Yes, it happens to everyone, and has happened to me many times. I think in this moment it is exacerbated by the fact that absolutely everyone is under an unusual amount of stress due to the circumstances of our world, so even one more thing added on top of that, even something that in normal times would be no big deal, can completely wipe us out. Be gentle with yourself. You're a lovely woman inside and out, and you don't need to look better, or do more, or be different, for that to be true. Also, a holiday when you need one is not a luxury, it is essential to your mental and physical health.

1. did you say mental meth?? 2. strangely enough whilst watching this i started looking into uk getaways for you 3 :D but on a serious note you need the R&R despite if people moan at you, as they say you can't always please the masses, and if some people can't handle that then fine leave and be utterly disrespectful somewhere else, i know harsh but i'd rather have fans who can understand that this isn't an easy life, then others who just don't seem to care that just see you as a performing animal.

18 pages front and back! I went through what you went through last year when I couldn't find a decent paid job, it was winter, lockdown and I had just watched the end of Supernatural... then 2021 happened and parts of my life improved, whilst other parts went to even more hell! We are 5 days out from the winter solstice and winter doesn't help, especially stuck in your little office. I would recommend getting a little sunlight lamp for when you're not on camera. I had to use one when I was working in a basement in winter, it helps a lot (along with ensuring I'm getting enough vitamin d as us UK people don't get enough in winter). That partly helps me with the seasonal depression side of things. I'm always here for editing help. The Boys isn't that long of a show so I'm happy to help with Buffy as well, I know it very well! I hope once you've got the first few eps/half a season of season 1 your patreon numbers will rise We all hope you can continue this full time and we'll help you with that. Editing can be a long process at times, I don't get how some reactors can put a youtube edits so quickly sometimes, they probably have an editor or have an amazingly fast and expensive computer!

Purple Nurple

Agree - even though you're self employed remember employees get 28 paid holidays a year in the UK, make sure you try to stick to that as much as you can. I haven't taken as many holiday days this year as I'm freelance and the industry has been so busy, and I'm so ready for my holiday...

Mental health is always a struggle to keep ina good place. And I've been there. I've been through a burnout and if you feel that pressure. Take care of yourself, and if you need more breaks, then take them. I can live with less reactions. I'd rather see you in good health ^^. The numbers will go up I think. The stress is relatable (feeling the same with my own project). Life has its dips and you muddle through, but im sure the passion will come back. I struggle with that with ADD and sometimes depression. I completely get it the struggle and can usually feel it comming on. Then just have a week or 2, where i just dont want to do anything. I see the things I enjoy normally and just don't care. Usually thats temporary though, and things like the comunity you build with your reactions/streams/discord helped a lot too. Now I've been rambling all over the place too as i was writing this while watching :). But your comunity is here for you, and will support you. Now my crazy week of constant terrain building for dnd and stress over visitors from abroad and covid is done. And after hearing this I will deff get my 3d printer going for a bit of a christmas present for you, so look out for that ^^ (though i doubt itt'll be there by xmas xD). 18 pages front and back?

Bart Aansorgh

I'll add to my own message xD. about my own project. I get the stress. I'm working on a game with my brother, and setting up our own company. Having to go over what we'llk need art asset wise as well. and it is just gonna eat up our savings. But... its our dream. And we'll just make the best of it and hope it succeeds! :). Oh and if we get a testable demo, I am so going to send it to you :P

Christopher simeon

18 pages front and back lol. Of course you need a break. Everyone gets a break every now and then with this new year coming up i would say take January or maybe February as well to sort yourself out. If you can't then i will be sad to see force yourself to do the channel. Burnout sucks and i am currently going through a dip as well. The best thing to do is take time to plan out a goal then make smaller steps that lead to that goals so it does not feel overwhelming. For example you wanted to get faster at editing so during the break maybe look up ways to make videos editing quicker or easier to put together. Or change how you do things completely. If you do decide to go permanently all i can say is thank you for all the years of joy you have given us and good luck to you in all your endeavors.

