Calling it now – Davos will demand justice for the killing of Shireen, so Jon will execute Melisandre with Longclaw. Mel's inner fire will enter the sword, making it Lightbringer, the red sword of heroes, completing Jon's rebirth as Azor Ahai.

This begs the question though: how cam Melisandre be the Nissa Nissa to Jon's Azor Ahai? Surely she will only be the second of the three tries that Azor did in order to temper Lightbringer, the first being the obvious spellforging in Valyria. The second attempt, that with lions blood, ties Malisandre to lions in a slightly roundabout and completely tinfoily manner involving Lannisters or Reynes or whatever you want to believe at this point. Jesus, all this tinfoil is making me hungry for a ham sandwich

What about Melisandre telling Arya that they will meet again?

Alt Shift X

Good point. Though honestly it wouldn't surprise me if they just let that foreshadowing slide

I still believe after watching how the others were made that lightbringer is not a sword but a living weapon, a fire wight counterpoint to the ice wights. You picked up on the hints in your azor ahai video, he kills nissa nissa in a creepy sacrificial manner, what i imagine to be close to the ceremony that made the wight walkers. Davos will demand justice and jon will likely give it to him. She did refuse to respect his DNR order afterall. Melisandre will get a taste of her own medicine and be burned alive!!

Alt Shift X

Haha yeah personally I doubt that the Nissa Nissa story is really meant as a step-by-step prescription of how Lightbringer comes to be. Not everything is a prophecy.

Interesting idea, I am excited to see if you have called it correct!

If everyone is right and Jon is Azor Ahai, I think Thoros will aid him in the transition from Jon > Azor Ahai. Thoros seems to have much more power than Melisandre for some reason and can actually give swords a flame (Berics sword). Thoros also seems to be sure that the white walkers are coming somehow, which is odd considering no other red priestess/priest seems to be concerned about it. "We're here for a reason, Beric is here for a reason"

Also, I wonder if the Brotherhood will be heading north in the books also? Maybe that will be Lady Stonehearts end game, somehow assisting Jon in beating the Others . The entire Brotherhood show plot is getting a bit odd as I have no idea how that's going to happen in the books.

The old Jon certainly couldn't have killed her, so if the reborn Jon can, that will certainly show a change. I dunno, if it happens, I feel like Davos will swing the sword himself.

If you would have been right about the Arya/Faceless man conspiracy (your way would have been WORLDS better) I would be calling bullcrap. You must have some sort of inside info (like others in the news). However, I like that you do not let past false prophesies deter you (sort of like Melisandre!)

carlos

Why didn't they try to resurrect Rickon? He was the king in the north.

Hodor Targaryen

Very interesting. If they do this, I wonder if Melisandre turns non-glamoured as her head is chopped off. Would be cool to see their reactions.

BTW, we'll know if you're right during the 'previously on Game of Thrones'. If they remind us of Stannis receiving his flaming sword on the beach at Dragonstone, it's on. Otherwise, casual watchers won't even remember what the red sword of heroes was. I'll be watching keenly!

Red-headed Melisandre will be a stand-in for red-headed Ygritte ;-)

Paul Vahur

Arya will meet the Lightbringer.

Not sure if I am reading too much in to it but I was very struct by Sansa saying TWICE that noone can help. Noone? Isn't Arya finally Noone?

Georgia K

Seems to me that she seems to have lost faith in herself and was telling Jon that maybe he was brought back to die, and could accept that for herself willingly now. She is ready to go, isn;t that why we have seen how old she is?
