Hey everyone! Here are the (late) details on everything I worked on in the month of July, exclusively for patrons!

Cupertino

Most of my development work in July was finishing up the update my Firefox theme Cupertino, which now more closely matches Apple's upcoming macOS 26 update. I already wrote a post about that, so go check that out if you missed it.

The only new change since that post is that Mozilla has approved the listing for the old theme, so you can now install with one click from the Firefox add-ons marketplace, it just like the new theme.

Tech Tales

There was a new episode this month, and this one was a Movie Club! I discussed the 1999 docu-drama Pirates of Silicon Valley, with Zachary Wander and Katie Janzen returning as guests. You can listen on SoundCloud, YouTube, or any podcast app.

The Spacebar

I published one article on The Spacebar in June: I tried Servo, the undercover web browser engine made with Rust. It was in the top five posts on Hacker News for a while, and got shared in a few other places, which was pretty cool.

You can subscribe to The Spacebar as an email newsletter, or follow new posts through the RSS feed, the Mastodon account, or Bluesky.

Nexus Tools

I released a minor update to my Nexus Tools installer in July, which fixed some bugs with the update check and GitHub builds. It also replaces the donation message at the end with a prompt to subscribe to The Spacebar. It only pops up on the initial Nexus Tools setup, not when reinstalling or updating Google's packages.

I have some other infrastructure/runtime ideas in mind for Nexus Tools, like a possible native ARM Windows port, but it's still working well for its intended purpose.