Michele

Hi Dakara. I want to thank you for opening up to us and trusting us in doing so. I know how difficult that can be. I can understand too. I know that you do care s lot and you want everything to go well. I was also hoping the numbers would stay up and feel bad for the dip they took. But, on the plus side, you have at least 500 committed viewers that haven't left. I think that's amazing. I hope that can help a bit. And new people. That's maybe your base. Good number, even though most are silent. Keeping the love of what you do can be hard when the positives are flooded out by all the tough bits. A break sounds like a good idea. Giving yourself a break would also be a good idea. Try not to be so tough on yourself and how you do things. It actually doesn't have to be perfect. 😘 Your Buffy reaction to the pilot is doing well on YT. I wish editing wasn't so difficult. I can appreciate the burnout with that though. Esp when there's issues with YT. Do you have to do much for Patreon? I don't mind rougher videos if you want to lessen up on edits for Patreon videos. I wish I had a way to help you out. A way to lessen the impact of those of who have you stressing. They'll always be there, but that doesn't mean they're representative of the hundreds of your other viewers. Your update posts and/or videos are all most of us need. But there will always be the questions, comments, criticisms. I wish that didn't hit as hard as it does. I hope this tough patch ends soon. I'll leave off this long message with - try to keep in mind the positive. More viewers support you than it seems. We're still here. New people will come. You have the community you do for a reason. Let that give you hope.

Michele

I think my first post was 18 pages, front and back. I also think I should share a bit, since you have. I've battled with severe chronic anxiety and depression my whole life. Literally. Didn't help that I grew up in a dysfunctional family. Turns out, mental health issues are hereditary. Lol. I didn't even seek help until well into adulthood. Because that's not what you do, based on how I was raised. It got pretty bad at times. But I learned coping mechanisms. I've been also struggling lately. Well, for the past few years. The anxiety can be worse than the depression. So, while I don't have exactly the same issues as you, I can see how it would get to be a bit much to handle and suck the joy out of things. Not to put too much pressure on you, but you and your reactions are part of my self-assigned treatments. Cheers! 😚💖

Michele

Hey, I see that your Patreon numbers are rising. Maybe results of your yt Buffy reaction already!

Erica Schaefer

Please take care of you! Every single reactor I have followed on Patreon has ended up needing to take time for themselves at some point. I can only imagine the pressure, both internal and external, with a job like this. You actually provide A LOT of content, Dakara, so please don't feel guilty on that front. Even with the Buffy reacts being my main interest, I don't think I have any other reactors on my Patreon on a schedule of 2 per week every week, and that's *just* Buffy, let alone the other things you are doing as well. As for the multi-part YouTube edits, I don't know if this is an opinion others share, but I don't mind shorter single video YT reacts at all! There is so much content I enjoy consuming, it can be overwhelming trying to get to all the content I want, and then *I* feel bad skipping out on videos of creators I really enjoy and want to support when I know it messes with their algorithms. I feel like the creators get stressed trying to put out enough content and then I get stressed trying to consume it all and now everyone's stressed and this is supposed to actually be something we all enjoy doing. I know there are always the people begging for "more, more, more", but frankly I think more people have more patience than you might realize, its just the naggers are louder (and our inner voices the loudest).

Jim Greer

Please take care of yourself Dakara . Take a few weeks off with the family & recharge the batteries . We love you 💕 . Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year .🎅

Johann Ludwig

You're a gem, you know that? (Eighteen pages...FRONT AND BACK) I'm sorry to hear about your struggle, obviously I enjoy, as we all do, discovering your new reactions week in week out. You became a part of our weekly routine and a very fun and entertaining part of it for sure. But it shouldn't be at the expense of your mental health of course. Absolutely you should take some time off! Enjoy life a little bit without thinking about deadlines or view count. I believe the 500 subscribers you have here are your faithful dare I say -friends-? As far as I am concerned at least, I don't need you to deliver fresh content all the time. That's not why I became a patron. I did it to support you. I did it because I like your personality and because even if I am not very involved in your community, you always made me feel welcome. Would you decide to take a longer break or even stop doing what you do completely, well, you'd be dearly missed obviously, but also it would be ok knowing it would be on your own terms and for your own good. Take good care of yourself and of your family Dakara! ;)

