SWIFTIES!!!

Folklore and Evermore are in the books, Cronicans! We've been time-traveling backwards through Taylor's discography and it's decision time. Do we go all the way back to where it all began with Debut, especially with rumors swirling about a Taylor's Version drop for its twentieth anniversary on October twenty fourth? Do we keep the reverse chronological train rolling with Lover? Or do we hand Alanna and me the keys and let us surprise you? Vote now and pick our next therapy session."

Just like in the Miss Americana doc, I think you need to understand the struggles of Reputation in order to appreciate Lover. In order to appreciate Reputation, you need to know the path she took to get there. This would be a great transition point. You’ve heard some of her best works already, as far as her mature lyricism. You’re invested. Now you can enjoy the story, the journey of Taylor Swift. It really is a fairytale.

Also doesn’t hurt that in the last video you kind of already shared what your heart is telling you the right choice is. I can’t imagine voting for Lover after that.

i'm all for letting Alanna and Kyle pick, they never let us down & surprises are phenomenal. a little unpredictability increases the excitement. personally i'm a little less excited when i know what's coming. it's like waiting for a bus. you want the ride but there's no excitement or clues to watch for what's coming

I pretty much agree. My first vote is "you guys pick" because if it's not debut, I'm even more curious at this point which one you guys would decide to randomly pick! That being said, my second choice is debut. Up until this point I liked the backwards because that's what a lot of new Swifties experienced and I think you get really invested in Taylor and appreciate the early work more. But like Jovana said, you're invested at this point so if you go back now you'll appreciate it and you'll get the full journey before the epic transition of reputation into lover. Lover might seem like a weird place to end but it fits her journey and you already know most of the best songs on it.

I agree!!!

Lover is very opposite of folklore/evermore. It’s definitely more complex than it seems. She’s not just writing this song for her lover. She’s writing what the stages of falling in love is. Anxiety, acceptance, commitment, giddy love, fights, making up. (Also letting love go when needed) So yes a lot of people see it as just a pop album but because it’s Taylor Swift there’s so much more meaning to it

I Also really like the idea of you guys picking, because this section in her life was hard, crucial, and she changed her music drastically from going from country to pop, switching label industries and making a name for herself in the bussiness side of things. So NO PRESSURE but whatever album you choose you would need to go ALBUM BY ALBUM FORWARD or BACKWORDS. In order to really get into the nitty gritty stuff. I vote DEBUT! I feel like you’ll get to see the FULL album where she switches (RED) than she goes “what the hell” and just breaks out her pop bible! (1989).

I vote for Debut next and going in chronological order, so you can hear/watch her grow up and experience it as many of us Swifties did. Also means you’ll react to Speak Now sooner which is personally the one I’m most excited to watch!
