2026-09-06 01:00 RIP, Hallon got removed again. Can't we make some deal for this? It's such an important part of the end of these videos.

lol, I appeal every time and I win every time, but the whole process takes a *MONTH*. That's how they get 'ya!

I love that you brought back “Day Bird”! It really gives me a feeling of rising tension and anticipation.

New Patreon supporter, thank you for your work on these! This is the first new video you’ve released since I started following your channel and I can’t tell you how my face lit up when I saw it!

wow great video! This made me really sad :( - how Cassius dies and then Brutus, both of them wanted to end Caesars tyranny but in the end caused disturbance in the empire and for what? virtue? the bad guys somehow still got to the top, why people can only led by those backstabbing types and not the clear minded people? I have to admit learning about this makes me think more about my own life and actions aspirations motivations and ideals. really enjoying your videos though :)

Andrew Bendall

was Octavian really a bad guy? After all, he was always meant to follow in Caesars footsteps and was stopped by the power broker Antony. Once he overcame them and became Augustus he enacted so many good things for the empire.

Historia Civilis

That's so nice to hear, because I genuinely never know whether people notice or care about the music or not.

Historia Civilis

I kinda find Octavian off-putting and strange and cruel and bad-guy-esque. After this battle here, he asks fathers and sons to draw straws to determine which one is to be hacked to bits in front of the other. Just...supervillain shit, for no damn reason. *HOWEVER,* the one redeeming thing about Octavian is that he successfully pulled Rome out of a death spiral of Civil Wars - something that is almost impossible to do. Hard to calculate how many lives were saved by preventing the collapse of the Roman state.

Patrick McCarron

It's actually one of the things that makes your videos so rewatchable imo. Even if I know everything that is going to happen, the fact that your choice of music matches/compliments the tone of the events so well keeps me engaged in what is going on, if that makes sense.

Kasim

what a bunch of fools

Julius Cesar is my hero. One of the greatest men to have ever walked the planet. Good riddance to the son who betrayed him, literally stabbing him in the back, or groin as the case may be.

lazarusinashes

sometimes when I watch your videos after Caesar's death I constantly wonder what Caesar would've done in the situation—you have characterized him so well. Like after his assassination, if he was someone else, what would he have done politically to make a difference? How would he have navigated it? Super interesting.

Michael Allen

I can’t wait to see what you have in store next. Hope all is well.

Hoping this extra time means an extra long video :D
