Have a lovely week everyone!

Much love

Dakara x

Rating - 9.5/10 - I AM BROKEN...I NEED THERAPY...This show is too much on my fragile heart at times. The conversation at the end of this episode was just soooo unbelievably heartfelt & powerful - wow! The prophet aspect was quite interesting but nothing in comparison to the plot of Dean being locked away in the box & Sam doing everything in his power to fight. This powerful scene reminded me of the one where Sam wanting to die & Dean decided against that for him. There is just so much weight & baggage when it comes to their relationship-so bloody strong & heavy! I explain my thoughts a lot atthe end of this reaction, hope you enjoy!

It’s okay Dakara, that last bit has us all in tears, it’s heartbreaking! And to make it all worse, Jared had a breakdown while filming this scene, apparently he could hardly get his lines out and was just a mess. They’ve talked about that a couple of times, that he had some sort of panic attack 🥺

Sarah Pflaumer

Yeah, I believe he said he cried himself to sleep that night, too. Poor Jared. BUT Jensen said that because Jared was having such a hard time with that scene, their hug was partly Jensen hugging Jared, as well as Dean hugging Sam. ❤️

Kelsey Pruett

I was so excited to watch your reaction to this episode, Dakara! The beginning and end scenes broke me. The way Sam clings to Dean after he punches him and the way he didn't want to let go of that embrace just hurt my heart. I'm a younger sister and I can really relate to Sam in that moment. To be so desperate to keep your sibling with you, there's no words. Like Kaitlin mentioned above, I hated hearing how much trouble Jared had filming that scene and I believe he said it was the only scene in the last 14 years of the show where he thought he might not be able to actually get the scene finished. Just..no words. P.S. I kinda wanna go back through your reactions and count how many times you've said "I hate this show" cause it cracks me up every time and I've started to guess which episodes you'll say it on. 😂😂

Arushi

This and the previous episode maintain very good consistency. In last one at the end Dean admits he didnt want to be around Sam, because he was the only one who could talk him out of it. And then...this is exactly what happens!! 😭 I didnt notice this at first but what is REALLY interesting about this ep was the slow buildup to Sam breaking down in the end. At start he is persuading Dean calmly, usual Sam style. Then he starts evading any and all deathbed talks. He starts getting frustrated, angry and sarcastic (that violent behaviour with killed prophet is not usual Sam!) and in the end after their last convo at hospital with Dean when he still wont budge, Sam gets drunk, almost little brother tantrum style where he punches, shouts and then breaks down to get through Dean. I think we all know that Dean doesnt have it in him to leave Sam so miserable, he needs Sam to be okay if he is going to leave him. Loved your reaction, to be honest that was exactly me while watching. Fun fact, you should totally watch the con video of Jared, Jensen describing filming this end scene- Jared had a really tough time and that con panel just broke my heart. It is in Nashville SPN Con 2019- how hard it was to film this for him 😕😭

Hasnaa

sam telling dean: "u have always been there, u practically raised me" sobsob, dean saying: "all the times i was away, i didn't leave, dad would send me away when I upset him" i freaking hate john. Also nice to see the superior Dr. Sexy aka Dr. Novak, cas really was trying hard to make dean stay he even dressed up like his fantasy

Toasted Toad

Remember me saying when you started Season 14 that this season had one of my favourite SPN lines? It was here - lines I have printed on a coffee mug - “I believe in us. Why don’t you believe in us too?” 😭😭😭

Susan Sebert

Love this episode, so powerful. Jensen even says that with Jared's struggle thru that final scene, that the hug was more Jensen hugging Jared than Dean hugging Sam. I think Jared had issues with this scene due to his own issues dealing with depression and suicide, and now he was supposed to help Dean kill himself. After seeing that scene you would never guess he struggled with it, I think he even got an award for that particular scene. That opening scene really was a nightmare, and was so real as to how you feel during a nightmare. The scratches on the wall got me, and how scared he made his voice sound.

Caitlin Paterson

I can't wait to see your reaction to the next epidoe which is the 300th one.

Kelsey Pruett

I completely forgot it was the 300th next episode!! Can't wait!

Purple Nurple

I'll post a link to just that section on your discord if you want to watch that part of the panel Dakara. I'll edit it so you get just that answer... you may need more tissues though

AdoptDontShopPets

That opening scene with Dean’s nightmare. So freaking scary and heartbreaking. Cannot imagine that situation. Jensen had the crew guys all in tears as it was filmed.

