilliantly. Hahaha it’s a no from you, gotcha 😂 Same, I’d have been annoyed if they made Chloe out to not twig he was different. Hope you enjoy what’s to come :)

Good reaction. I was so glad that Chloe figured it out, and that it didn't take forever. But, I did not like the Michael twin thing at all. I could get behind an evil brother, but couldn't he have just been able to change his look, instead of being a twin? And why is one shoulder so much higher than the other, like a hunchback? Tom does do a very good job, though.

@rtozier2011 That's a good point! However, the accent just made me cringe a bit everytime I heard it in this episode lol. Maybe it's because I'm from America that it sounds off to me or perhaps I'm being too critical. I remember Dakara making fun of Ketch's british accent in SPN, while I didn't think much about it haha. It does make me wonder if Tom meant for it to sound fake, or if he was genuinely trying to sound believable. 🤔

In "Rush" Tom spoke also with an American accent (sounded better). I think he made it over the top on purpose, different inflection, a bit whiney.

The awkward flirting scene is everything - cringy for us who know, hilarious with Chloe's usual self, Michael's complete fish-out-of-water confusion as to what is happening, ending with him looking down at himself when he mishears Chloe say "Reflection" to probably his first, well.. it rhymes. ;)
