Can we talk about how that fire consumed the Temple of the Dosh Khaleen in 0.3 seconds? Someone should have told them not to make it out of cardboard...

Jason Rattray

Sooooo..The Unburnt Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and of the First Men Queen of Meereen Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea Breaker of Chains Mother of Dragons and the unburnt arsonist of Temple of the Dosh Khaleen?

Will Shelton

So GRRM has said that Targaryens are not immune to fire and that what happened to Dany at the end of "Game of Thrones" was a miraculous circumstance, right? Guess D&D really want her to truly be the Unburnt permanently.

Nikolai Nystrom

Will, we're very much dealing with different worlds, book vs TV. I don't mind it as that was epic.

Elizabeth Frum

THE UNBURNT holy moly that was awesome.

Andrew Lowe

Great episode. Love how Khalessi didn't need Drogon this time around, and at the same time dragons and magic are abound so maybe this strengthens her fire immunity? Wow, can't wait for the video :D

Okay, so in show canon, they've now established Dany as fireproof when she wants to be, and resurrection as really pretty easy as long as there's a red priest or priestess around. Dany has fire to burn and soon both Dany and Jon will have a red priestess. Doesn't that start to make things a bit obvious? Loved some bits of the episode - Jonsa reunion, Jon as anti-war (predicted!), war v diplomacy in Meereen - but ranked lower than last 2, equal with episode 1 imho.

Man, do you ever sleep?! :p Keep it up! (But have some sleep)

Badass of the Week

I'm under the impression she (or her khaleesi buddy) pre-soaked the interior with some kind of lamp oil or something to make it more flammable

The amount of influence the red priests/priestesses have is huge now.. Still hoping they won't be the winning religion, and I have no idea which religion would triumph

I've been giving it more thought since last night, and it just seems to take away from her dimensions as a character. Her fear of her dragons is what makes Dany believable. She has this awesome power at her disposal, but like fire, has to handle it carefully. The choice to make her permanently fireproof, while giving her more independence and agency as a character, comes at the cost of erasing all consequence of self-destruction. Edit: I should clarify that lore revisions and world reconstruction don't bother me so long as the choices make sense and further a compelling narrative. I just disagree with D&D's directorial decisions... unless it leads Dany to adopting megalomaniacal hubris like her father, which would be fun to watch.

Sansa and John hug for the thumbnail for this one?

Ryan Steele

Sansa and Jon was the highlight for me
