Hello All!

My teen crush shows up in this one and had me shook! Buffy had it tough this episode, like always, poor gal. Trust is knocked & rebuilt. Relationships tested to the max! Some moral codes questioned & very blurry here too. Great episode.

Have a lovely week everyone! Thank you for the constant love & support!

Much love

Dakara x

I very much appreciate your take on Ford: “So that gives you’re the right to kill a load of innocents, also? Psycho.” So many seem to think that his situation means we should have sympathy for his "hard" decision. Having sympathy with him is different than having sympathy with his decision. Even having seen the episode probably 20 times, I'm uncertain whether this ambiguity (the sympathy that people seem to have with a wanna-be mass murderer) is the fault of the script. I tend to think it is, though otherwise it's a really good, almost great, episode.

Gina St Phillips

I'm with you. It was hard watching "Max" be a bad guy. When he first walked in, I sorta hoped he was there to be a new regular. Not so much, lol. The Spike, Drusilla and Angel story has begun to unfold!

Jon Freezin-Rain

FWIW, the underlying philosophy for both series (Buffy and Angel) was laid out in this episode; "You have a choice, maybe not a good choice. But you have a choice"

That’s Not Acting

, First, I have to say that I really appreciate you coming at the Ford situation with some soberness. Too often I see people either in comment threads or reactors themselves justifying his behavior as though somehow being ill justifies the damage that he’s doing not only to Buffy but to all of those other people. Im with you on it and I always have been, there’s nothing to justify killing all those people. He absolutely did have a choice. Beyond that, the lore in the Buffy verse around what it takes to become a vampire or how long it takes to become a vampire after being turned or bitten are actually fairly inconsistent and doesn’t really follow a strong logical Throughline. In general most people seem to turn in their grave, you’ll see that from beside characters like Ford or even from the main vampire characters, that they turn while in their grave. It’s also kind of established that they turn sometime during the night on the night they were bitten. This doesn’t make any sense, obviously, because people don’t get buried the same day they die. It also doesn’t make sense when they bury someone who isn’t from that town at the Sunnyvale cemetery. I think Ford is the first person that this is happened to but he wasn’t from there, his family didn’t move there, so he essentially ran away to there. And yet somehow they gave him a whole headstone and buried him within a day… It really doesn’t have a lot of logic to it but I’ve learned a long time ago to just let it go and enjoy the show. So yeah there’s that. Otherwise I really love the commentary as always. You’re just the coolest and I am looking forward to the next couple of videos.

Just thinkin' out loud about why Ford was buried quickly, even though he wasn't actually from Sunnydale... This is Sunnydale. On a hellmouth. I think it's okay to assume that this town has its burial work down to a t.

Ford really is just a bit messed up. and i think buffy says it right. You have a choice, not very good ones but still have a choice. Willow is adorable as always. just love that character. And drusilla is like a living evill porcelain doll become human... or well vampire. I love it :). Enjoyed it and an arc is deff a brewing. Will wait patiently for the next one :)

This was the first episode of the show I ever saw, I remember sitting in the living room doing some homework with BBC2 on in the background and this show about vampires was on, about ten minutes in the homework was put to one side and it had my full attention. Obviously I instantly fell in love with Willow (who doesn't?) but what really sold me on the show was the little speech by the grave, the world being a much more complicated place than you thought it was is a message that is going to find resonance with just about any teenager.

Jim Greer

"Where's the doorknob" .

RavenSteal

I always picture "that one scene" from Friends when Monica is explaining things to Chandler... And it's "Seven, ... Seven... SEVEN! 7777!! 🖐️✌️🤤!!" That is what I think of when I see an episode 7 of Buffy posted.... Anywhere, but especially here. ❤️❤️❤️ 🖐️✌️

One of the things I feel this show did really well, even better than Supernatural, is continuity. The storylines really intertwine as the shows goes on. There's no plot holes or some little detail that is missed as the show goes on later in the seasons. When you have a question about backstory, trust me, it'll be explained in further detail as time goes on.

Venice Bitch

Spike’s ‘Where’s the doorknob?’ Killed me lol

Allan Cornett

Everything about Buffy is better than Supernatural but to be fair,Buffy is better than most shows.

Thom Purdy

Always remember what the Master said: "Angel, he was the most vicious creature I ever met"!

Shona

I had to laugh you made a comment and all I could think was she sounds like Dean Winchester! It was the "you might say" comment! Did make me giggle! Lol
