This is the first ~50 seconds of an incomplete video about Maester Aemon and his Targaryen past, explaining how he's related to the younger generation of Daenerys and Viserys. The script goes on to explain Aemon's family, the events that led to Aegon V's kingship, Aemon's joining the Wall, his themes of honour and vow-keeping, and how they relate to Jon – it'd be about 5 minutes long, all up.

I never ended up finishing this video because I kinda lost interest. If you'd like, though, I'd happily go back and finish it. This would probably mean revising the script a bit and re-recording the audio, but should still be relatively quick to complete.

The alternative, for the next video, is something on Jojen Paste – the theory that Bran eats some Jojen in the weirwood paste Bloodraven gives him. It's a pretty fun topic because it's one of the few crazy-sounding theories that actually might be totally true. It also has dark implications for Bran and Bloodraven more generally. I've already started on a Jojen Paste script, so it should be possible to complete the video in this last crazy-busy month before I go full-time (:

So my preference is to make the Jojen Paste video next, but I wanted to show you what I have of the Aemon video, and hear your input on what you'd like to see next. (We'll have another big topic vote in December). So what do you think – Aemon or Jojen Paste? Thanks!Shift

I'm all for both, personally! Not sure if this is considered how we 'vote' but I love anything and everything you do!

Alt Shift X

Yeah I could always do one now, and another later (: For now, I just wanted to get a general sense of what you all prefer through comments – we'll do more actual votes on topics later on Thanks mate!

Either is good by me. Perhaps Aemon, by a whisker, because he brings in more issues from the South, and we've spent a lot of time with 'Northern' issues recently.

I've never been convinced by the Jojen Paste theory, and usually I love the crackpot ones. From the moment we meet Jojen he's talking about 'knowing the day he'll die', and then he's killed without anyone knowing or seeing? Doesn't feel right. I don't mind which video you do, but if you do Jojen Paste, make it convincing!

Ashley Alexander

Aemon, for sure... but they are both great picks!

DrNutella

Honestly Aemon is cool but also kinda lame, i'm all for Jojen.

Jaime's girl

I'd like to hear about both eventually! But I am more interested in Aemon- especially because he just died on the show this past season, it might be more timely to put out this video now rather than later!

I think most people know to some level or another Maester Aemon's background. It'd make a good catch-up vid to have it all explained in one place. But the Jojen Paste theory sounds really out there and something that the majority of people be unaware of, so I'd go with that and save Aemon for another time.

Pidgeon Pie is a Lie

Maybe it could be fun for show-only-watchers (are there any? I'am new here :D) to see where Aemons Plot changes from the books, because while the SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER overall outcome stays more or less the same the circumstances are quite different.

Jojen paste has always been my favorite "crackpot theory," so I'd love to see it! :-)

Andrew Garttmeyer

Considering I know the history of Aemon, and I never heard the Jojen paste one, AND you seem more interested in it... Jojen Paste.

Prototype

I've never heard of the 'Jojen Paste Theory' so would be nice to see video for that one.

I have to say my preferences is for Aemon...it dies in the three novellas, which were just released in the single volume, "A Knight of the7 Kingdoms". Too many GoT fans don't read, and the backstory will be popular. But the paste, never heard of the paste, completely missed it when I read the books, and I must say I am totally interested in the paste...

Well, Preston Jacobs recently went over how important it was for the Targaryen line that Aemon (who could have married into a line that would create a new age of dragons) went to the celibate and anti-magic maesters, but what he didn't go into and what I haven't seen much of us the thematic resonance of his story and the mysteries left behind with his death. I've always liked the way you analyze literary themes and hilight really bittersweet character drama and parallels, so if you did continue with Aemon, I think there'd be some fun stuff you could contribute. However with either vid, I'd be happy!

Jonathan Melenson

Having just finished The Hedge Knight novellas, I have become interested in the Aemon backstory whereas before I really didn't care about Targaryen lineage. That said, I find the Jojen-paste theory far more intriguing. I've read a fair bit online about the supporting evidence since I was first made aware, so some of the mystery/excitement for that video has faded, but you always have an interesting take so my vote goes to Jojen.

Gung

I'd like to see both this and the Jojen paste vids completed to be honest. Anything for all round better understanding of mysteries and theories in the books. Keep up the great work! :)

Alt Shift X

Yeah I'd like to do a Renly vid some time, no specific plans atm though.
