Update 2021-03-24 (Patreon)
Content
Hello everyone! Welcome to March's update!
HSETAU
I've included this big long panel to show that HSETAU proceeds apace and I hope to continue with two updates a month for as long as I can manage. I find this very engaging and fun to do whenever I can, but in the midst of school it's hard to find the time and energy. I find it easier to just draw things by hand than sort out new game-style isometric environments to navigate. Writing for HSETAU is a little tougher because this is kind of a boring jamb and I don't have the luxury of editing due to the serial nature of the work. It's a process, and I'm certain I'll improve as I go along.
As for the accessibility updates, I have now included alt text for every image between pages 1 and 112 and renamed all relevant picture numbers. Down the pipeline I'm looking into ways to make the obnoxious and harder-to-read troll quirks a toggle-able option rather than the default because people who are unfamiliar with Homestuck have expressed interest in my work (wow!!!) and I don't want to give them headaches from trying to parse their text. Watching RevScarecrow struggle to read OG Homestuck even when using the Unofficial Homestuck Collection's dyslexic-friendly fonts is more than enough to convince me this is worth investing time into.
OTHER STUFF
I mentioned a Visual Novel project last month that I've been dabbling in. I have continued to work on it piecemeal, but I don't want to go into more detail here because my goal with this project is to work on it as privately as I can. The last time I announced a big project and shared it online was Junkion's Treasure, and I'm very ashamed and saddened by how that project withered and died so publicly. Just know that it's still something that I'm dabbling in every now and then.
I haven't had any time to research Etsy shopping, so no progress has been made on that front.
I've been considering deleting my Twitter as I find it tiring and upsetting to be there more often than not. For now I'm going to hop in and schedule some art posts every Friday at 3:45pm Eastern and see how that shakes out during the month of April. The only major reason I have to stay on Twitter is to share my work and be discovered, so if I see no progress on that front after some time passes focused solely on that, then I'll take my business elsewhere.