Amelya Lahna

I think patreons will go up again when your reaction videos will start to be published on Youtube. Take Buffy for example, there are so many Buffy fans out there, I am sure they'll notice you, they'll come take a peek at your patreon and will eventually stay around. 😉

rue

I'm going through a serious financially/emotionally difficult time, but I held on as a patron because I really enjoy watching your reactions. Been here a while and don't plan to dip out just because you start new shows or finish those I joined to view! Watching reactions - for me - ain't just about a brief entertainment moment, but I enjoy it because I appreciate you reactions and insight, etc. I'm really hoping it's not too much of a struggle? I'm an artist, so I understand the need for validation from others when you open others up to your creations -- which, I would argue, include reaction-type channels and shit. Also, more importantly!!!!!!! ! ! ! Gengar shirt! Amazing. "Ge-n-gaaa". Hecks yiss. Youtube sucks about crap like that. Here's to hoping, and do what makes you feel more comfortable, take off some time, go outside. I love going by some river. Find geese cos them motherfuckers are loud, but cute... from afar. Nobody wants to stand next to any goose, that's a truth of the universe.

18 pages front and back ! 😘😘 First thing I’m going to say is that your human Dak, take a break if you need one. Always take care of yourself first ❤️ Second thing Dak, you look beautiful ! I also wish I could help you more with the editing, but i’m not good at all with it 😔 I think I might have feel that « wtf am I doing with my life » feeling at the beginning of my 3 years of engineer school. It was the beginning of a new thing, it was scary because I was always questioning myself if I was able to get through this, and make this what I will be working in my life. But it all went fine in the end, and I’m sure it’ll be fine for you too and that your channels are only at the beginning of their life 😘 Again take care of yourself ❤️ and know that we, as your faithful community, will be there for you 😘

rue

18 pages front and back ;;; I've been in the hospital for mental health issues, evicted, been involved in some serious legal trouble, quit my job after a nervous breakdown, and I'm attempting to mend. To not give TMI in depth. But I get the feeling of being overwhelmed. Tough, tough times. It can really wear upon you slowly if you're going through some serious shit. You ain't alone, pinky promise.

rue

All of that happened within the last three months. So not separate instances. I am in the "what the fuck am I doing" stage, for sure.

bostonate

18 pages. FRONT AND BACK! For real, though, I appreciate the insight into what it takes to produce the content you do. Keep up the good work. There are always dips in motivation now and then. I think taking a vacation to recharge would be a great idea.

Kevin Kuturin

You know, I am struggling with the same thing right now. Feeling lost and trying to find my purpose. But getting everything like this off your chest is better than keeping all of it in. You know what I have been going trough as well, because I told you. I think You just need holidays and to recharge yourself. Stress levels have to be managed. We all hit lows, but getting trough them shows us what we are made of. So, take care yourself, carry on, take a break. I know I still will be here to have chats with you and with this amazing community what you have created!

Donald Mellen

18 pages front and back. Yet another person letting you know that burn out is real and I have been there and done that. Also, I've found several reactors that don't produce the volume of output that you do. You are a reacting goddess, and don't let anyone tell you different! I hope you have a fantabulous holiday and can get some much needed relaxation and recharging.

Ian

18 pages front and back as many have already said everyone feels this way at sometime or another we are in stressful times right now and you having a little man to look after and Grayson too ( sry couldn't resist ) seriously though putting your feelings out there is brave and not bottling everything up is definitely something I'm happy you chose to do if you wanna cry then cry if you wanna scream then do that release is a huge help I would say yes take a holiday enjoy Christmas and come back in the new year fully refreshed mentally and see how things go , fact is we only want the best for you whatever that turns out to be hopefully what you do now but whatever it is we are your friends here and back you 100% 💙 the numbers will return I have total faith so please try to remain positive we ain't goin anywhere I promise you 💖

Chris Mick

18 pages front and back. Having been in a similar place a few years ago, it felt good to share my "18 pages" with someone willing to listen when I was ready. I know how worried I was to share with just one person. Hopefully taking this extremely brave step to share with so many who care has helped you feel at least a little better and taken some of that burden from your chest. I was going to DM you this message. But I'd probably just be repeating what I've already said in previous messages. I'm going to be bold and assume that I speak for the vast majority of the community when I say you and your family come first and we're behind you 100%... no matter what. Sending you loads of love and a massive hug.

