Very satisfying! 😍I'm already worried about next week being the season finale. 😥

Pretty great episode, was fairly disappointed by the season so far but yeah this almost made up for it. Great stuff, hopefully Ep. 10 will be just as good! Can't wait for your video, how is it stress level wise? Pushing out one of those every week seems pretty crazy to me, can't thank you enough for it but yeah hope you are doing well! :)

Seeing those dragons, fearsome and full-fledged, flying and attacking together was just magical... It made me recall a passage from ADWD (Tyrion): "Once a man has seen a dragon in flight, let him stay at home and tend his garden in content, someone had written once, for this wide world has no greater wonder."

Episode of the season. The show has scooped the books on Dany flying her dragons into battle, and it's thrilling to behold. Jon stalked around the battlefield like he was Daniel Day Lewis in Five Points, and there were so many horses. Honestly, I kind of enjoyed the slower paced meeting of Dany and the Greyjoys as well.

Yeah it's crazy intense doing these weekly vids, but once the season's done, I'll have time to recuperate, and to put together a better, more efficient production process using Patreon support. That way, I'll be able to make better videos more quickly, without having to work crazy unsustainable hours (: Thanks René!

Brilliant! Best battle sequence I've ever seen. I felt all of it--the anxiety, fear, claustrophobia, horror. I couldn't breathe right there with Jon. Now that's storytelling done right. Amazing Kit Harrington, amazing cinematography, amazing storytelling. Great ending for Ramsay (rest in pieces, you shit). Makes up for everything wrong with last episode!!

Is this the nearest thing to a pure 'good news' episode we've had in all six seasons? Finally, after five seasons of being butchered, the Starks win a big one. I really enjoyed it; it was exciting and dramatic and very well-made. Besides the actual battles, I thought the Dany meeting with Yara/Asha was very good - kindred spirits. So, a great episode; I just hope we don't get many more like it. I'd prefer the show to be generally less predictable.

Sooo is Melisandre a goner next episode? R+L=J=Azor Ahai?

I do feel that Sansa not telling Jon about the Knights of the Vale coming to assist them is like Sansa springing her own trap on Ramsay, as Sansa does know that Jon is bound to fall into any trap that Ramsay sets for him, especially if it involves Rickon, and no twenty foot giant is going to help with that unless he has a really big stick

I loved it. Ramsay's fate was properly foreshadowed and perfectly edited & paced. However, it pissed the hell out of me that Tyrion accused Theon of dwarf jokes back in Winterfell when, in their scene in 1x02 it was Tyrion who was making the insults. Was that a deliberate demonstration that even Tyrion can misremember events or just incontinuity on the part of the writers?

Mark Douglas

The cinematography in this season has been exceptional, but that was on another level. Paced and choreographed perfectly with all emotions, sadness in Davos, Rickon and Wun Wun's side-plots, happiness in the overall outcome with both battles and even claustrophobia with that stampede. I love how Sansa's character has developed. Tyrion seen something in/foreshadowed her character, after he saved her from Meryn Trant in Season 2, "Lady Sansa, you may survive us all yet".

I can really feel the pace of the series increasing as we get towards the end of the story. Wonder what this season's cliffhanger will be. I'm hoping the Others make it south of the Wall.

I hated this episode for several reasons, but above all: An entire five years, and an entire sixth season, building up to support everything GRRM did to reveal the confirmation of the Bolt-On Theory, with 'undead' Roose coming back in S9E9 to steal Ramsay's face, ask to Take the Black, and then be perfectly positioned to facilitate the White Walker /Other incursion. All destroyed by Lady Bolton of House Lannister girl-powering a dog to Ramsay's face. Book Sansa would be horrified by her TV counterpart's turn to the Dark Side. And Yara/Asha/the Dothraki not Reaving/Raping/Pillaging? Are you kidding me? I've been working a fan of Dany since her first chapter in Book 1, but at this point, Yara would be a MUCH BETTER Queen than they're setting up Dany to be.

