Threshold Characters: The Faith (Patreon)
Content
Even though the poll is still running for the Smith, we've got a lot of characters to get through and I want to keep the wheels turning. We've established the Marshal and the Smith as the muscle. Now I'd like to choose two characters who are defined by their faith. While they aren't the only characters to have faith in something, they are the most driven by their spiritual beliefs, and they are either divine or primal characters.
As with the muscle, some of these character will be present as NPCs even if you don't chose them as PCs. The Three Faces of Coin is the dominant faith of the community, and the Preacher leads their services. The question is whether the Preacher also goes on adventures and has the full abilities of a player character, or if the Preacher is an NPC who may not even cast spells. On the other hand, the Flame won't be a resident unless you choose them. With that in mind, here's a little more information.
The Preacher is a Khoravar priest who leads services for the Three Faces of Coin. As an spiritual leader, they have a responsibility to those who share their faith—and as a priest of Coin, they are determined to help Threshold thrive and prosper.
The Heart is an old dwarf, who's wandered the frontier for over a century. While they don't consider themselves a priest, they count Boldrei and Olladra as friends and do what they can to spread cheer and strengthen the community.
The Fury is the Cazhaak priest of the kobold community on the edge of Threshold. Wild and passionate, they act to protect their people and to avenge those who have been wronged. While they and their people are still outsiders in Threshold, they follow where the Fury leads them.
The Flame is only a teenager, but divine visions have carried them to Threshold. They know that dangers face this town, both dark forces beyond its walls and greed that consumes from within. An orphan who knows nothing of their heritage, the Flame is a teenage Kalashtar, but they are channeling the power of the Silver Flame.
The Greensinger follows no god, but knows that there are ancient powers in the mountains and the plains, and that the town must strike a balance with these forces if it is to survive. The Greensinger knows that the town itself is a story, and intends to ensure that it ends well. The Greensinger may be an elf, or they may be a changeling who often adopts an elf persona.
This poll will run until noon PST on Sunday, and the top two characters will be PCs.