Robevania Siqueira da Silva

Me too, haha I am all emotional seeing her reaction to a scene and then she says "I hate this show" and I start 😂😂😂

Robevania Siqueira da Silva

As always, I loved your reactions this week. The first one made laugh more then I could expect (with your struggle to start it and even during the episode) and this last one, oh my! When you said you couldn't breathe in the beginning... I remember I felt exactly the same. And for the last scene your reaction was exactly what I expected. That is one scene that I'm sure all of us want to get into the tv to hug Sam ❤️ and... I love your idea of sending the guys the bill of your tissues 😂😂😂. Next week... 300 ep! I can't wait. I reaaalllyyyy hope you don't get any spoiler 😘

“But if you quit on us today, there will be no tomorrow!” That is the most powerful line in that whole speech sam gave to dean. I think it also resonates with any and everyone in real life. Too many people who want to quit living, period, anymore. It’s like the saying, “don’t make a permanent decision for a temporary problem.” And the second most powerful thing he said was, “we are the guys who save the world, we don’t just go and check out of it!” I feel like that goes for people in real life as well. Alot of people feel useless, hopeless and not important enough that they can make a difference in the world and want to just check out of it. Sam’s speech definitely hits you with reality even though he’s only talking to dean. Dean represents many in the world with his mindset, while sam represents those who care continuously to try change the negative outcome.

"I believe in us; why don't you believe in us too?" Those words shatter me every damn time I watch this. And then the little voice in my head threatens to kick my ass around the room whenever I consider watching it again... which I will because I can't help myself and the calibre of acting in the scenes regarding Dean's plan is stellar. The look on both their faces in the final confrontation haunts me. Dean can't say no to Sam at this moment which is exactly why he purposely distanced himself from Sam to build the freaking box. You just know Dean realized he couldn't do this to Sam until as the big brother, he knows Sam is better prepared and ready to live out his years without Dean. How is it there are way too many times I want to both smack the guy and hug him close? And once again, I am right there with you saying " I hate this show, I hate what it does to me!" And all too quickly I am reaching for the remote to further traumatize myself with another episode or five, depending on my work schedule, lol. Soooo... next comes the 300th episode. I cannot wait to see your reaction. This show pulls out all the stops on the mile marker episodes but in what crazy direction, you ask yourself? Just you wait and see.(Imagine me rubbing my hands together at this point, with wicked glee.) Hope you have a good week, my reactor friend!🥰

Luis Nov

As I watched the reaction I remembered you telling me that and yikes… tears 😭

Michele

A tough couple of episodes, huh? That scene at the end is exactly why Dean was trying to keep what he was doing a secret from everyone - especially Sam. Because - like he said - Sam is the only one who could talk him out of it. And he was right. I truly think Dean feels that he can't keep it up, so he was looking for a quick solution - he doesn't feel like he can keep it up any longer. Sam looking like a lost puppy there in the hug was so dear. And then Dean gives him a pat on the side of the head before getting into the car. He loves his little bro.

JoDaNa81

Can't wait for both episodes next week!

Josee (Griffe)

As many other have said, the opening scene and the last scene are powerful. I had flashback of Lazarus rising seeing Dean in a coffin and I could imagine/feel his whiplash dreading being trapped eternally but seeing no other viable option... But the final scene did not connect with me emotionnaly; not on first viewing, not now. It is still a powerful scene, relevant, well scripted, but it fell flat to me (and I'm usually one of those who have a high tab in the tissues department). Is it the acting? Is it the editing? I found that a lot of episodes since the second half of season 13 miss the breathing space that made so many moments poignant before. (I don't feel that way with the previous episode, and I cannot pin point what exacly makes the magic thin for me here.) Still, this is a solid episode and your reaction was beautiful and fully relatable.

Michele

Jared and Jensen talked about that last scene between Dean and Sam. I think you'll find your answers in their comments about filming that scene.

Nadezhda Pankratova

I always think about what Jared and Jensen said on that convention, now it breaks my heart every time I see that scene. honestly Jared deserves a world

Nadezhda Pankratova

if you want more tears, Dakara, you should watch video called "Jared Padalecki Cried Himself To Sleep After Filming THIS Supernatural Scene!", it made me see more in this episode than what i saw the first time i watched it.

DakaraJayne

Oh my day! That sounds awful. Must have triggered something in him when performing :( I’ll have to watch this video people are mentioning. Such a hard scene to watch and must have been even harder to film by the sounds of things!

DakaraJayne

Hope it didn’t disappoint 😅 saaaame Kelsey, you could feel everything in that moment. So well performed. Aww bless you, that’s what’s so great about the show though, we can’t relate to the ‘monsters’ but the heart of the show, the boys, their relationship etc we totally can. Haha, that might take awhile 😜 I don’t know if you’ve got a big enough list 😆

DakaraJayne

Totally agree Arushi and wow, you’re spot on with that analysis! Sam really went through a ride of emotions to an explosive end. Thanks Sharon for the link. Hope to watch today on my live stream.

DakaraJayne

I do and it’s a great line!! So simple but so powerful! BRB while I go cry again…

DakaraJayne

I was having a right nightmare of a day 😂😅 I’m glad it brought you some smiles though haha. I always get that feeling of breathlessness when I watch similar scenes like that beginning one! 300th ep was a tough one for me to film but it was a brilliant episode! Excited to share it with you Robevania.

Fernando Ducer

Quick remark because I don't want to forget, I've only watched a few minutes of the reaction. Isn't the guy that is with Nick at the hospital at the beginning the same actor that acted as a cop, the one that arrested Dean by order of the Stynes in season 10 episode 22?
