Really liked that. And there is room for a spin off or sequel series. Derek is now a god like being? What does that mean? And I assumed it would end with Micheal opening his eyes to his test afterlife. So we left the show with him alive. But it ended very well...I liked that.

Joe Villalobos

Teary-eyed from start to finish, even on a re-watch. Thank you for doing your reactions. They truly are uplifting. Peace.

Nate

Such a great show. Loved watching your reactions and going through the emotional rollercoaster. I love how much philosophy they got into a sitcom and kept it very funny and relevant. 10/10 show will watch again.

Really happy you could get to the end of the show unspoiled. It is a very underrated work they have done I think, a very well thought story from beginning to the end. There was a theory that I always liked, it was that it was Michael's Bad Place, he was always a human, not a demon, whose torture was that he was convinced he was a bad place rep and had to constantly live in a world where he could not be an effective torturer 🙃. Anyway, I enjoyed watching you react to this show, and now on to the next one 🎉

Damn, not as many tears as I was expecting haha. A few things, unfortunately I don't think you noticed Elenor's jumper/t-shirt throughout the episode, nobody seems to. But, the rainbow (?) goes from a flat line to a sort of smile shape. Hopefully they did that intentionally. And final wee thing from me. D'arcy wore that necklace to the interviews for this final season and nobody knew the significance until this episode :D so good. It's my second favourite finale of any show. (Angel is #1 for one reason, don't worry.. that's not a spoiler, it's a personal thing lol)

one of my favorite finales of a show. This whole show is about life lessons of course the end means lessons on death and letting people that are ready go. What i found out after watching it is some people took the messages the wrong way and though the show was endorsing suicide but i did not see it that way at all. Its about doing everything you want out of life, your goals(Literally in jasons case), helping other people(tahani),Experiencing life instead of just reading about it(Chidi) making everyone around the best version of themselves(Eleanor) then dying peacefully.

This episode has me in tears earlier every time I watch it now that I know what's coming. What a masterpiece of a show and what a perfect series finale!!!

The BLOOB

Probably the most tightly wrapped series I've ever watched, straight from the premiere to the finale. Satisfying and fulfilling. Loved the rewatch with you Dak. Those 3 piano notes during the Chidi/Eleanor goodbye... done, just done. Instant tears.

Great show, great finale, great reaction. The Good Place is one of my all-time favorite shows and I'm glad it also led me to find you through this reaction series. You mentioned the podcast, so you're already aware of it, but I cannot emphasize enough how great it was to listen to after each episode in my rewatch. I highly recommend it. I have really enjoyed this rewatch with you. I appreciate how genuine your reactions are. Thankfully, I'm also a Buffy fan, so I'll be sticking around for that.

David Guin

I hate that the series is done, but I love watching the end with you ;)

Thank you so much for sharing this journey with us Dak. It's been a couple of years since I watched this and I was not ready - my glasses came off the same exact second yours did, and from that point I was a teary mess till the end. This show is such a wholesome experience, and sometimes you forget it's a comedy. I remember my friend going: "Hey, have you seen The Good Place? such a funny show!" -- boy, did I get more than I expected. Perfect ending... I know this is a rough time for you, and I hope this was the 'right' kind of sad for this moment.

Cried my ass off all over again. This one is kinda overwhelming to give an after talk, isn’t it? 😅 It’s supposed to be (and it is) all we’ve ever hoped. I can only wish you the best time rewatching this, and I bet you will fall in love with everyone, cast to crew, when you listen to the podcast (which is hosted by TGP’s fan Marc Evan Jackson who plays Shawn and has the best voice in town). I’ll keep supporting you here just because and would love anything extra you decide to upload here. And I wouldn’t mind to eventually get your after after thoughts, which I assume you’ll have once you sit with this show for a while. And any after after after thoughts would be welcome too. I look at most things in life through this show’s lens, just to get the feeling if I’m on the right track, so I feel there are always potential after after … after thoughts. ☺️ Anyway, thanks again for sharing yourself. ❤️

God, this still shatters me. I just can't handle the wave speech at all. First time through this episode I legitimately had to take a break to rehydrate from all the sobbing. It's somehow the happiest sadness though. Undoubtedly my favourite tv show, from start to finish. Funny, sad, and somehow a great learning experience.

