for context on the two break up thing: she and her long time bf joe alwyn (british actor) broke up after 6 years tg right when the tour started (maybe a little before who knows). the relationship seemed to have a very slow drawn out death over a long period of time. lots happened but mostly he was not totally comfortable with her outward popstar persona and that seemed to be a reoccurring issue, she seemed to be trying to shrink herself to keep it going. then swoops in matty heally (frontman from the 1975), they met originally in 2014 and seemed to have fling/friendship/flirtation/casual relationship with each other back in the day and then off and on communication over the years. he spoke about her publicly often. the consensus is kinda that they finally got tg after her breakup w joe for a very short period of time. however short it was very intense/love bombing and they had all that history. tale as old as time where the guy is obsessed with you and claims he will be the one to treat you better and then when the time comes does not. from ttpd the understanding is that he professed his love and they talked about marriage and then he basically ghosted. theyve both written music about each other and in hindsight swifties realize he was a reoccurring muse in her discography. ttpd literally feels like reading a tragic romance novel lol

Alanna needs to hear Tortured poets department. it's therapeutic/cathartic. taylor had met travis by that time so there's 2-3 songs she threw in for him but the rest are the songs about feeling cursed to be alone. be sure when you do it, do the anthology.

When you watch the eras tour I recommend watching the “final show” version. It includes the cool skits and theatrics from Tortured Poets! and showcases the band way more!

Great recap of the 2 break ups. Matty being the front man of the 1975 is why watching that first performance of Anti Hero has so much lore behind it. She was still dating Joe at the time. The consensus also is that when Travis went to the eras tour in KC (July 8 2023) and tried to give Taylor a friendship bracelet, she wasn’t ready to talk to anyone- it was only a month or so after Matty ghosted her from what we know. But then after the podcast aired (July 26 2023), everyone that knew both Taylor and Travis was vouching for him and I guess they started talking very quickly after the podcast episode.

I love this, and appreciate the honesty and vulnerability in your reactions! I think that's the powerful thing about music, how it can help us to see ourselves better, and accept parts of ourselves in the process! The love Taylor shows to her support artists is second to none. When Sabrina was opening for her in Australia there was one night in Sydney where Sabrina didn’t get to have her set because it was rained out. Taylor ended up getting to do her show still so to make up for it she brought Sabrina back out during the acoustic set and let her sing white horse with her. That in itself was a full circle moment for sabrina as she actually sang that song back in like 2010 or something in a competition. I love that Taylor lets her surprise guests really have their moment on her stage.

One of the things about Travis coming into the Swiftie-verse is he's a self-admitted crier (think back to the New Heights podcast w/the two of them).
