"Earth hates hulk" kind of what happened in some of the comics. It is more they didn't trust the hulk and sent him packing into space. He did very well for himself becoming the number 1 gladiator, eventual leader, and even got himself a wife. At least that is the comic series where this gladiator world concept was taken from. I really love the changes this movie makes. They all are for the better.

One nitpick I have is that in the comics and the original Viking lore hela was supposed to be Loki’s daughter she actually didn’t care for Loki’s mischief

I always had a so so relationship with the thor movies, just because they never seemed to take themselves seriously. Not to say that Thor itself isn't a goofy character, but I never felt Hemsworth was the right kind of goofy for Thor, and may have been more of a visual typecast. It's pretty frustrating at times to watch something as well done as Winter Soldier where everything is taken seriously, and then thor can't let much happen without some form of quip or joke (which is a pretty common complaint with marvel the longer the MCU went on)

Love the reaction/commentary, this movie is definitely up there, if my calculative calculations are correct, you are starting to reach the peak of marvel, after endgame the fall off is crazy except for like gotg 3 and spooder-man. Oh the duality of of being a viewer, happy you uploaded and sad, that now I have to wait another week. Still W content

Cant wait til you see black panther, by far the best movie in my opinion close tie for me soundtrack wise, would be the spider man across the spider verse soundtrack. Can't wait to see Alicia's tension between Chadwick and micheal B jordan.

I got a love/Hate relationship with this movie. On one hand it’s a solid entry to the mcu and great film overall. On the otherhand they completely shit on one of the best hulk movies/comics. The gladiator fights, Sakaar, Korg, miek; all things from the comic and animated film planet hulk that takes place after earth deemed him too dangerous and shot him into space. In planet hulk, hulk liberates Sakaar and becomes its new just ruler with a queen and child on the way. One of the few times we see hulk happy, and all of this is cannon to the main marvel timeline so it could have been live action. But I understand why they didn’t go all in (fuck you she hulk) but they did character assassinate Korg which is my main problem with the film. Comic and animated Korg was such a wise and tragic character becoming one of hulk’s trusted friends. In this he’s just the stupid comedic relief. He’s a fun character but he should have been an original not an adaptation of a preexisting. Well that’s my Ted talk for the day TLDR great film terrible adaptation Watch “planet Hulk”

I know I might be in the minority on this, but in hindsight this where Marvel movies started going downhill for me, this is not a bad movie, but they started swerving too far away from the source material for my liking...specially with how they handled the Planet Hulk stuff

The reason Valkyrie is so traumatized by the battle with Hela is that the woman who threw herself in front of the blade to save her, was her lover. Also, this is my favorite Thor movie, Hulk is so adorable in it.

fun fact the details of the grandmaster he is the brother of The Collector from the guardians of the galaxy and the two of them are actually some of the oldest beings in the marvel universe so the little throwaway line of him being millions of years old is huge lowball.

Cute bit you missed at the end, when Thor waved to the guys behind him and you called him a 'dork' (accurate) you apparently missed a little girl in the far right that waved back. Probably wasn't scripted but I found it cute. The downside, this is kind of the start of Marvel dunking on Thor. :/

I've been loving Alica geeking out over bits that are used/referenced in Marvel Rivals. It's kinda nice to see people getting into Marvel via a new vector and getting hyped over the aspects they recognize that are different than my usual frame of reference for characters/events.

So, sad reason we never get a hulk movie is that universal studios owns the movie rights for Hulk. Meaning unless they agree on a price, hulk is never getting a solo movie and is also a reason he appears the least in other movies. It's why so much of his development happens off screen.
