Yeah this script was super undercooked. The Chapek era of Disney was a dark time. There is a reason he was fired. Luckily Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is great so you have that to look forward to.

This was the movie I was dreading. This to me is the lowest point in MCU and the worst movie they made. Eternals is a close second, but even that had a few things redeemable. Athena and that guy coming in with the steel chair (it was a rock but whatever). This one was just so bad. I enjoyed Black widow a lot more than this one. I won't say which is which, but thankfully the next 2 out of 3 movies are real bangers.

And before anybody says "It's an MCU movie, so she has to watch the others that came out before it first", FYI Alicia watched X-Men Dark Phoenix before Logan, even though it came out after Logan. So she hasn't always consistently abided by that made-up rule, and how would this be any different? Also Deadpool & Wolverine may technically be an MCU movie, but at its core it's still a direct continuation (and conclusion) of the Fox X-Men series. NTM the only MCU entry that Alicia really needed to see before D&W was the Loki series, which she already finished watching. The other MCU entries aren't important and they have no connection to Deadpool & Wolverine whatsoever, so Alicia can just jump into D&W any time she wants at this point.

This was the movie that even main stream audiences started to catch on that the MCU is on life support. At this time I had stopped going to the theater. If reviews were alright, I'd smoke a j and watch them when they hit streaming. Other than that i gave up on the mcu. Fuck Disney man...there's a couple alright films left, and I'd love to see you tear a few of the shows apart. Specifically I'd love to see you react to Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and how certain characters are written.

Yeah I've heatd this movie is terrible with only like 2 scenes out of the whole thing ever being talked about. This movie was actually meant to up Kang the conqueror(the guy they mentioned. Wh was the main antagonist of the film) as the next MCU big bad like thanos. But it flopped so unbelievably hard they scrapped him entirely and move on to Work on avengers Doomsday. And secret wars instead. With a different villain moving forward.

Ehhh its worse than that. They did not care about scripting at all. None of marvels writers at this point have a very long work history at all. The script wasn't even finished until they were mostly done filming. Same thing happened with the second Dr Strange film. They were just shooting scenes on green screens and making a story later. Disney had learned that writing had stopped mattering because people were throwing money at them and taking whatever quality they were given. This was the first one were they REALLY got hurt by that.

Remember when I said it's all downhill after Endgame, and from that point the MCU just keeps getting gradually worse and worse as it progresses? (With the occasional decent film here and there.) This movie is a prime example of just how bad the MCU has gotten in recent years, and yet it's still not the worst turd shat out of MCU's ass! Believe it or not, it still gets even worse from here...

This one was really where I could admit the low point of the MCU. There are good ones after this but this is where the MCU dipped for me too. Guardians 3 and Deadpool 3 are amazing, Thunderbolts is damn solid. I know this may be a bit of an unpopular opinion but while Fantastic 4 was good, mostly. Not a fan of the final showdown, felt weird to me. I’ll mention no spoilers though.

I can't blame her at all, but at the same time I'm still shocked, I've never seen Alicia actually quit/give up on an MCU movie before, not even on the absolute worst MCU films she's watched previously, even Eternals (AKA E-turd-nals) she at least had the guts to watch all the way through, even if it was suffering. If I ever were to watch this movie again, I would skip to the final battle. It's the only good part of the movie, and even then it's not that good. Something I want to add related to what you were saying at the end; shows/movies with female leads CAN be amazing. Hollywood just needs to stop trying so hard to shove agendas/ideologies down people's throats and just use the tried and true method of "show don't tell" that you talk about in a lot of your reactions. Instead of female characters talking and (let's be honest) whining about the unfairness that may or may not have been shown in a movie, show them actually doing something about it in a smart and well thought out way. If Alicia ever watches She Hulk, I'm gonna be honest, I'm only gonna watch the ones with a certain character in them. Not because that character is the best part of the show (which they are, but that's beside the point), but because they treated She Hulk sooo bad in terms of her capabilities, both mental and physical. The show sucked, period.

