Watch "Thor- Love and Thunder 1x1" on Streamable.

Comments

Andhy salvatore

Oh no not this movie😭😭 but no complaints here😂😭

Brandon J.M.L Burrows

An unexpected, but welcome surprise as soon as I just finished making pancakes!

Jackal Sniper

This is certainly one of the movies of all time

David Bland

My mom was a huge Thor fan. She died of brain cancer before this movie came out. She would have loved it.

Ranginald Vagel

Ah, Gorr. Out out of all characters MCU has ever used, this was the biggest combo of wasted actor and wasted character. And it was STILL the best part of the movie. Still gonna watch though. Not that bad. Just waaaaaaay worse than it could have been.

Sean Cruz

Guys this movies isnt that bad. At least its not Ant-Man3 or The Marvels

nervouspirate

Big ooof, really excited for next week though. You should record your reaction to reading about Chadwick Boseman before you watch. Also, BIG HEADS UP, prepare yourself for ocean stuff.

Ali

Right when I’m boutta go to bed

Rowdeemunkee

Oh....yeeeea I'm ok on this one. I'll check back in for the next show. Much love.

Patrick Waldeck

Feels like an entirely different movie when Christian Bale is on screen. Gorr is a cool villain but the writing in this film took a nose dive off of Yggsrasill straight to Helhiem. There are also a bunch of deleted scenes with Russell Crow that make Zeus not seem like a complete buffoon and actually contribute to the narrative and I can't comprehend why they didn't leave any of those in.

Silver Screen

Yeah... Tgis is about the movie that marked the death of the MCU for me. It's the apparent refusal to take it's own characters seriously for me.

14k Gold

Yup... this is a movie. At least Wakanda Forever is next

Pell D. indestructible

I going to be honest this one is my least favorite Marvel movie, to me there's nothing worse than a bad comedy and this one was painfully unfunny all the way through while adapting storylines that really should've been played more seriously

Lee Aguera

Yeah....it's not good. Its really not good. Ill check back when we get to Thunderbolts.

PurportedGrey

You're not wrong, but it was just such a whiplash interms of the drop in quality. But those other 2 definitely are worse.

0megaJ0ker

I honestly forgot this movie exists.

Ryan valasquez

Man (I really wanted to like this movie when it came out, hoped that it'd be a satisfying story towards whatever was to come next for Thor)...this movie not a fan

Faroth

now finally im with you in the movies i havent watch yet, so lets do this!!!

5Tom51

LET'S GOOO

Faroth

i hope you watch Miss Marvel series before watching The Marvels

Sean Cruz

Oh yeah no doubt the quality decrease was bad but I was suprised people hated this movie since people liked Ragnarok and this is the same director

DanielTheHamster

Goat 1- baaaah Goat 2- Bleeeeeehhhehehe Me - Mehhhhh

Jimmy H Lam

I actually liked Love and Thunder. It was fun, energetic, and the payoff at the end made the journey worth it for me.

Sev the Hollow

The only thing I like about this movie is the villain and that's it really. But I'm with you, I am looking forward to Thunderbolts, ready for therapist Alicia to join us and maybe have some tears too but that's just my guess cause it sure made me tear up a bit

Sev the Hollow

I've never seen it so I don't know if it's good, but it seems like it might be decent or good based off of your description of it

Sev the Hollow

It's Morbin time! But in all seriousness in a way i'm looking forward to it cause I have never seen it aside from just all the memes about it and the trailer. That's literally it so I don't know if it's good or bad.

Shino302

This was when Marvel started rushing production before they had a final script. Which is a shame because there is a good movie in here, it’s just buried under a lot of bad jokes. I really like Jane’s ending (in the comics she doesn’t die which just felt unsatisfying) and Thor learning that letting himself love again means he has to be willing to be hurt again and accepting that is great. If they just let Taika cook it could have been great. I still like it more than Ragnarok just because it doesn’t undercut the dramatic scenes with jokes.

Sev the Hollow

AH!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?! I DON'T NEED PTSD YOU ABSOLUTE MONSTER OF HALO 2!!

ThatoneGuyoverThere33

The movie is OK, but I always love the joke about Korg's SO. Dwayne " The Rock"

14k Gold

It's pretty good, thought it was a good tribute to Chadwick Boseman. Then again it's pretty much a masterpiece when it's in between Thor: Love and Thunder and Ant-Man: Quantumania

Gregory Prytyka Jr.

Hope you ramp up on the other MCU series you're missing out on, specifically The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

Iron_claw

Oh this movie i remember this movie ya I went and saw it in theaters on day 1 and I walked out of the theater before the movie got even got half way done because of how garbage trash ass shit it was

KatoBen

IMHO, they tried to do way too much in this movie with so little time. I believe everything would have been so much better if this was made into a two parter. Let Gor be the powerhouse he is in part 1, then introduce the Mighty Thor in part 2. The flow would have been so much better.

Adam

Dude, seriously, WTF. Don't talk about characters that show up later. You will be banned for that.

Adam

Eh, could be worse, could FF 2015

Adam

Kinda like Civil War being after IM3 and Dark World

Adam

Both of those aren't that bad either. FF 2015 is bad. Those are more.. mid.

Michael

Oh no. We're here

Michael

YEZZZ JOHN WALKER LESSS GOOOOOOO

Pcdruid

This is the movie that caused me to stop watching Marvel movies.

14k Gold

Pretty much. Phase 4 and 5 were basically defined by "We're cooked! - 😱 We're back! - 🥳"

Eric Miller

Or ‘The New Mutants’. I think many of us have completely erased that film from our memories.

Oatmeal

Oh god, we're here, may god have mercy on our souls

Salmonero

Man GOTG 3 feels so far away 🥲

Oatmeal

My brother in Christ, anything bad looks mid when you compare it to Fan4stic

Alexander Saldivar

This was the movie that made people admit that Superhero movie fatigue was real, turning people against Taika Waititi, making a lot of people get tired of Marvel humor, and that made it mainstream to dunk on Phase 4.

