Here’s a video introducing the characters and world of HOTD! No spoilers – it’s just background information on the show, the book, and the main characters, drawing from Fire & Blood and HOTD interviews. I hope this is a good entrée before HOTD S1E01 on August 21! We’ll do weekly livestreams and weekly videos for each episode of the season.

Patreon supporters normally get videos about a day before everyone else – but since these weekly HOTD videos are time-sensitive, they might only be a few hours early for Patrons. But there’ll still be early Patron-only previews and snippets on the Discord throughout the week!

Thanks for your support

4 MORE SLEEPS 'TIL DRAGON DAY! This is not a drill, people! 🥳

This is a great intro to the show! I loled at the John Travolta cameo. I’m very glad you did this video cuz now I can explain things to my family members and keep up my reputation as the only one who knows what’s going on 😂 can’t wait for all the stuff. Thanks!

I just hope they don’t portray Rhaenyra and Alicent the same way they did Arya and Sansa during the early seasons of GOT, where Rhaenyra is the cool tomboy who rides dragons and Alicent is the stupid girly girl who does stupid girl things like embroidery (and I say this as someone who prefers Rhaenyra). As much as I love Fire & Blood, I really think George is stretching the truth when he says that both sides are equally bad. The Blacks are so clearly written as morally superior to the Greens, right down to the token “good” Green prince deciding to slaughter a village of innocent people to avenge a dead relative whose murderers had already been executed for their crime.

I'm cautiously optimistic for the show, thanks to GRRM's involvement. Granted, the final season of GOT burned me hard. I mainly want GRRM to finally finish Winds of Winter. I look forward to all of Alt Shift X's upcoming HOTD content.

I'm watching the video right now and it's great as always. Though... would you mind giving some prior notification here on patreon? I was refreshing this site earlier today and I thought - still nothing new. Then suddenly that notification popped up on YouTube. Maybe I'm blind so nevermind. Keep up this amazing work! I would love to read your thoughts on Westworld season 4 btw.

I suggest turning on notifications on the Patreon app! You can also get email notifications. Though in this case the Patreon release was only a few hours before the public release anyway, because the show's coming out in a couple days 😬