Your rant at the end was on point. Sadly, there's been some unhealthy overcorrections of representation in entertainment. And when it shows up, it ruins the characters and story. Even the one's it's trying to help. It's propping up certain groups of characters by having other certain groups "lesser" in every manner. It's NEVER okay.

I, and literally every other Marvel fan I've spoken too, were also seriously disappointed by this movie and it marked a serious downward spiral for the MCU as a whole for years. If you made it to the post-credit scene, you'd have seen that this movie was supposed to set up Kang (He Who Remains' variants) as the primary villain for the next phase of the MCU. But the Jonathan Major scandals, combined with the fact that the handling of this movie was so bad on every level, meant Marvel has had to flounder ever since to change course, meaning the movies since this have all felt disjointed and unfocused. They even went so far as to bring back RDJ (for probably an obscene amount of money) for the next Avengers movie as Dr. Doom just to cash in on nostalgia for a better time in MCU history.

I'd like to add-on to this: There is no such thing as a 'healthy' correction. Any attempt at a 'correction' of a percieved flaw in representation in entertainment has, always, every single time, failed. Its why, for example, Wandavision worked and She-Hulk didn't. If you wish to get different types of rep in entertainment you cannot attempt to shove it over other, better, more popular series/franchises. You need to make a new story, and you need to make it interesting, and then weave any type of rep into it naturally. If you make something for the sake of rep alone, it will flop. Its why most so heavily disliked the 'women power' moment in Endgame

Funny enough, I also checked out around the Bill Murray scene when I first saw this in theaters. It was just so goddamn boring. I did watch the rest of the movie though and there are some cool bits I'm glad I saw but it's vastly overshadowed by all the boring and shit parts and the multitude of character assassinations. Oh also Cassie's recast is lame AF. She was good in Freaky (2020) but here she's just unbearably unlikable. I really wanna peer into an alternate universe where this movie was actually good AND Jonathan Major didn't tank his career, despite his crimes he made an awesome Kang and I wish I could see the villain they wanted to build him into. I do hope you come back to it with friends to fully roast the shit out of it.

Aww, I was really hoping she'd drop it after the MODAK scene. I really needed to see her react to the cringe. But she's right. Marvel was so focused on trying to introduce Kang that they completely destroyed what people loved in an Ant-Man film. No one likes watching a movie where the main character is the side-kick. Lang is goofy and klutzy but he's not dumb, so why make him appear moranic?

This is the first Marvel movie since Endgame that I legit just disliked outright. Most of the others I think are fun, even if they're not perfect and are not masterpieces, they have good scenes and moments and characters and just in general good stuff, but this one...I dunno, there's some decent scenes, but there's also a lot of scenes that are just so bad they kinda ruin the characters a bit. I actually really liked Ant-Man too, both of the first movies were cool in my opinion and had really funny moments. This one seems like it got screwed over completely.

Is it bad that I actually liked the way they explained MODOK looking like that? I mean he looks like that in the comics too, but maybe even worse, and the movie kinda at least gives a reason for why his head is huge but his body is tiny. The character itself is crap and the way he is 'redeemed' by being told to stop being a dick is just horrible writing, but I don't hate the looks being a result of a malfunctioning shrinking device.

I'm genuinely surprised Alicia hated this film so much that you couldn't get through the first 3rd of the film. I thought Thor Love and Thunder was worse than this film. I don't blame her though. This was the first of several bombs after Endgame. It has a lot of issues with the script, the pacing, Cassie and Hope's mom feeling like Marcy Sue's. She didn't even make it to MODOK's reveal......which I was kinda excited to see her reaction to, but is also one of the worst parts of the film. In the end I guess it doesn't really matter anyway since this film was suppose to introduce Kang the Conqueror, one of the variants of He Who Remains, as well as the Kang Dynasty. Since their no longer going down the Kang Dynasty story route in the upcoming films for reasons, this film kinda ended up being pointless in the grand scheme of Marvel films. I am glad that Alicia felt the same way about how they were pushing woman empowerment too much in the this film and the previous Ant-Man film. Makes me feel like how I felt about this film was acknowledged.....I guess. Especially since by this films release Marvel started attacking anyone who said anything bad about their films, even if what they said was valid criticism.

