***THIS FILE IS NO LONGER INCLUDED FREE WITH SUBSCRIPTION.It can be purchased once re-released according to this Schedule.Hey Everyone!  With snakes on my mind and a bunch of requests for the Ball Python keychain without the key ring hole, I thought I'd take it a step further and make a new set of smaller Pythons.  These little guys are the perfect desktop fidget size (11" and 5" versions), print quickly, and don't require any assembly. 100% Print-In-Place, with no supports needed!  These youngsters also sport a more youthful face sculpt.  For sellers, these could be a great value options for those customers that aren't quite ready for the big guys!Hope you like them!Matt *The Little Ball Pythons will only be available as a free download until Feb 28th. After that it will be available again in June 2023, for purchase.

I’m having issues with end of tail popping off. It has done it on the baby and the young one.

matmire_makes

What do you mean by popping off. Coming off of the bed, or the links are separating?

W Shankles

Links are separating

matmire_makes

hmm... Likely a flow issue. Can you email me pics (or post in the Discord #troubleshooting channel)? It's not easy to troubleshoot in the comments section here, haha. matmire.makes@gmail.com

Kari N Franz

I just had this issue too. I'll try to find this in the Discord.

So excited about these coming out of the vault! My kids are going to love them! (and me too ;) )

Lauren Tarasevich

Does this print in multicolor? When I open it in Bambu, it only lets me choose one color, the eyes aren’t assigned other colors

matmire_makes

Hi! It doesn't currently have a 3MF. Some of my older files don't have them yet, but I am going back through and adding more when I have time. This is on the list. In the meantime, I did make this video a while back to show how you can color the eyes for multicolor printing. It's fairly straight forward.... https://www.patreon.com/posts/tutorial-basic-88097117 Hope that helps!

Darknynja

Thanks for these. The more snakes the better I always say.

Rhya Hayes

Do they need supports for the lip overhang at all, or is it small enough to not matter?

Jennifer Hansen

Do you have a video on how you do the eyes?

Russell Burns

Just pulled them off the build plate they look amazing

Stephen Mills

Going be amazing these hopefully will have a slot available later this week to print them

What are you using for eyes? Some of the pics make it look like you have a little glass eye glued into place. Is this something you are buying somewhere?

James Emberton

They are painted and usually top-coated with a glossy clear coat (although in an earlier reply, Matt said that he used a multicolor printer for these python models, the Bambu X1C I believe). The eyes are printed as part of the model to have a hole for the pupil, a separate iris, a highlight, and the sclera. Each part of the eye is painted separately, black pupil, colored iris, white highlight, and white or colored sclera. It was a pretty ingenious design choice by Matt.

toozie21

Wow, that is darn impressive! Very nicely done.

toozie21

Very cool, thanks.

Are you using a 0.4 layer width? All my joints are sticking.

matmire_makes

Yes, I use 0.4mm. If your joints are sticking, your printer may be over-extruding. You may want to calibrate your e-steps and flow. Slicers have a multiplier setting to increase/decrease the flow rate. Feel free to post about this in the Discord #Troubleshooting channel if you want. We can more easily help you get it sorted out there.