Ed-96

Oh boy… tbf if you go in with the mindset that’s it’s a kid movie and you just turn your brain off, it’s not THAT BAD

Stardust Breaker

Another movie that I think gets overly hated, not that I think people should like it if they don’t. Just that the level of sheer vitriol some have feels unwarranted.

Fei Ashtear

The Marvels is good. As long as you've seen Ms. Marvel and wandavision first.

Sean Cruz

Seen both, still hot garbage of a movie

Thaïsgrün

I remember going to see this movie with my little brother on the first week-end. Especially after Ragnarock that we both love it was so bad, after 15 mn we wanted to do anything to make the experience enjoyable. Not the worst movie I saw in cinema (that would be the french film "Les deux mondes" or "Suicide squad" 2016) but never again, or not alone.

Adam Cook

I was never really okay with the idea that Thor adopts Gorrs daughter and says he will take care of her, and then takes her off to fight wars across the galaxy. Same with giving the kids Thor powers to fight the shadow monsters, when full power Thor was having difficulty with them at points. Doesn't both of those kinda prove Gorrs point about the gods being assholes who don't care about even innocent children?

Perfect Yarn

Love and Thunder came out first

red tone redtone

Huh so it did, I think I deleted that from my head

Mojo

This movie. Is not bad. It's not good - but not as bad as people said it was. It's better than the 2nd Thor movie imo tbh.

Yovan_Night (Purple Rain🟪)

The best part about this movie is Gorr, and he’s presented as an absolute bum with his actions - or lack there of. All he did on screen is catch one singular god off guard and killed them, and then kidnapped some kids. He deserved better for being such an awesome character, bro. His whole philosophy was damn near flawless when you look at every other god beyond the ones we know personally. He should’ve just went through with his OG plan tbh🤷

N00B

Its more about the relative quality drop compared to the MCU's peak, as well as the fact that what's wrong with this movie encapsulates the issues with current Marvel the best.

Imperial Guard

This is genuinely one of the worst movies I've ever seen in theaters. Easily the worst Thor movie for sure. I know a lot of people love Ragnorak but I genuinely don't. I love the first Thor movie and Thor 2 was just kinda mid. I genuinely had a hard time watching this movie when it came out.

N00B

I would kill and die for Alicia to replay the GoW trilogy and analyse the story with the same fervor she does movies. People love GoW 2018 and Ragnarok, but no great empire starts with shoddy foundations.

Thaïsgrün

Copium doesn't help, I'm sorry but there is no mindset that can make this movie enjoyable.

Ryan Whorton

Hell yeah! Such a great time.

Ryan Whorton

“Marvel humor” isn’t a thing

Thaïsgrün

Didn't finished it , that show was so bad!

Ed-96

This is easily my least favorite movie within the MCU, hell this is my second ever time watching it aside from theaters, I don’t like the movie I just don’t hate it🤷‍♂️

Jacob Funckes

I'll be honest, this movie isn't that bad really, except for two major problems. For one I just found the humor either unfunny or inappropriate whenever it happened during serious moments, a lot of times it was both. Secondly, and honestly most important, they absolutely butchered Gorr, pun unintended. If you look at the comics Gorr is such a threat that it required three separate Thor's just to beat him, which is to say that he's not a villain to be used in one movie and then forgotten, he's more like Thanos in that he should have been a multi movie villain. Also for the God Butcher he hardly killed any Gods on screen. Overall while the movie isn't that bad it had so much potential that just wasn't realized.

Switchchris27

This film gets WAY to much hate, as does most of the post-end game MCU movies. In my opinion there has never been a BAD MCU movie, the worst it gets is Mid, but even then this was not even a mid film, it just wasn't as good as Ragnarok. I would still put this above the first two thor movies and several of the other pre-end game MCU films like Ironman 2 and 3 and Antman 2. People just have rose tinted glasses and refuse to let go of nostalgia to enjoy the new things. After Ragnarok came out, people wanted more Ragnarok. What they got was more Ragnarok, its just that Ragnarok was half a comedy movie and by this point in the MCU, a lot of people were tired of the MCU being Half Comedy, so even if they did tone it down for this movie when compared to Ragnarok, people saw the Comedy in this and were overly mad about it. I think that without the Comedy this movie would just be depressing and way to serious. Sure they didn't strike a perfect balance, but its still a good watch. Gorr's potential was hindered greatly by Sony holding rights over Knull, the creator of the Necrosword (its a sword made of Symbiotes). If Marvel had rights for Venom and characters like Knull instead of Sony, they could have carried Gorr into being a multi-film villain that lead to Knull being the next biggest bad. Instead Sony kept the rights and now aren't even gonna use the character anymore.

Moviejunkie

I wonder if you’ll watch the Holiday special’s?

Robert Collard

I think she should definitely watch the GOTG Holiday special before GOTG 3

Jacob Funckes

Not to criticize your opinion but saying Love and Thunder is better than movies like Iron Man 3 is a massive stretch, sure Love and Thunder wasn't that bad and is overhated a bit but let's not pretend it's that good, I would much rather rewatch Iron Man 3, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and many other MCU movies before I ever watched Love and Thunder again. The main thing for me is that the humor felt really forced in a lot of the movie and felt nowhere near as natural as Ragnarok.