I think one of the major things this movie got wrong is establishment. They show new people and fancy looking cities but we don't know anything about them. There is no buildup, no backstory. At least movies like Thor Ragnarok gave their new city some set up. Why should we care about any of this here? Then they started throwing tragic "so and so" in our face for people we just met. Make us care about a character first before you give us their problems.

I think one of the reasons people loved the first movie was Scott Lang was written like an underdog, but as the movies with him progressed he became more of the butt of the joke to the point where now he's a side character in his own movie! All the charm of that first Ant-Man movie is just gone, replaced by boring visual spectacle and uninteresting plots that we now know lead to absolutely nothing. These characters deserved a better movie than this, especially Scott.

This is the era of MCU where the shows are better written, better acted, and better shot. Unfortunately, people only see the shows as "homework" for the movies. So many people miss out on greatness like Moon Knight, Agatha All Along, and What If because they "don't matter to the movies" when the movies were trash. Honestly I wouldn't be able to say because I don't read the comic books. I wouldn't be surprised if a good portion of their more recent issues within the last 10 years or so Janet and Cassie felt like mary sues, but otherwise I have no idea. Actually, are Cassie and Janet in the comic books? Most of my knowledge of what is and isn't from the comic books is from the Marvel Earth's Mightiest Hero's cartoon from about 2010, and I haven't seen that in awhile. I figured given its style and story telling that that show was pretty comic accurate. Was the Wasp in that show Janet or Hope? I can't remember.

I agree that the idea was actually pretty workable. Actually, he should have been the main villain instead of wasting Kang. Him having a personal revenge plot would have been way better than someone who should really have a greater scope than Ant Man like Kang. Kang can be in the background as a guy vaguely supporting Cross so he can harvest the microverse. Having it be a small colony of one of Kang's empires would have fit the character way better.

She's so fun, has a lot of fun interactions with the other hero's, mostly among the Avengers, she was an important member of the team without being overpowered, perfect at everything, or narcissistic, and her romance with the first Ant-Man in that show was cute......too bad it didn't really last.

I actually have 0 issue with Scott not being so much the focus(he eventually is but that's beside the point). I didn't feel like the female representation was excessive since "wasp" was in the title. Honestly I didn't dislike the movie but I didn't loved it either. I do think is at the very least more interesting than eternals regarding what happens in the film. Eternals is more interesting lore wise. Yelena is really the only thing that save Black Widow to me.

It felt like there was just.. no point to it? Like yes, Sam is a great cap, but the plot just felt so undercooked. I enjoyed Thunderbotls* far more, as it has SUCH good artistry, direction, and actual emotional content. It made me care about the characters and it made me CARE in general, which is something which the rest of the phase 5 flops didn't do. Thunderbolts didn't just have emotional character, it had CREATIVE character. I feel the same about the new Fantastic Four movie. In contrast to those, BNW just felt a little underwhelming.

My big issue was that I had hoped the ant man series was gonna be the "back in time" stories with Hank and Janet, maybe intersecting with older Carter and Howard stark etc. Focusing on Scott in modern marvel gives a lot of space for funny but not much for plot focused on him. Anything serious feels disjointed and disconnected from the characters involvement. They have to make it into separated stories so they can mash 2 generations of comic into one movie. The big reveal was supposed to be the return of kang from loki, but due to his actions and recasting, they also had to abandon any plot involving him. That's why we don't see him during loki s2 at all.

A lot of people hate this movie for very good reasons, bad story, terrible cgi, poor characterization. Me I hate this movie for it's world building in addition to all that, this world should be unrecognizable, with Stark Tech, Wakanda, and Pym tech all expressly taking actions to improve society and some how you still have issues with homelessness, mfer how. All three also use vastly different forms of technology, not to mention people like the vulture being able to reverse engineer alien tech.

The only reason i watch this fully was because at this point Kang the Conqueror. Hoped they expanded on all the possibilities of his arc in Marvel. Then stuff happened. I really recommend x-men 97 cartoon series Scott redemption arc.

