This is one of the most important superhero movies of all time. To me, the top five are Spider-Man 1, The Dark Knight, Iron Man 1, Batman 1989, and Christopher Reeves Superman. This is in no particular order.

Man, MJ really is a bit of a pass-around in this movie. I didn't realize it as a kid, but rewatching it as an adult, goddamn. Like she has her own problems as well, I get that, but flirting with Pete while being with Harry and then in the next scene kissing Spider-Man even though he could just be some random dude you don't know. That's a triple whammy!

Hmm... so many scary scenes that play with camera work and jump scares and almost like the director knows horror movies or something and thus knows how to get reactions from an audience while also maintaining a certain level of camp... I mean, it's not like it was directed by a director long famous for making campy horror movies or anything. Though that wrestling announcer and Uncle Ben's car looked strangely familiar... :P

My thoughts on the “spider-men” is Toby McGuire 70% Peter Parker 30% Spider-Man, Andrew Garfield 85% Spider-Man 15% Peter Parker, Tom Hollande 65% Spider-Man 35% Peter Parker. Tom is a solid mix of both, a lot due to his great acting skills but a Toby Peter Parker and an Andrew Spider-Man would be amazing

Apparently that scene with Peter catching MJ's lunch so perfectly was done without special effects, so they just did it over and over until they got it right. Props to the actors for not flubbing their lines after they finally got the perfect stunt take.

man, the music and themes in this film are 9/10. most the rest is like 6/10 though... Peter parker parallel to Norman osborn as supers and the duality of their ideologies contrasting was great. it was weird how even in his insanity the goblin tried to nurture spider man to share power but his own son was never nurtured at all...

Concerning the Uncle Ben talk about the fight, keep in mind Ben also doesn't know Peter launched him unintentionally. Likely all he heard was Peter got into a fight and that it wasn't even close, then Peter just chest punched him down the hall. To him that sounds awfully like someone who knows they have an overwhelming advantage who could've subdued Flashed easily, using excessive force. So while his words may not exactly apply to this particular scenario, he doesn't have the full details like we do as viewers. Always have to look at it form the characters POV and the info they have at hand when saying this stuff.