Goobert

While i agree, lets be real if she were going to analyse the story it'd have to be the Norse saga one, simply put while the og games (which are 6 not just 3, you require 6 for the full proper storyline) are great, they're not exactly storytelling masterpieces, the games focus far more on gameplay. The storyline of the newer ones would fit her far more, i believe

MMDXXX

"there has never been a BAD MCU movie, the worst it gets is Mid"... Um, yeah no, there are some genuinely bad MCU films and shows, and some are much worse then mid. Like that Eternals movie was absolute pointless boring garbage, even Alicia couldn't enjoy it! The new Captain America movie is the definition of wasted potential, Quantumania was a total mess, and The Marvels was a complete disaster! As for that certain abomination of a Disney+ series we must never speak of, I pray for Alicia's sanity that she never has to suffer through that painfully awful cringe-fest...

Goobert

Wha- how? How is gods, whose whole nature was being greedy and careless and hoarding power for themselves as per Gor, now sharing that power with young children to protect them, proving Gors point? The old gods left them to die, Thor helps them become strong so they don't have to rely on gods. You gotta be completely misunderstanding the point of the story to get that conclusion

MMDXXX

Don't worry, we'll get around to that actual decent film soon enough.

Dorran

This... is one of the movies that really bugged me. Like, there *is* a good story there, but someone really needed to rein Taika Waititi in on the jokes. They were enough to really take me out of the movie, unfortunately. What makes me properly aggravated with it is that... from what I've heard, the filming process and experience were a nightmare, with a half-finished script when they set to work on it. In the wake of it, Hemsworth has outright said that he would never work with another "mad genius" director again. I'm also really frustrated that Taika was being all snarky about the CGI being sub-par when *he* is the one who left the visual artists scrambling and struggling as badly as they were. Gor is an amazing villain in this, played by an outstanding actor, and when Thor and Jane are actually able to face the pain of how their relationship went... damn, it is powerful. I just wish that the forced humor hadn't been SO distracting. And... yeah. Sometimes, the lost potential of "what could have been" is one of the main things that can really drag a movie down for me. Loved your reaction, though, and I really appreciate your personal connection with several of the elements in the movie! Honestly, the kids going into battle with the power of Thor was the BEST part of the movie! XD

MMDXXX

Let's be real here, this isn't a good movie by any means, but at least it's entertaining for the most part. I guess it has "some" good moments, but it's mostly just the fun kind of stupid. XD

Verdigree

I think you’re totally right, this movie is trying to reconcile this comedic version of Thor with two or three seperate extremely heavy and philosophical arcs that happened over years of comics, for a movie with the man named “Gorr the God-Butcher”, the most theological this movie gets about what are gods in a world of super-heroes is all contained in the 30-second after credits

MMDXXX

Why does this Streamable video have no 360p resolution option like all the others do?... I know nobody really wants to watch these at such low quality like that, but unfortunately my internet is absolute dogshit, so I have no choice but to watch Alicia's Patreon reactions at 360p, cause at least they're functional and don't buffer/freeze every 2 seconds. But now that option isn't even available for this one, and I don't understand why.

N00B

I am sick and tired of this sentiment. "The original story didn't have good storytelling." It absolutely did. It was praised en masse for its storytelling. The first minutes of the first game show the MC jumping off a cliff towards his death because of the guilt of his actions. Actions you actually see in cutscene AND GAMEPLAY instead of it being told to you while riding a boat, climbing a cliff face or walking through the high-poly next-gen snow. The story was told in short, concise animatics and reinforced with gameplay that actually mattered to the narrative, rather than gluing your ass down for 10-15 minutes of exposition and acting interrupted by 10-15 seconds of killing enemies who's primary function is nothing more than providing gameplay because the writers suddenly remembered its supposed to be a GAME and not a MOVIE. Its you actually traveling through a world collapsing under the neglect and hubris of the gods as you witness in gameplay the horrors occuring, rather than you randomly pausing in the middle of a high-stakes battle to watch a mother and daughter reconcile their difference in the middle of A WARZONE. Let's be real here: Do you REALLY believe that if there wasn't any depth to Kratos' character prior to 2018, that what followed would be as "good" as it is? Do you really think this would be possible without the solid foundation that the previous games provided? Are you truly suggesting that Alicia, who watched the Incredible Hulk and Thor the Dark World despite suggestions to skipping it would even consider starting GoW anywhere but at the very beginning?

nervouspirate

Not even defending it, you just haven’t seen that many movies. I’ve seen movies that genuinely gave me a stomach ache they were so bad.

Houston

If you like dragons a lot, you REALLY should pick up on The Hobbit again. Smaug is one of the dopest dragons.

Adam Cook

He didn't help them become strong. He gave them a fraction of his power for a few minutes, then took it back. After that one fight, they are helpless kids who are doing some basic self defense courses. Maybe in time they will become strong on their own, but we certainly didn't see that happen. The old gods left them to die, Thor just gave a bunch of kids the space magic equivalent of rifles and bullet proof vests, then sent them to fight without any training or preparation. I know it's a silly movie and the point was kids being able to fight monsters, but I'm sorry I can't see that any other way. The real nail in the coffin though is Gorrs daughter, Gorr wanted her to live a good life and not suffer. So Thor, who the whole movie talks about how many people close to him have died and how his entire life is battle, decides to take her into battle? I'm fine with Thor adopting her, but can we maybe wait until she is a teenager before getting involved in wars?

Lt. Jolumbo

It is a 6 out of 10, but the fact that it's an adaptation of the God Butcher storyline really brings it down for people.

Seraphem

I'm with you, yeah, this movie isn't amazing, but it's just fun, and that's all I really need. It did try to do too much at once and fumbled some of it, and the tone was all over the place.... but I still enjoyed it.

RedRam-Ipsen

Honestly think Christian Bale as Gorr is the best thing about this movie. Ps. interesting fact there's 3 ways to get to Valhalla although the last one is "questionable". number 1 is Dying in combat number 2 is to get chosen by a Valkyrie and number 3 the more unlikely and rare possibility... Dying while having intercourse.

IFoundTheLight

Both Thor and Loki fell in love with versions of themselfs.