This movie isn't really needed to understand future MCU movies, as it has lost its relevance. Now, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is a must; it is one of the better Phase 4 films. You really should watch the Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas Special first, as it has some key things that will come into play in Vol. 3, but it's not super essential. Whatever you decide to watch next, looking forward to it!

It IS a downward spiral if you count the complete oversaturation of extra Marvel content and serious dip in the TV quality outside of Loki(which is fair). However, the non-movies are totally irrelevant and skippable in Phase 5 outside of Loki S2, which is luckily very good. If you look at just the Phase 5 movies that started with this turd, it looks less like a downward trend and more like one of those carnival rides that carries you up and then drops you repeatedly. Quantumania - Ass, enough said GotG 3 -Awesome, enough said The Marvels-I'm one of the few guys who actually paid to see the lowest grossing Marvel movie in theaters, and imo? A little better than mid, had its moments. Not good enough for me to argue that it shouldn't have bombed though. My least favorite Marvel villain and that is saying SOMETHING. How did they not know how people would feel about this kind of Marvel villain in 2024? Should have just adapted a Kelly Thompson comic or something. Deadpool & Wolverine - wait this counts? That honestly feels like Phase 5 is cheating. Massive buff to the overall quality if counted Brave New World - actual mid Thunderbolts* - Pulled it together nicely And now we're in this Phase 6 with only 4 movies on the docket and the first one is solid.

And since you and adora are into rivals especially adora with lore reading. She may know there is a character that is heavily rumored to be in the game at some point in future. Also the sorta sequel to this movie was canceled but is in the works to be brought back so the context despite it not being good might help in future films. Im sure you are reading this and shaking your head no thinking its so not worth it and I wouldn't fault you for it. But I wanted to say what I think what minimum you can get out of it at least and to make it as soothing as possible. Hope this dosent ruins what remains of your .marvel experiences. I mean Hope got a bunch of accolades for applying Pym tech around the world... and sure we got one instance of Hope poking her mom about the quantum realm but it's implying MANY more of those conversations have happened. so even being generous and saying, it's been 6 months since the blip, all of the ones who disappeared got everything squared away : Social security numbers, deeds to houses etc. taking 3-4 months. there has been a lot of dinners or occasions for Cassie to talk about her project... before it "got finished" and actually sent energy down there.... feels like Janet was avoiding Trauma and compartmentalising at the expense of the tech being used in a way that would be detrimental...

Kinda crazy going straight from suffering with Ant through Joker 2 to this. I respect the hustle, and the fact that you're willing to come back to it with emotional support. If it's any consolation, this movie did so badly that it sort of single-handedly ruined Marvel's reputation and made most people give up on keeping up with the series. In fact, unfortunately, even now when they release movies that are actually really good, they're still underperforming. So you are not alone in thinking this one is... not great. And also on the bright side if you do return to this there is actually way more of a Scott focus throughout the second half, so maybe your code word isn't so out of place. I personally saw this movie as a massive mixed bag of mostly missed potential. There were some ideas that were really cool, and a lot of execution that wasn't. Hell, in earlier versions of the movie's script (where there's more focus on Scott versus the main antagonist "The Conqueror") the heroes actually lose and either die or get trapped in the Quantum Realm in place of the villain. That being said, the villain was probably the strongest part of the movie, which is why I can easily say that everything good I can say about this movie hasn't even come up yet in this reaction. Not much more can really be said without complete spoilers because there's SO MUCH *nothing* for most of the first half.

Yeah, Alicia hit the nail on the head with this one. I typically judge a film by how much I remember/think of it after the fact. So many movies I can recall the plot beat by beat or remember cool moments from or stuff like that. This one? I remember that one moment with Scott near the end where they popped off with the CG (as well as one particular horrible use of CGI for a certain character) but that's basically it, every thing else is a blank. I went to see this in theaters and I remember coming out bored and frustrated, and my feelings haven't changed much since!

