I think the joke is Nami can manifest haki just to beat up Luffy. Since he can't be injured by normal physical attacks it requires haki. That's why Garp could beat him up despite not having a devil fruit.

I've been listening to this one show while I'm working (mom piece "momma drawk's one piece read through") and one thing she said that makes some sense to me is that buggy Luffy and Blackbeard all are connected in how they get crew, buggy's crew is absurdly loyal, while Blackbeards crew is full of extremely ambitious/skilled people. Luffy has both loyal and ambitious people in his crew. Buggy and Blackbeard represent parts of what makes Luffys crew great. However in these episodes you can see where blind loyalty without skill to back it up comes to. Oh and she also predicted sun god Luffy at Jaya.

It's a little annoying to have Sanji downplayed by calling Zoro more important (in regards to Bounties) as 'Luffy's right hand man' because they're *both* his Wings (in fact Sanji is more confirmed than Zoro - no character has outright said it yet for him, while Robin said it for Sanji) and wings don't work if they're not equal. Zoro may be his right, but that makes Sanji his left. I blame that pesky mistranslation of Marco back in Wano. Stars, not Star! Otherwise, yaaaaay, Egghead time! In several months this rubber dude has defeated 2 warlords in Crocodile and Moria, declared war on the world government, punched a celestial dragon, broke into and out of the most secure prison in the world freeing hundreds of prisoners, was one of the central figures in a major war, is the brother of Ace(son of Gol D Roger), brother to a high ranking revolutionary army member, son of the most heinous criminal in the world, defeated one of your top assassin/spy networks in cypher pol. He then shows back up with the right hand man of Roger, Rayleigh. And then randomly disappears for 2 years. Comes back, makes an alliance with Trafalger Law, a warlord, defeats Doflomingo, another warlord, makes an Admiral bow publicly on tv, invades a Yonko territory with Big Mom, then goes to Wano and frees the land/defeats a Yonko

Let's be real, i don't think Sanji is really downplayed when it comes to roles in the crew. Is Sanji an equal to Zoro strength and powerlevel wise ? Sure, no problem there. But while Zoro has never been officially namedropped as the Vice Captain (especially with Nami kinda playing that role at times, especially early) or even calling himself that, in enough scenes he was playing that role uncontested, and aura farming it. Even somehow butting heads with others, when it came to Usopp leaving and joining again. Sanji never had those rallying and leadership moments

Respectfully disagree, Zoro isn't vice captain (or First Mate), Oda's never listed him as such and in fact, none of the current new pirate groups (ie Kid, Heart, Fire Tank, etc) have vice captains or first mates. ^_^ But to each their own. Agree to disagree. Their is no vice captain or first mate in the Strawhats (or other young pirate groups like Hearts, Kid, Fire Tank, etc) and Oda would say if there was (for spoiler reasons, so I can't give my reasoning rn sorry!). I also wouldn't exactly call that moment in W7 a rally or leadership moment but more them settling into real Pirate group rules as opposed to 'friends just traveling together' and notably, Sanji was the only one to agree with Zoro on Usopp (they had a similar moment earlier in W7 after they destroyed the Franky House, where Zoro and Sanji together spoke about what their next move should be). All the Strawhats take minor lead when necessary, such as Nami in PH to save the kids, Jinbei on FMI, Franky on Dressrosa, Sanji in Alabasta (as Mr. Prince), and other moments I can't say for spoilers. The Strawhats simply don't have that old fashion pirate group power structure - Luffy listens to everyone equally.

So here's some bounty fun facts for the Strawhats: Each Strawhat (except chopper) had a minimum bounty increase of 300,000,000 which is 10% of Luffy's. It is unclear whether or not this is something baked into the marine bounty system. This isn't the first time where Sanjii placed 4th in the bounty running among the strawhats, when everyone on the crew had a bounty for the first time, the top 3 were Luffy at 300,000,000, Zoro at 120,000,000, and Robin at 80,000,000. Speaking of Robin, among female pirates as of this moment in the story, her's is only beat by Smoothie (who might be dead given the capsizing of big mom's ship) and Big Mom.

I think their logic might either be that Buggy and Luffy were collaborating since before he got arrested or that they believe Buggy was the one who actually rallied and led the escapees (including the Newkamas) after Luffy’s initial defeat by Magellan. Either way the fact that almost all of the escaped prisoners ended up working for Buggy definitely makes it look like he was the one behind it.

@trippersigs22 There's absolutely no reason for her to be the second highest. Her knowing how to read the poneglyphs only got her 80 million. Why would that suddenly change? It wouldn't. Compared to the other high bounties she's incredibly weak. The only reason her bounty is so high is her ability to read the poneglyphs which WCI taught us isn't that unique.

this is oda playing with numbers both big mom and kaido's bounty together is rounded up to about 9B(8.99B), they were taken down by kid,law, and luffy = 3k each to be relatively in the same ball park of the 2 yonko's who got defeated.

A thought occurred to me as I was thinking about how Luffy 100% allows Nami to beat the shit out of him - Nami is the singular non-combatant on the crew. She will participate in a fight, but literally only as a last resort - if possible, she will always allow another crew member to fight in her place, and it has gotten to the point now where her weapon literally fights for her, so she doesn't have to fight at all. But Nami is also the only one that Luffy allows to beat him, because he's aware that if she's hitting him, he probably deserves it. Funny how the non-fighter with the lowest bounty on the crew (outside Chopper's meme bounty) is the only one stronger than the captain, one of the Four Emperors of the Sea.

You are wrong Alicia. Buggy IS plagued by misfortune. We saw it when they escaped Impel Down and the Navy exposed his background. He wanted to lay low. Let's go back to East Blue when we first met him. He CHOSE to make the weakest Sea his base of operations. With his rep, he could have made a name in the New World after Roger's execution. The last thing Buggy would have ever wanted, was to be a Yonko, it just got thrusted onto him because his subordinates made him stand out on the Cross Guild poster and the Govt was like "So, looks like Buggy is the leader then". That is pure misfortune for a dude that literally wanted to be the third string to the Mihawk-Crocodile Alliance. He didn't become a Yonko on purpose, he became one on accident. Now yeah, when the prisoners were glazing him, he did play into it, but even then, it still bites him in the ass till this day. His devil fruit, he ate on pure accident. The dude has the worst luck and the greatest misfortune in storytelling, which is that he is doomed to fail upwards, so no matter how much he fails, somehow, some way, he still benefits. Case in point, becoming an Emperor.