PrivateXimmy

Yeah, I thought DS2 was so / so, but this was the first movie I was genuinely excited for that was a real miss. We got more misses coming :/ I think we got light at the end of the tunnel now with the last few films, but yeah the stretch of phase 4 / 5 felt fucking brutal.

PrivateXimmy

The one after this is honestly petty good. Basically every movie from this point on has been 50/50 Black Panther 2 was great Ant man 3 was completely off mark Guardians 3 rocked The Marvels was like: nothing Deadpool 3 rocked Cap 4 was too safe Thunderbolts was fascinating Really hoping that Thunderbolts onward have bucked the trend, since thunderbolts on have been produced without the rigorous time tables of Disney under Bob Chapek

PrivateXimmy

I think it’s pretty telling that, after the media cycle for this film was over, Chris Hemsworth basically came out and said “yeah this character needs a new direction 👁️👁️” Like it’s certainly not the worst movie, but it did feel . . . strange. I think the cheeky tone lost a *lot* of fans, because it made these movies feel like they jumped the shark on still being authentic.

Moon

honestly better than I remember it being. the jokes were rough a lot of the time but I love the messages and parallels that this movie gives to Gorr and Jane

Supermew

I will forever be disappointed that the NSP song Thunder and Lightning wasn't used in this movie.

KatoBen

IMHO, I think this plot line would have worked out much better as a two parter. Give Gorr all the time he needed to really build up his character, then introduce Mighty Thor in part 2. As a side note, this phase of Marvel, the MCU was introducing the marvel Afterlife, various planes of existence where souls went to based on their beliefs. I won't say which other marvel property, but thus far from what (Alicia) has seen, we've now seen Valhaala and the Ancestral Plane from Black Panther. I'm also very glad to finally get Alicia's opinion on Jane's illness. The movie mentioned it inpassing, butthe comics explained things more thoroughly. Everytime Jane wielded Moljnier (I can't spell) it would wipe out the chemotherapy, but couldn't wipe out the cancer.

KatoBen

Also Moon Knight. I really loved Moon Knight, even though it's not a faithful adaptation.

YukoValis

I have to admit I didn't see this one. I got a bit of marvel fatigue for a bit, and the next few movies didn't help. I am happy to say we will be getting a banger or two still in the mix.

Switchchris27

@PrivateXimmy I would assume they are talking about She-Hulk, as its an overhated show that comic book fans love by haters will always point to as the worst thing ever.

DrakonFirestone

Fun facts: Love, Gorr's daughter, adoptive daughter of Thor's is played by India Rose Hemsworth, real-life daughter of Chris Hemsworth. the teenage Thor is played by Tristan Hemsworth and the wolf woman Thor is kissing is his wife - he bringed his freaking whole family to the movie xD

PrivateXimmy

Those pan-flips did look good

PrivateXimmy

Hey! Number 3 totally counts, that shit’s a battle of stamina!

dc

Fun fact: Chris Hemsworth's family is in this! His daughter is Love, his wife was the Wolf Woman, and his twins were a young Thor and one of the children captured by Gorr

RedRam-Ipsen

I personally 100% agree. 👍😆

JAMES D'ALESSANDRO

Unfortunately only Shang Chi, Dead Pool 3, and Eternals were worth watching after Endgame, and the fact that Eternals is at #3 it really means everything else is total shit. Dr Strange and Spiderman that came after not only contradict each other but they contradict every other movie and tv show that deals with the multiverse. The DCEU had better continuity

Hugo Andres Lozano

Touching on the whole Heracles Hercules thing, technically speaking Heracles is the Greek pronounciation and Hercules the Roman, but at the end of the day it’s really just semantics, he is much more widely known as Hercules and it’s such an insignificant thing that either way we know who they are referring to

Ric

This isn't Marvel's best. It had a lot of unfunny jokes. The screaming goat is not funny to me. Upside, this now leads to my favorite mcu movie, Guardians 3.

YukoValis

not yet, if we are going by the list. The next two movies well.. I really hope she doesn't get marvel fatigue like I did around this point. There is still good stuff ahead.

YukoValis

So a fun fact, the Necrosword is a symbiote capable of bonding with a human being. Which is basically the same kind of essence Venom has.

Derek Sanchack

58:05 Nah, you want the creepiest actor ever, Christian Bale is not it. Jack Nicholson. When I first watched The Shining, I knew nothing about it, except that it was apparently a famous horror movie based on a Stephen King novel. From the very first scene, I was like "Ok, he's the main villain." He didn't even need to do anything evil or disturbing. He was just having a job debriefing in an office. It was his smile. He has the naturally creepiest smile of anyone I have ever seen. I had to google it to make sure he wasn't actually a crazy serial killer in real life, because that smile made him look like one.

Matthew Newton

I thought people loved Guardians 3? And one of the newer movies, I forget which

Ric

I had completely forgot about those two.

PandaBH

I think the funniest thing about this movie and why I don’t like it is because you have Christian bale as your villain and his name is gorr the god butcher but only kills one god with him on screen. Sure he kills other gods but there not on screen fights.

PandaBH

I do like Christian bale I just wish he was used better

Robert Collard

I think what makes this such a divisive movie is the absolute tonal whiplash you get between scenes. One moment you are getting some serious shit from characters like Jane and Gorr and then it seems like out of nowhere we get a hard cut to comedy Thor scenes. What sucks is that Taika has created movies that have straddled the line with comedy scenes and then cold hard reality (Jojo Rabbit is a perfect example of this). However, the combination of COVID, the script having to be rewritten multiple times and other issues on set made it appears to look like Taika ultimately lost any enthusiasm for the film and it clearly shows at parts.