I hate the entire miscommunication movie trope, I just find it extremely frustrating and boring character development, oh wow they finally communicate yaaay. What they are arguing about also doesn't make sense to where she's like "I told you not to go back to the quantum realm" but did you really?? you were literally helping them to go to the quantum realm at the end of the Wasp where Scott got stuck. Even when they "redeem" themselves by finally talking to each other by the end of the movie I don't really care anymore by that point.

It’s soft canon. It introduces Peacemaker and some of his crew, and his involvement with Flag Jr is later canon in creature commandos and Superman.. but a lot of Peacemaker S1 and Suicide Squad isn’t canon. Justice league doesn’t exist, and neither does most of the characters from Task force X. That’s pretty much how he’s explained it on his podcast. The movie and the show are well worth a watch tho. They’re miles better than most of the stuff MCU has put out recently.

The issue with this movie in particular is that Peyton Reed is not a good director. The first benefitted greatly because Edgar Wright had written the script and done pre-production work with it, allowing him to set the genre and tone. The second one, while not as good as the first, still benefitted from the tone of the first film which Peyton was still using. THIS one decided to abandon the unserious tone, and low stakes of the first two to make the most generic, CGI bloated adventure film that had no identity of its own. Peyton Reed was little more than a yes man for Disney execs, who just wanted this film made as a checklist of sorts, wasting the characters and actors attached.

Honestly I love this movie for 2 reasons, 1. The Hank Pym scene at the end was BADASS and super fycking cool, his aura and his control over his army of ants while standing against Kang was genuinely cool and probably the most badass scenes I've seen in the MCU. 2. Ant-Man's brawl against Kang was brutal for me and I felt super sad at seeing Paul Rudd's face getting beat up and bloody. Other than those, nothing really comes to mind about this movie.

So, personally, I did enjoy this movie *as a whole.* I enjoyed it more than Love and Thunder, at least. That one felt more abusive toward the character of Thor than this one does, portraying the God of Thunder as just... mentally broken, with intrusive, bad comedy forced down our throats. Scott, at least, is driven by the motivation that he has had since the first movie: his daughter Cassie's safety, and the film does respect that. When he's on screen for it. I do hope that you come back to it with another person to help you through (just have them watch up to where you stopped, so you're not having to slog through the first part again, maybe?), because I do feel like it gets better. It even has ants. Fundamentally, though, 99% of the problem is that this movie was set up to bring the next big bad to the movie side of the MCU (and out of the Loki series), rather than being about Ant-Man, himself. And then... the actor of said big bad got convicted of domestic abuse and harassment, and was summarily dropped by Disney... leaving the whole arc of that character in the garbage bin... unless they ever *actually* get an actor to replace Majors to take over that role. But, yeah, Janet really screwed up by refusing to even give the basic information of "it is full of dangerous people down there, and it is vitally important to not even try to study it." But, no... she just pretended like nothing bad (aside from being cut off in an alien world for all of those years) happened to her. Her refusal to share any information is why everyone is down here, and... yeah. Still, they shouldn't have been studying it, even then. Ah well. I am sorry that you couldn't make it through this one solo. I really can't fault you for that. I will say that there are good Marvel movies still to come, but also... there are some real stinkers, too. I _really_ hope that you catch up with the shows, though. They're starting the process of integrating the results of their events into the movies.

But shortly after the actor got into legal issues and they shifted away from kang, which is why In Loki season two they just say “we are dealing with kang variants and they are all being handled” as a way to wipe him out as a threat for now.

I don't know why Disney-Marvel seems to be completely and utterly opposed to just recasting the characters when things like this happen. Like yeah, if you're recasting them for asshole reasons (e.g. the studio wanting to make the role bigger but not pay the actor more) or the character's story was completely finished but the studio wanted to milk it (e.g. The new Matrix movie) then audiences will probably be annoyed. That I get and it annoys me too. But when it's a character with an ongoing story and you can't bring an actor back for due to outside circumstances (scandals, deaths, etc.) I think most of the audience will understand why the change happened. And if it's an issue of a change in creative direction because you don't feel like the character will be right going forward, just recast Kang, finish up his story in a movie or show, and move on from there. But it's super annoying when you begin setting something up only to just abandon it with little or no fanfare. I didn't even particularly care for Kang (at least not in this movie), but good grief.

