The Couple Aura grows! Neither Amane nor the editor are buying Gojo’s denials. Again with the walk away scene just showing their legs and the ep 1 head tilt up, their growing synchronization of these little moves are just a delightfully subtle indication of just how close they are becoming. Seeing it in motion just has so much more impact than the manga panels. The Karaoke scene hits different in the manga since these two events were switched for the anime. Gojo’s conversation with Amane sets up the realization that Non-chan was the only person who has put him down.

Gojo talking about Marin being different while modelling reminds me of The Dangers In My Heart (another PEAK romance anime everyone should check out) with the talk of it being such a "different world" that the MC feels out of place in. it's such a great and deep topic, I love it!

That whole scene with amane and hearing about their ex girlfriend bashing their cloths really pays off with gojo and marin celebrating shizuku's birthday. And yeah the universe is doing everything it can to tell gojo that he and marin are already dating

To be fair, Sakamoto Days is toxic for reactionary content. For one, you have the split release, with Netflix Japan getting each episode 1 week earlier than the rest of the world. If you react to that episode, you'll miss out on the views of people who first want to watch the show themselves and don't want the reaction to spoil it. If you don't react to the earlier release, you'll miss out on views of people who either pirated it or used a VPN to watch it, because they're already 1 additional episode ahead. It's a lose-lose-situation. Then you also have the problem that the anime adaptation is perfectly average, which is generally speaking fine, but the recent adaptations of Weekly Shounen Jump series (Undead Unluck, Elusive Samurai, Dandadan) all were produced in ways that can be considered vastly superior to the manga they are based on. Makes an average adaptation look that much worse in comparison. Also doesn't help that the Sakamoto Days manga fandom absolutely loathes the anime. They're treating the Sakamoto Days anime even worse than "TBATE" fans are treating their "anime". That's quite a feat in and of itself.

One thing they didn't clarify in the anime vs the manga, is Marin pays him for his crafting time, not just paying for materials. I guessing juju influenced that when she paid him for the black lily anime cosplay in season 1. I'd bet that paid work relationship is what nervous panicked gojo was trying to explain when he said that have a relationship based on money.

What happened to Amane is lowkey similar to the reason why Dress Up Darling exists. An author's friends relationship ended over them not liking that author's friend cosplayed. So out of spite the Author made Dress up Darling xDD

I kind of get why the anime leaves that out, though. While paying for services is really important, even among friends (otherwise it's taking advantage) it would absolutely complicate relationships. Framing it as a pure mutual desire to make cosplay outfits feels easier to navigate without the chance for monetary abuse or dependency concerns.

The English dub makes the “Our relationship is based on money” moment even funnier because they translated it as “She gives me money and I do things” 🤣