Hardish

No way Home, Guardians 3, Thunderbolts as well

ChaosSepher

Also should watch the Guardians Christmas Special first

Kyutoko

The most compelling thing about Gorr, aside from Christian Bale's IMPECCABLE performance, is that he was an angry, betrayed father. He wasn't evil. Rapu triggered the spark of hate in him, he still believed in his god right up until his god just, said he had no purpose other than to worship him. In that instance, the sword sensed the anger, the hatred, it spoke to him, latched onto him, cursed him. Everything after that point is basically the sword speaking to him and telling him what to do. He bears some of the responsibility, but the curse is to blame for most of what he did. When the sword was destroyed and Thor spoke reason to him, he realized, "oh, I'm the bad guy" and he had a change of heart. Now, while I agree this isn't a strong movie, I also agree, everyone needs to STOP comparing everything to Endgame. Okay, we get it, Endgame is peak cinema, just stop comparing EVERYTHING to it. There's stuff came out post-Endgame I like more than it, like Shang-Chi. I give Love & Thunder probably a 7.5/10, but Thor was one of my favorite Marvel characters BEFORE the MCU came around.

Dreadnought

Honestly, that was the first time I've seen this movie and I'm getting the same feelings I did when I watched Captain Marvel. This is what people were upset over? I think the actual bones of the movie are good. Gorr, and Christian Bale by extension, was FANTASTIC. I loved the themes the movie touched on, the parallels drawn between Gorr and Jane, and even some of the cinematography (The black and white in the Shadow Realm was such a cool touch.). My biggest problem is not with the humor itself, but with the timing of it. I feel like most of the serious beats of the film were well done and compelling, but the movie has a habit of putting a comedic moment right after a serious one and it derails all the tension. Probably a 7 for me. I enjoyed it and would watch it again. Maybe that's high to some, but the Marvel fandom post-Endgame has developed this habit of being either "The MCU is saved" or "The MCU is doomed" after every movie instead of watching them for what they are.

Robert Collard

I agree he should have been on screen killing more gods (some bad like the first one he killed, and some good like the one Thor talked about) We also should have had a fight scene between Gorr and Sif so we see how she loses her arm.

Azi

AHh yes the intor of this movie " i could watch a whole movie from his perspective and be down" Well... That is at least some of what i expected from this. We do get some cool scene. BUT it devolved to hacing this odd tone deaf "kids movie" vibe that is somehow supposed to fit in with some of the darkest theme ever explored by marvel like child death and cancer etc... Ohh and screaming goat... Just screaming goats almost non stop... The actors did their best i guess... Christian bale is as always amazing. So are the hero cast.

LuxCrank

This is my first time watching this movie and people always talk about it like it's the worst movie ever. It's kind of mid like every Thor movie. But it's really not bad and it's got a good rounding off for Thor's character.

Nick Lopez

Weird how she noticed Christian bale as Gorr but not matt Damon as off brand loki.

DrOverbuild8363

This movie had a lot of potential. Its not a bad movie, but like Alicia sad it was a little too jokey. They basically looked at the previous films, figured that Ragnarök did better because it was more of a comedy, and dialed that to 11 for this film. I loved the antagonist, Mjolnir falling apart and coming back together again is really cool, same for Zues's Thunderbolt, and Jane fighting cancer was tragic but fitting? I wish we had more interactions with other gods, the scene where Thor gave his powers to the kids was very corny and I wasn't a fan of it, again the film was to jokey and very awkward in places, they never told us what kind of cancer she was fighting which could've been important to know but I guess it doesn't matter since it was somehow stage 4, The Eternal (or was it Eternity) being in the center of the Universe sounds impressive but why the center? How is it harder to reach it for Gods with ways to teleport almost anywhere in the Universe? The Narrative jokey story telling was a bit much......I might be nit picking here, but its hard not too when you have such high expectations for these films after so many brilliant films. I just wish it was a little more serious. Also Korg mentioning he has 2 dads when in Ragnarök he mentioned his mom really confuses me and makes that feel forced in for brownie points or something.

Jacob Funckes

I assume they're talking about Secret Invasion, which is a steaming pile of garbage that I think the MCU currently is completely ignoring due to how bad it is.

Switchchris27

@Jacob Funckes They aren't ignoring it, it set up the Skrull A LOT, and the Skrull are a important part of a future story line. Just like how the Eternals set up the Celestials as a important part of the future MCU. People lack Patience. They spent 11 years prepping for Thanos, right now they are prepping for an even bigger saga that will end in a couple years. Yes it was one of the two weakest shows alongside Echo, but every show is important to future stories, they use the shows to set up stuff for the movies so they don't gotta spend a ton of time explaining stuff. Even the Werewolf by Midnight show was setting up stuff for the Midnight Suns. Everything exists to expand on the universe.

Faroth

Actually, really like it. Loved the myth references too

Azi

Tldr a 6/10 movie with a 10/10 potential if they focused more on the serious bits and explored the villain more. Not alot of got butchering going on...

The Seven Deadly Sins

This movie is a strange one for me. I like it over all, but it has a lot that's "why?"

Anzac-A1

The inclusion of one of the Maori gods was a very nice surprise.

Gildarts1#fan

If this film just focused on the serious jane cancer storyline and godbucher storyline, this could have been amazing, but too much comedy is stuffed in

Adrian

I feel called out about thr comforter bit because I sleep almost exclusively atop the comforter during the summer 😭 but this movie is a weird one for me. On one hand I do genuinely like the core of it. The action is good, the storyline between the main characters is good, the God Butcher is a solid 2nd best Thor villain. But then it tries too hard at the comedy that a lot of the jokes end up annoying, or the comedy ends up interrupting or ruining dramatic scenes and I hate that.

Notto

Matt Damon is an overrated actor I deadass only know him as the dude in Air Jordan and now Odyessues

Burn7G

The Valhalla scene was nice after seeing Moon Knight.

Notto

Spiderman would go crazy with that shit

Notto

Wakanda forever is a top 10 marvel movie if she liked Shang chi so much im sure she’ll like it aswell. Quantamania though….