It sort of is and sort of isn't. An issue with the DCEU's new continuity is that while they did essentially reboot it, at the same time they wanted to keep some of the things that people liked from their more recent movies and shows like Peacemaker (hence his cameos and the continuation of the show). This creates a problem in that we now have the question of which parts are canon, how much of it is canon, and (depending on which parts are canon) how the canon bits make sense if they're directly tied to other events that are no longer canon.

I empathize with you. The fact of the matter is that marvel was still riding the success of Endgame and No Way Home so they didn't try with a lot of these. And how they butcher Scott and Cassie's relationship in here is so shitty. They had some of the most enjoyable interactions in the franchise. The second Ant-Man movie didn't blow me away, but the scenes between Scott and Cassie were always fantastic or adorable or both. Here, they just threw it away for no reason

It really sucks that this movie's writing was so bad, because the movie LOOKS Beautiful, its an amazing setting that could have been explored a lot more then it was. If this movie wasn't about a Kang taking over the Quantum Realm, and was instead something like a Jumanji or Journey to the Center of the Earth type plot, it could have been SO MUCH BETTER. Considering that shortly after this movie released, the actor for Kang decided to do things that got him kicked out of the role, but also put in his contract that he couldn't be recast, I don't think that The things that link this to Loki are gonna appear again. Hot take, if you couldn’t get through this I cannot see how you got through Wakanda Forever. That movie is a three hour shameless cash grab after Chadwick Boseman’s death, with so much needless stuff attempted to be shoehorned in, the demonization of Mesoamerican/Mayan culture to serve as antagonist, and a lead actress who was a known Anti-Vaxer during the peak of Covid! But yeah sure this movie was bad enough to stop. To each their own, I’m just glad Guardian of the Galaxy 3 is next which IMO is way better than this movie and hands down better than Wakanda forever. But if you need even more reason to know why Guardians is the one Perfect Trilogy in then you should also give the Christmas Special a watch. It’s less serious but a fun time with characters that deserved more screen time in the MCU.

If you were to get back into the Hobbit, I have a distinct feeling that would definitely lift your spirits after these 'Super Flops'. Also, I agree that they went too hard on women empowerment. I got nothing against women proving they're capable, but nowadays it feels like a lot of people try too hard to demonstrate that, not by showing them doing something impressive, but by just depicting men as being "incapable" by comparison. Wakanda forever paid a beautiful homage to Chadwick Bosman in a tasteful and respectful way both in and out of universe. I could not have asked for better. Not a shameless cash grab. And making a character the antagonist IS NOT the same thing as demonization. The Atlanteans' were the the antagonists but as was clearly pointed out the governments were the bad guys. The depictions of the meso American culture both being attacked by the Spanish and their city building and culture were amazing. I genuinely have to hard disagree with you. I genuinely love the relationship between Shuri and Killmonger, and Riri is a fantastic character. Do I think it was a bit busy. Yes. But it was an emotional ride that left me looking back at the film fondly. It is a good film. Not perfect but soo much good in it.

I also didn't enjoy Wakanda Forever too much but both things you brought up are not at all related or similar to the reasons Alicia dropped this movie, so I'm not sure why you thing those are reasons for her to drop Wakanda Forever. She dropped this because the writing was boring for her and she saw tropes being done in ways she doesn't enjoy, this is all within the movie. The anti vax thing is not something she would know watching Wakanda Forever, so not relevant for her to drop it. The culture thing while potentially valid she would need to actually know about those cultures and also make the connections in the same way you did, without that it can just be enjoyed as that's how that race of people work in this fictional universe, so not relevant for her to drop it. They paid homage to Chadwick which she liked a lot the way they did it, so obviously not an issue. She explained on this movie why she saw those characters and the tropes in that movie in a positive way. Like, it's obviously fine if you don't like it and like this one, or don't like either, but at least try to get mad about or point out things that make sense if you are gonna compare like that.