John

This was my 3rd watch and I still didn't notice the change in Eleanor's rainbow until you mentioned. That's wonderful - just another way this show just keeps get ting better. :)

John

Thanks Priscila! I forgot there was a podcast. I am definitely going to start listening.

OK - I won't lie... There was a whole lot of ugly crying going on over here today. I guess because I knew what would happen this time and I just got to go along for the ride. Just an absolutely beautiful show. Actually, it's nerfect. There were so many great moments in this episode - this was my 3rd watch and I still see things I missed the first couple of times. (Michael's dog Jason having a turquoise collar was a great touch that I somehow missed before this). Thank you so much for taking us along on this ride with you and I really enjoyed hearing your take on things along the way. It was also so nice to read the comments from your crew here every week and hear how this show has meant a lot to them too. Favourite finale moments for me: *Chidi telling Eleanor about the waves in the ocean. *Tahani and Kamilah finally getting close to their parents. *Jason getting to DJ and dance as everyone cheered him on. *Mary Steenburgen's cameo as Michael's guitar teacher was a nice surprise. They've been married since 1995 so I just thought it was great to see them have that scene together. (and had me wishing I could just hang out with them IRL sometime) *I wish I could find just one favourite scene with Janet - but Darcy was just amazing in every scene she was in. I think having her be the support to each of our friends as they peacefully walk through the door -- and that slightly sad but happy for them look in her eyes when they did so -- that's what kept me grabbing for the tissues. holy crap...that made me cry just typing that. I'm such a messy bench. Thanks again Dakara. xo

Congrats on making it to the finale! I'm not sure I could have filmed myself watching that episode for the first time. I was ugly crying a lot too. I loved the whole idea that there has to be an end even to the afterlife. Having an infinite life with no growth or potential would feel like a curse. Who knows what really comes after we die, but isn't it great that we can speculate and wonder about it together? Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed it as much as I did.

Red Hunter

I don't know if you have already seen it, but there is a great clip of The main cast finding out about the twist in season 1. It is so good.

Phoenix Dawn

This was so perfect. I remember crying so much and this episode lived with me for a long time! Just amazing!

I can’t believe you’ve finished. I’m kinda sad, tbh. I love this show and I’ve loved rewatching it with you again. This final episode was so brilliant in so many ways and I loved every minute of it. Usually I come away from finales still wishing they’d done something that they hadn’t, but this one was perfect for me. There was nothing else I wanted from it. Chidi’s speech about the wave was beautiful to me. I loved that image of the ones we loved not having left, but simply changed their way of being here. I needed to hear that the first time I watched it and it has stayed meaningful ever since. I’m so glad you loved this as much as I did. Thank you for reacting to it. If you’re ever looking for another show to react to, that hardly anyone has done, check out Schitt’s Creek. It’s brilliant and in my top five favourite shows of all time.

I hope you listened through the closing credits even though you didn't show it here. The episode closes with a full version of the song Michael was writing. For the next rewatch, there are a few little things... Whenever you see a scene at Jeff's desk after the judge pushes Trevor off the bridge, you can see Trevor flying by in the background. Michael's apartment address is 12358, same as the number of the original neighborhood. His apartment number (and the number of frogs Jeff ends up with) is 322, same as the number of residents in the original neighborhood. Michael pleads with the judge not to condemn the same number of people as in Friends, and specifically cites Phoebe as not deserving the bad place, then we see "Phoebe" as "Patty" when we get there at the end of season 4. In the scene where Chidi is teaching philosophy and quotes from Todd May, many of the people in the class are modern-day philosophers that have been quoted in the show. There's more but you'll figure it out. :-) Enjoyed watching along.