Notto

It is a good movie. The marvels and captain marvel are the only mcu movies that are just flat out not good

Notto

You play oblivion bro stay quiet😂

Notto

Phase 4 isn’t even bad tho people just like to hate. It really only had a couple of misses which every phase has had but it got so much hate for coming after endgame

Notto

I’m really hoping she skips that one it’s just completely unessecary and leads absolutely nowhere

Notto

That series is shit tbh, she needs to start up the actual shows that came out alongside Loki. Falcon and the winter soldier and Moonknight

Notto

See you in 4 months

Notto

Captain marvel and the marvels is worse

Notto

Pfp checks out

Notto

I’m not sure there’s a way to do that while being genuine 😂 but I’m not sure if she even knows what happened to Chadwick yet.

YukoValis

Some of the comedy is hit and miss sure, but honestly I feel that is the worst of it. The action is good, the villain is interesting, and the story isn't half bad.

Pell D. indestructible

Both of those I don't even categorize as bad, just forgettable and mid, L&T is at the bottom with Ant man 3, it's a full blown parody comedy where every joke bombed for me and that's what made it a painful sit through

Notto

Thunderbolts and Cap4 ain’t that far away can someone let Alicia know she needs to watch Falcon and the winter soldier

Giddo

I'd give this one a 5 personally, just straight up average. And I definitely agree that people are waaaay too harsh on these movies. It reminds me of the hate people have towards The Legend of Korra, how it's a good show by itself, but people just keep comparing it to the masterpiece that is Avatar the Last Airbender.

Koirby

So, being now in the era of Marvel Films I Haven't Seen™️, I'd call this Cute/10. Like. It wasn't the best, but it had enough in there that I was entertained and I wouldn't say I regret seeing it. The kid army was cute, the ending was cute, Christian Bale was absolutely incredible like goddamn that Call The Axe intimidation scene was so creepy I loved it. Yeah. Cute/10. Wouldn't actively see it again but I sure can now point at it and say yeah I enjoyed it enough lmao

EnderSlayer366

Honestly the worst part about the movie is the wasted potential. Feels like the Russos set up a lay-up for this one by putting Star-Lord, the guy whose dad was a god (celestial) who gave-up god-like power and fought his father because it was what's right, in the movie that has Gorr The God Butcher whose whole motivation and arc is that all gods are evil and self-absorbed and learns through Thor (and could've also been Star-Lord) that's not the case. Not to mention we don't actually see Gorr butcher any gods lmao Plus whatever is going on with the god lore, like I thought the norse gods weren't actually canonically gods and were called that because they were so advanced and powerful and thus were perceived that way by the people of Earth. But now that's retconned? Question mark? goofy movie, Ragnarok was Taika Waititi's style at its best, this is his style at its worst, which is funny because in classic Marvel fashion it's not even that bad, just underwhelming

EnderSlayer366

it's weird how Korg was so fun in ragnarok but his existence in this movie past like the first few appearances actively worsens the experience, why's he contradicting himself, why's he have a fakeout death, why's he got so many bits that aren't funny this time, why is he able to survive as just a face

Goobert

Someones nerve got struck lmao, chill tf out homie its not that deep. For one, i never said the og games storytelling wasn't good, i said it wasn't a masterpiece, nor did i say they should be skipped, i said the later games would fit her more. By which i hoped you'd infer that the older style of storytelling doesn't fit Alicias style of story analysis and commentary, i guess that was too much to ask for without context. Theres not much you can say and comment on when in every 2 hours of gameplay which is all just mindless hack n slash you get one good cutscene of story, 2018 and Ragnarok interweave the story into its gameplay, constantly, thats what makes it so good and its what would let Alicia talk about the story while playing. There is objectively more to talk about in the later games, story wise, and this isn't to disparage the older games, its just to say which ones fit her style more. Idk what demons you're fighting and idc really, seem like every other og fanboy you got issues with the newer games but i won't assume, but you totally missed the mark with this reply.

Cameron Meow

It really dosnt deserve the hate it's not a bad movie i think some people are just super pumped to hate these days but I can see how the serious story didn't mesh well with the comedy it's like they were trying to make 2 movies 1 for adults and 1 for kids and it just didn't blend well saying that Gorr is one of the best "bad guys" in film i kinda wish his intention was to bring his daughter back the whole time despite the blade corruption but still he is amazing

N00B

The newer games don't "interweave" the story into gameplay, they just force you into cutscenes or force you into walking segments where you just listen to the story in dialogue form. The older games weren't just mindless hack and slash, but the combat served to place the player into Kratos' mindset while also SHOWING us the world and its occurences in both the monsters the Gods have allowed to roam free and the chaos they enact on the mortal world. You get to see and perform the violent acts that feed Kratos' guilt, rather than being told, which is even more effective than just showing. Its a medium where "show don't tell" is replaced with "don't show, do" to tremendous effect in gameplay, yet its the story that takes the easy-way-out in how it tells its story that's getting praised now. They are absolutely masterpieces when you realize that what GoW 2018 and Ragnarok needed minutes of exposition to establish, the original games established in seconds by letting you see and play the game. My nerves are struck because GoW IS a masterpiece that people no longer appreciate because videogame storytelling as a whole has strayed away from taking advantage of the medium's unique capabilities and instead just force feed you the story as if it were a show or movie. Additionally, you did imply that she can skip the originals by stating "The storyline of the newer ones would fit her far more, i believe".

QuibblesAndGitz

Its not unfair to compare against those when it's a direct sequel though.. Its not like these are unrelated IPs

QuibblesAndGitz

A Pitch Meeting quote sums up a major reason i didn't like this movie.. -It's going to be crazy seeing him going around, butchering Gods! -Oh yeah! Except no, that is going to be happening off screen.. -But.. He's the God Butcher!?..