Firstly, well done for being so open and honest. That's very brave and its lovely that you can express yourself to your patrons like that. I'm new to your channel and can see that you put in the effort and are appreciative of all who support you. I like to support people who genuinely appreciate it and are clearly happy in what they do. I've left other reactors who pretend they aren't just in it for the money but clearly are. Also it's so nice of you to say that you would forewarn patrons when you're taking a break so they can know to cancel membership briefly etc. Secondly, you are gorgeous! You don't even need to "make an effort," you're beautiful. I struggle massively with my mental health and I struggle to stay in a job because of it. So the fact you keep on going to reach your goals despite sometimes feeling terrible, is inspiring. Well done! Third, your numbers will likely rise with us buffy fans. Put a few more episodes on YouTube and you'll see them come :p I will also do a bit of advertising for you in the other reactor discords. Lastly I'm afraid I cannot edit videos or I'd gladly help. Again, I will ask in other reactor discords if anyone knows someone who might be able to help. Stay safe xx

Brenda Lewis

I've been here longer than with any other Patreon. I love this channel. So far, I can't say I've found a new show I love, but I have your Supernatural library. Keep moving forward. Valleys and peaks are a part of life. You do this better than anyone else I sub to. It's hard to balance. I used to work nights when my son was small. I never got to put him to bed, and he was up when I would get home. The struggle is real and second guessing ourselves, is a constant.

Superplin

I am a new patron and I'm so thankful to people who promoted your channel in various other reactor Discord servers. I'm loving your Buffy reactions!

madfem

hopefully Buffy will bring you a lot of new patrons and maybe it'll even help you with your mental health bc its a show that talks about all of those problems that we humans go through, in a powerful and inspiring manner. 💓

Fernando Ducer

Well I am late as usual. I would like to think that I've been by your side all along while you were going through all the struggles you mention with YouTube and Patreon, I feel like I haven't been too present. And if that is the case, I am sorry. You deserve so much more than what you already have achieved in this area and I am sure I never forget to say this to you, but you really do deserve so much more. I hope that you figure out what you need to do to get back on top of things and you can pull through. Get out there, recharge and come back better than ever. That will require a real disconnection from all of this and to get on top, all the honesty within you with yourself about what you truly want and need to move forward with better footing. Regarding your question towards the end about if we've been through those struggles and questioning everything, I am sure that many of us have. I personally have been doubting myself about Twitch, literally thinking of letting go and dedicating to something else but I know that it might be too soon to throw the towel for me. As soon as the lows hit me, they hit so hard. The dwindling support from people and just talking to myself it feels like I am failing and at the end of a stream I always feel like I want to give up, like I am not cut out for this sort of thing. One thing I can tell you is you and your content have helped me heal in all this time that I've known you. After I came to meet you I found myself amid the biggest turmoil of my life with a great struggle in the sense of sometimes not even knowing who I was or that I was worth a damn. Slowly but surely, staying around you, keeping in touch and watching your content helped me heal like you wouldn't know. For that I am forever grateful to you Dakara. Another thing I am going to touch upon and the thought alone scares me to death. If you come to the conclusion that with all that you have gone through and you can't seem to get better you want to let go of this and dedicate to something else, I will always support you and have your back painful as it would be to see you leave this behind. I want nothing but the absolute best for you and I appreciate that you want to take care of yourself and get back in good shape, mentally, emotionally and physically. I send you all my love and I will forever remain faithful to your cause, whatever it may be, where ever it may take you. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
