And it was closer than it looks! A solid end to the campaign and an opportunity to really push the boat out for the briefing sequence. I probably spent too long working out exactly how to get the briefing to work inside the helicopter (and it's the wrong helo interior) but it was some good fun and not that I've worked it out I can stash the methods to one side for the future.

Speaking of which, because the campaign is over I need to zero in on the next one. I am now leaning on the CMFI Fallschirmjaeger campaign, but we'll see.

In other news, next up we have a Basics video. This looks like a good opportunity to work in the Quataife Gorge TDG and talk about planning, drills and all that kind of fun stuff.

As you might have seen in the chat, the Winter Turn-by-Turn is progressing. I managed to play one game against myself this week and it was relatively solid. As I played it, it certainly broke down into some defined sections, but I am a little concerned about how much that might railroad players. We'll see, but we are getting closer!

It shouldn't be too long before the forces are 100% locked in and I can start taking names, putting the supplementary materials together and generally trying to make it look good.

Loads to look forward to!

This mission really shows how invaluable the Javelin is for American light infantry and how much is lost in the absence of Armored vehicles. If you had even just a single AAV, that BTR would be a nonproblem, but your lack of anything that stand up to it in a one on one engagement made it a major headache. The T72, as you pointed out, could've ended you if it wasn't for the Javelin team.

Come on, Hapless. You KNOW you want to take those Pershings into Cologne. Don’t fight it.

Re-edited: deleted my previous post, which was more of a rant than anything else. I guess asymmetrical doesn't move me, is all. Especially with something as stacked as the US military. I did find the campaign enjoyable overall, but am glad it's concluded. Looking forward to further gaming in the direction of either the Eastern Front of WWII or the Cold War. And as always, your tactical abilities in CM are second to none, UH.

But Perrrrrr-shings. Pantherrrrrrs. They’re calling to you. Seriously, the CMFI campaign does sound interesting. Looking forward to it.

Do the CMSF German Campaign Next!

You know that you’re in the Light Infantry when a single BTR is a major obstacle. That chassis was probably built before any of the U.S. Marines were born.

Yep. After 11 missions of casually stomping them, it was a bit galling to be troubled by one.
