Looking at tomorrow for this week’s video. Got about 7 minutes left to go, but it’s not happening tonight

    Some quick questions:

    1. Im looking at a Soviet Tank Battalion in the early 80s (CM:CW’s timeframe) consisting of around 30 tanks total. Is this accurate
    2. Where can I find the maps that are used in the campaign of the CM games so I can get a better single image overview of a given scenario’s terrain.
    3. Where are the individual campaign missions for CM games usually held?

    1. Soviet tank battalions tend to be either 31 or 41 tanks (3 tanks per platoon, 3 platoons +1 HQ tank per (10 total) per company, 3 companies +1 HQ (31 total) per battalion.
Tank battalions assigned to support infantry have 4 tank platoons, hence 41).

2/3. IIRC, The CMCW campaign maps are all in the master maps folder, but they’re named after the area they cover, not the mission they relate to.
At least all of the US campaign missions are loose in the standalone battles. Can’t remember if the Soviet ones are, but you can get the missions out of any campaign by Uncamming them: https://community.battlefront.com/topic/127008-uncam-combat-mission-campaign-extractor/

So the Soviet battalions are indeed not designed to operate independently right?
I heard they only have a complete staff section at regiments and above

I don’t think anything Soviet is supposed to operate independently above regiment, at least

This week’s video is going to be a little late, I’m afraid. The new War Room format is like trying to get blood out of a stone. I’ve just about finished the script, so I’m going to move onto checking and tweaking in morning. Fingers crossed it’ll be good to go tomorrow.

Again, the War Room is kicking and screaming on it’s way to completion, so I’m afraid there’s nothing today.
I thought I had it nailed down earlier this week, but that would have been too simple.
On the other hand, the degree to which this one is making my head hurt should make it interesting!

Well, mechanized infantry with autocannon equipped vehicles are indeed “better”.
Might be worth doing a rerun of the airborne mechanised (BMP-3)

Ironically, the BMP-3 run is the closest I think I’ve got to a doctrinal Soviet attack.

Would anyone be interested in playing the Canadian side in the Canadian Club scenario in SF2?

Also more to my Persian Predicament fanfiction, I’m really dedicated
