Patreon's direct link to Vimeo didn't want to work for some reason, so I've just embedded it here instead... let me know if that is at all borked and I will flail around trying to fix it.

But... a little more interesting than I had anticipated. Mostly because, historically, there were a lot more than the 3 Marders modelled in CM. It really was one of those "just bolt it to anything!" programs that really highlight the state of German war production.

I do have to add this image in here though, we kinda sums the Marders up!

In other news, this one took about 3 days to churn out (hopefully you can't tell how full of cold I am!) so i've got a bit of breathing space to get stuck into the next Semper Fi Syria mission. Still no idea how to tackle it- I'm really not liking the terrain and the briefing mentions armour- but it should get messy, which is how we like it!

Combat Mission Units: WW2 Marders

I'm loving the photo. Look how not smiling those guys are. "Really? You want me to fight with this? Are you crazy?" The video got me thinking of the SU-76M. The Red Army had more of a self-propelled infantry support platform in mind than AT when thinking of the SU-76M, and CMRT does pack more HE rounds than AT in the AFV. It does, however, all fit with WWII Soviet military tank doctrine. Though the SU-76M wasn't operational until 1943 it was the second most produced AFV in the Red Army at almost 14k built. Only the T-34 was produced more. You thought about making a video on the SU-76M???

The next USMC mission is one of the more brutal in the campaign. Brace yourself!

These early self-propelled AT guns are the most easily misused armored vehicles in the game.

The SU76 always struck me as more of a STuG analog- more about infantry support than going after tanks. I covered it a tiny bit in one of the Slitherine Tournament videos.

Yeah, I'm doing the prep and realised I get points taking less than 50% casualties. Which in Shock Force, as NATO, is pretty crazy. It is bad ground. I do not like it.

True enough. AT role was secondary. More for "Oh really? There's a tank spotted? There's no panzer units mentioned in our briefing? Damn."
