Hello!!

I just added a new Ball Python Keychain (Baby Ball?!) and Refrigerator Magnet to the downloads post.  I knew I wanted to do a mini-python keychain from the moment I finished it's big brother, so here it is!  I hope you enjoy!

Cheers! Matt

**Download from the Pinned "Current Download Links" post**A dab of super-glue on the back of a 10mm x 2.6mm neodymium magnet, like These On Amazon***. will fit securely into the slot on the back

Print Settings (Magnet):

- 0.16mm layer height- 3 walls with a 0.4mm nozzle (could do 2 walls with a larger nozzle.)- 10% Lightning infill (lightning infill is great for these because it keeps the weight down and only creates infill where needed. Keeping the weight down helps the magnets be more effective.)- 5-6 bottom layers (gives a little extra strength to the magnet attachment area.)- If your printer struggles with bridging, you may need to add support inside the magnet slot.  Give it a try without and see how it goes.

Zombie Saint

Oh brilliant timing! I've had two requests for tiny snakes and I really didn't want to scale the normal size one down... Thanks Mat

Mark Ross

Has anyone else had issues with the links of the snake key chain coming apart? When I print them at .2mm layer height they always come apart at the links.

matmire_makes

Not that I have heard. Have you had the same issue with the end of the snake tail? Those links are essentially the same joints. It could perhaps be a filament issue. Maybe try another and see if you have the same trouble.

Mark Ross

Actually, yes. I had the tip of the tail come off of the full size Python model as well. I have been able to repeat it also. If it's twisted at the correct angle, it will pop off. The keychains I made were all the same filament so I will try a different one. The only time I didn't get it to come apart was when I printed it at .12 layer height.

matmire_makes

Let me know how it goes. If you continue to have issues, could you email me pictures of the popped joints? It might help me figure out what's happening. matmire.makes@gmail.com

Mark Ross

Will do! Thanks for the speedy replies.

thomas hahn

i've had the same issues and you have to catch it at just the right angle and they come right apart

matmire_makes

Thanks for letting me know. I'll take a look at ways to better secure them.

joe young

Matmire can you make a zombie ball python or hammer head shark? Would be so cool I'm waiting for the beardie to come back.

D&K CUSTOM PRINTS

We're also having that issue with the joints coming right apart, and that's just holding it in our hands looking at it. The minor movements seem to be enough that they come apart real easy. Look forward to hearing when it's fixed!

matmire_makes

That really shouldn't be happening as you describe with any version of it. I would love it if you could email me some details about your slicer settings and maybe some pics of the prints so I can maybe figure out why that's happening to you (matmire.makes@gmail.com). Also, he fix was released, have you tried the latest version in the Downloads Post?

Makers Ace

I love this! Would it be possible to get a the ball python keychain at that size without the whole for the keychain?

matmire_makes

There might just be something like that in the works. 🤫