Vegvisir92

i think almost everything after Endgame is basically "Meh" to me

StorytellerDave

It's an okay movie, but it could have been one of the best if it took itself a bit more seriously. Just cut all of Korg out and trim down the start with the Guardians, focus a little bit less on the comedy and you have an amazing movie.

EnderSlayer366

I agree with pretty much all your thoughts about this movie. It's just... okay. I would take any other Thor movie over it, including Dark World, that one had a boring villain but it was still internally consistent and didn't break the lore (and had Loki in it lol). That aside, knowing everything that happened behind the scenes including but not limited to the director's general disinterest in his own movie, as well as several re-writes, it makes me disappointed because of what we ALMOST got. And I think that disappointment is why most people say this movie's booty cheeks (on top of post-Endgame just constantly being dunked on for no reason) when it's honestly just fine, nothing more nothing less.

EnderSlayer366

Yeah tbh that's kinda a cracked idea, everyone in the movie thinking he's gonna use Eternity to kill all gods but he ends up revealing that the whole time he just wants to use it to bring his daughter back. You might've cooked. But yeah it tracks that it feels like 2 different movies lol much of the pandemic-era Marvel stuff had that feel because of how hard all the rewrites went.

Lee Aguera

Meaning no disrespect to our gal, 4 months is pretty ambitious to get to Thunderbolts. She hasn't even done Falcon and the Winter Soldier. We're looking at like Christmas day Thunderbolts, or new years thunderbolts.

DrOverbuild8363

Yeah, he's definitely not as funny in this one.

Okarun

react to 50 shades of black!

The Lazy Gamer

She's got a list that was given to her to watch things in a specific order, she's not just choosing what to watch next.

The Lazy Gamer

To me the funniest jokes were the jealous Stormbreaker ones, those definitely did not miss.

The Lazy Gamer

Personally hope Thor's writing is less jokey for Chris's sake. He said he didn't particularly enjoy playing him in this movie.

Notto

Uh nah we good

LuxCrank

I wish they would play his stories a little more seriously sometimes too, but that's just not gonna happen. This movie definitely has some tone whip lash problems.

Ainārs (Hoodz)

Alicia, you are fucking awesome. You so quickly became one of my favorite Vtubers and reaction content creators because of your awesome personality. And you just being so open about just talking about a topic, no matter how sensitive or dark, it's just... Keep being awesome. It's always crazy how a ok, mid movie like this could bring out such deep and sensitive topics from you, and that's what I love about everything you post. It's a bit cringe, but people like you are inspiration to me, so yeah. Just wanted to throw that out there, since the cancer reveal scene got your talking about a bit of what you went through while fighting you battle...

Matthew Newton

It's weird. They could have had more comedy and less serious stuff, or less comedy and more serious stuff and it would've worked better for me. As it stands it's in this awkward middle ground for me

Faroth

And as a reminder, everytime someone says "this X is shit" turns out more than half the times that she actually like it, so...

Humbertowtf

Brother this was rough. I am glad I watched it with you because I would have turned it off if it was by itself

Humbertowtf

Brother there is a King of the Hill episode where Hanks gets assaulted by one. So the occurrences are just THAT prevalent to permeate pop culture like that

MMDXXX

I'd say Captain Marvel was on par with Iron Man 3, which was mediocre at worst. The Marvels on the other hand was WAY worse!

Sam Marsh

I wonder if Alicia has played God of War (2018) and God of War:Ragnarok. If not, I would love to see her react to those games, like on her other channel, Aliciaxdeath.

Bologna Amputation

The movie frame in the thumbnail is hilarious, because it looks like such a shitpost. Thor looking like he's doing a Cornholio cosplay with the line "Zeus, we must do something" has the same energy as "Harry, use the Force - Gandalf."

Spicy Noodles

honestly i liked the movie till the end, i think the end kinda sold. but other than that if you ignore the comics its based off of. its a solid movie.

Twisted Fictions

My mother had the same cancer as you (it sounds like, I'm neither asking for or providing UBER specifics lmao), and tried fighting at first and while she did she LOVED snacks lmao. AS LONG as it was A, not chocolate and B, salty as fuck. I don't understand why, and frankly the doctors didn't either. Just a funny tidbit since you mentioned it.

Twisted Fictions

Honestly, for as much as people rag on it, this is easily top ten Marvel movies for me. It's funny and enjoyable, but it knows when to drop the comedy and be serious and take things seriously. It treats Jane's cancer with respect, and works to give her full agency in all her choices and decisions, and even works to let Might Thor move and act in her own way nique from Thor so she's not just copying. I genuinely adore it

Demonsabath67

Have you seen the Shazam movies yet?

Kevin Bartelen

For me, there's a lot of really good stuff in this movie, but for some reason they didn't trust the audience so every time things start to get serious they feel the need to distract us with a bad joke. Yes, it Thor and therefor a comedy, but a good comedy will let things be serious when it's called for if it's meant to be more than JUST comedy. But there's enough good that I still like it, just not as much as I could have.

Okarun

well u lose

PandaBH

In the comics Thor isn’t really a jokester so I hate that he associated with comedy. The previous thor movies weren’t super jokey so that’s why I feel this one is the worst Thor out of all of them. I also remember seeing when this movie was coming people were talking about gorr from the comics and he was able to beat 3 thors at once. Just how marvel adapted Thor and Gorr in this movie is saddening.

