Thanks! For the ones you paint, do you do a full priming first?

matmire_makes

Sometimes. I usually use wood filament for the painted ones, and find that the paint sticks pretty well without priming. I probably should be priming always, but my painted ones just sit on a shelf after I take pictures of them, so I get lazy. haha.

2026-09-20 02:00 I am curious what software you use to design them, is it cad or modelling?

I use Blender and Nomad Sculpt. So it’s a mix of digital sculpting and polygonal modeling. CAD is much better suited for industrial designs rather than organic modeling.

what would you recommend for someone wanting to learn blender or any sculpting programs?

matmire_makes

I mostly would just searched for tutorials on YouTube, but there are also pretty low cost training courses on sites like udemy.com

Thanks, it just boggles my mind how designers like you make these designs. ill probably never be as good but I would like to learn.