The action episode that we all knew was coming... and the women are rising to more powerful positions with each season! Sansa's little smirk as she walks away from Ramsay being devoured was classic. Her mother would be proud!

The cinematography here is stunning and just utterly gorgeous! And I loved the series! I only feel that however it was predictable.

Jeremy Elliott

Not sure what your plans are with this video, but I think it would be worth making a comparison between Bastardbowl and the Battle of Cannae.

Louis Williamson

I thought the battle was really predictable, and that both Jon and Ramsey are awful commanders: Jon did the stupidest possible thing in charging, and Ramsey sacrificing his own men was stupid as his only weakness is his mens' loyalty, or rather lack thereof. Then Ramsey surrounded his smaller foe - Battle Tactics 101: do not do a full surround; give them a route for retreat and you will rout them. Had he done that the wildlings would have prolly routed way before the Vale Knights arrived. And then of course Sansa was extremely immoral in not telling Jon about the Vale knights: had he known reinforcements were on theway he could have waited, then attack with the Vale knights to probably rout the northerners due to such ludicrous outnumbering, and thus very few of Jon's men would have to die. This way they'd also probably kill less notherners, thus giving them less reason to hate him and more reason to bend the knee.

Louis Williamson

That said, the acting, cinematography and effects were absolutely stunning, so it's kind of a mixed bag.

Louis Williamson

That is, assuming he and his loved ones aren't burned alive... Dragons are awesome, but innocents are bound to die

Casimirrx

Who would Hannibal be, Sansa or Ramsey? John Snows plan in his tent would certainly seem to be one like Hannibal's of falling back and falling back but it seems he was drawn into a trap (also similiar to Hannibals) just as Sansa predicted he would be. I had the impression John Snow 'knew nothing' of Little Finger and Sansa's alliance?

Lethewards Sunk

Beautiful cinematography, weak script writing. Why do they have to hang a lantern on the mad queen Cersei stuff? It feels like they think the audience are idiots.

Amy McCracken

Personally, best episode or at least top 3 for me. The cinematography alone was simply movie quality on a small screen. It's crazy. You can tell this episode took up a large portion of their overall budget. I thought the writing was great, Jon in all his greatness, still is a bit naive and Sansa tried to warn him. We knew Ramsay would toy with him, and we all knew Rickon was not coming out of this alive. So even though parts were predictable, I think that's also the beauty of it. We're in 6 seasons now and we know these characters and their tendencies/qualities. To make them do things out of character(ie Arya walking about like nothing is wrong in Braavos after quitting a assassins cult) would be annoying in itself. I try not to read into too many things that the writers could have done or saying this would make way more sense...gotta remember this is complete fantasy/fiction. So sometimes have to let some of those ideas of how a character should have responded, go. Overall, this season has by far surpassed my expecations. Huge revalations left and right and this battle was amazing to watch. I was literally holding my breath when Jon was being trampled and was so uncomfortable on the edge of my seat with my hands to my face. I honestly can't believe that Tormond or Davos didn't die. I kind of expected that being that this is GOT afterall and killing people off is the usual. So not killing people in some cases has now quickly become the surprise for me. Gotta love it.

Louis Williamson

I agree with you on everything except bolt-on - GRRM believes that evil is found in men, not evil monsters, so Bolt-On doesn't fit thematically. But yeah, Sansa's gine all sadist, and there's no way the Dothrika we saw from season 1 would be cool with no raping and stuff - it's bad enough that they're happy with a magical woman who killed their leaders ruling them.

Georgia K

Most unlikley shot was when Davos and Jon had both scrambled up and hoisted themselves above the crush. only knights breathe? Sansa scares me, she was so bent on revenge, so untrusting (of Jone) that she kept back information that could ahve saved many lives. She is damaged goods schooled in the Game by Littlefinger and still stupid. Dangerous.