Fenronin (Dorian Dubourg)

That kind of stuff happens a ́ot with intelligent species look at humans , monkeys some species of birds they tend to sometime show cruelty but dolphins are known to save people at sea

Denaze

This thumbnail thor looks like he is acting as a woman for a youtube skit (not actually i just mean those popular channels where they wear a piece of clothing to indicate a womans hair, don't cancel me) And misread the title as "Thor, Love and Tumblr"

Joey245

Loved this one when it came out! Alicia's reactions did not disappoint! Her freaking out over the babies was hilarious haha

YeCrustModifier

Thunder oh oh oh thunder Jane is “movie ill”, which means dark makeup around the eyes 🤣

YeCrustModifier

Thunder oh oh oh Thunder Apropos of nothing. Probably not the place, but I just want say this everywhere because I’m so proud of her. A few days ago my 77-year-old Mum, who kicked the F out of two types of cancer, celebrated her 25th wedding anniversary (to her 4th husband!) by learning archery 🤣

Mugiwara

I’m PRAYING we get Logan soon🙏

Brassemannen

Real talk here. I'm from Sweden and we grew up with like "Norse mythology" in religion classes and stuff. The concept of Valhalla was always interesting to me and it wasn't until a friend of mine that is actually a Norse believer got cancer I started to put things like diseases into that kind of perspective. He luckily won against cancer but he was kind of smiling when he talked about it with his kids that had this value of "to not back down from a fight is winning either way." I love him, I love that you opened up to us Alicia and I want to thank your family for helping you out and letting me be able to see such a wonderful person uncut on Patreon to laugh and smile with! <3 Much love from Sweden.

Flastyy

Why would you want to subject her to such mediocrity? Lmao Not to mention how awful Zachary Levy (the one who plays Adult Shazam) is irl.

Demonsabath67

I loved it as a kid so why cant I just suggest something I loved😒

Memento Forever

Alicia beat cancer at the perfect time, before all the movies that mention cancer!

Kino

She already watched this movie and it is widely considered the most mid Marvel movie and was at the peak of Marvel fatigue. Besides, the first Shazam was really good.

Demonsabath67

I thought this was s different conversation about another movie I've suggested that was zathura not the Shazam movies

scatman's world

Wasn't the BEST marvel movie in recent memory but I quite enjoyed it!

Hugh Mungus

Go the fuck off, Rat Queen. You deserve everything and more. We all love you.

Vincent Price

your prays have been answered my friend

DrA

I heard that the original script had Valkyrie and Jane were going to be dating.

UndeadNovaKing 0

1:30:57 he should have played joker instead of Batman with this scene alone 🤣😂🤣😂 1:36:05 yo, the goats are goated. She is literally in Valhalla, waiting for Thor to show up. I really wish we could get a movie where it shows his life come to an end and he meets with jane again in Valhalla. It would be great for an ending with Thor and Jane

Thanos

1:11:37 why did she not make the reference to god of war with Mimir and Kratos

PokéBoyBB

I agree that a lot of people apply human logic to animals, and we shouldn’t do that. But like- Even by animal standards Dolphin’s are mean and shitty. They’re smart enough to CHOOSE to do shitty things. The things male dolphins do to things that aren’t male dolphins can make a grown man shudder.

Azzazz1n97

Not Roy Kent Being Hercules 🤣🤣🤣

Talenozam

That's just stupid. Either your just having a laugh or you read some stupid opinion piece on the internet. Jane very clearly only has eyes for Thor and Valkyrie is still too hurt from the past to look for someone else.

Talenozam

If you think the Thor movies haven't been jokey you clearly didn't watch Ragnarok properly. Even the first two movies had a decent amount of jokes.

DrA

actually it looks like it was a theory from fans. Also deleted scenes imply Valkyrie is bisexual including stuff in the final cut.

Wil DeYoung

Yeah, the last like maybe half hour of the movie was really good and probably would have hit better if the tone had been more serious in the beginning. It was a complaint so many had upon seeing this and I think even Taika Watiti acknowledged that he went too far with the comedy. Some comedy would have been great, like the goats bit was fantastic, but a lot of the other stuff just felt like too much. Especially with the guardians.

Shroomy

If you actually care Heracles is the Greek and Hercules is Roman it's not a pronunciation thing it's just the actual origin. In regards to the film it's fine I guess but in the scene where the asgardians just got attacked I think it's odd that they just kind of decided to make thor goofy and not able to comfort people with his speech. He kind of felt like drax a few times in this movie not really getting social cues and being too honest.

Karatsuki

Batman really carrying Marvel after Iron man died

W3REWOLF3

Thoroughly enjoyed watching this movie with you reacting. I thank you truly for sharing during it and i respect you and your partner infinitely more. Also wanted to say that I found you on youtube within the past couple of weeks and it is the person you are after all the crap you have made it through that brought me and kept me watching your content. I pray you and yours all the best and thank you for sharing again.

Vivica the witch

I was a big defender of this when It came out, but rewatching it, yeah the humor wares thin fast.

James Fernandez

1:05:20 even the guards couldn’t handle it and is the guy on the right covering his junk

Otterplasty

I wasn't gonna comment on it until she called it out, but I was literally thinking "The Greek pronunciation is Heracles," so now I must comment out of spite. >:c But really why did the common name become Hercules? Is it just because Disney fucked it up or something, or does it go back further?

Hellguin

I always love your thoughts on the weaker of the movies, It isn't strong, but so many people shit on it so damn hard.

Jastew .

You made me curious so I looked it up, Hercules is the roman version of the name that became more popular

KingMarkoIII

No. The first 2 movies were not . They had a regular amount of jokes for a marvel movie or any blockbuster lol. Ragnarok is different and more of a comedy because the DIRECTOR. the same director as this one.

wiski

It makes me sad that they basically made the God Butcher a side character in this movie, as the actual comic arc with him in it was AMAZING. Also sad that apparently Thor has been eating pain chips while in space and has lost all intellect.

Anzac-A1

I know. Yes, the movies after Endgame definitely feel weaker, but they're still fun.

Jyxxe

So fun fact, Love is played by Chris Hemsworth's real daughter - those are just real father-daughter interactions at the end there.