I can't blame her, at this point there isn't much good left in the MCU. Only one I would actively recommend is Moon Knight for Oscar Isaacs performance (and I like the character) and that's it. I dont get the hate for this movie. I really enjoyed it when i watched it. The only marvel movie i didnt like the whole way through was love and thunder and since then ive come around and like that movie

only redeeming quality of this movie is Johnathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror after seeing him as He Who Remains in Loki. That being said they are probably never going to follow up on Kang after they fired Johnathan Majors. Also the background in this film looks cool but that should not be the focus of the visual effects artists instead of a main character who looks worse and makes the film worse.

Not to insult you or anything. But some people who like to watch movies beyond just simple entertainment (those who like the background writing, story making sense and character work etc) tend to not like most of the …latter movies…because they lack. Some people enjoy the details and like it when the care is shown. Not just slop. But some people aren’t like that and it’s also okay.

I mean, Deadpool & Wolverine is Marvel. I will 100% stand up for What If...? (at least through season 2 - that season was gold) and Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Heck, Brave New World isn't bad, either. I get that it doesn't have Steve, but it isn't bad at all. That, and they gave away the movie's big reveal. But, for me, it was really respectful of the characters involved.

In my head deadpool & wolverine doesn't quite count as MCU yet though, what if was good for a bit but overall doesn't add much so it slipped my mind, I did enjoy it though. F&WS I enjoyed the first few episodes but kinda got bored, I didn't see BNW but from the trailers and clips I did see it didn't seem like it would redeem marvel for me personally. It feels like most of these new shows and movies are trying too hard to recapture that old MCU magic too quickly, but that's just me

it wasn't my favourite but I did enjoy it. I was trying to think why and I think I did actually zone out for alot of the parts up to where you stopped so it actually makes sense why my opinion of it as a whole is alot more positive lol. I think a big problem with this movie was it's reliance upon stuff Outside of the movie, specifically with Loki and with the comic books. What sustained me through the 'boring' bits was my knowledge from the comic books about Kang and my knowledge from Loki and 'He Who Remains'. The anticipation I felt based on that was what sustained me. While you were like, "Shut-up, I don't care about your backstory!" I was all, "Oh shit, she mentioned 'The Conqueror!' It's HAPPENING!!!" For someone with no knowledge of Kang or how it relates to 'He Who Remains' I can imagine this all seemed empty and pointless. To get in on what I'm on about: In Marvel Canon (Movies, TV, Comics, the whole shebang). 'Kang the Conqueror' is one of the most powerful and dangerous villains in the multiverse. Right up there with Thanos even. What makes him so dangerous? He's a genius engineer, like Tony. He's from thousands of years in the future, with access to all that crazy tech. He's got time-tech. There are ordinarily MILLIONS if not BILLIONS of Kangs out there in the multiverse, even if somehow you manage to defeat one, there's always a Better Version of him out there that's probably gonna wanna have words once he hears about what you did. 'He Who Remains' from Loki? He's a Kang Variant. That war in the future across mulitiverses that erased timelines? That was all Kang Variants. What made the Sacred Timeline so 'Sacred' was that 'He Who Remains' engineered it so that it was impossible for a Kang to rise there. If you have no clue who Kang is, or that Kang is a 'He Who Remains' variant and that it's Kang (The Conqueror) you saw in the opening and not 'He Who Remains' then all of the Everything that's intended to build-up dramatic suspense just falls flat.

thanks for the context!! I went and picked up where Alicia left off and I honesty really like the premise of the movie. Like the idea of showing them fighting a Kang that is deprived of most the resources he would normally have and yet they barely beat him... just to realize he lost against the other kangs. it's a great idea for building up how big of a threat 1 of them can be. that being said, in execution I think the movie is mid but with some nice moments. TLDR: loved your comment, and with context I thought the movie was okay but wouldn't rewatch

When I was watching your reaction to Black Widow, I got about halfway while watching at work then it took almost 2 weeks for me to realize I hadn’t finished your reaction yet lol. For this movie I got about 30 minutes in before I realized it was very short, then I got to your rant and realized yeah not worth finishing.
