And the live action casting is not done solely based on someone's skin color (because you don't cast someone just because they are the right race, you cast people if they act well and portray the character properly). Excuse me? Garp isn't a terrible character, he was put in a terrible position. Sure, most would make the opposite decision, but he did, in a way, try and help by not fighting. It was either go against his life's work, go against the thing he put into his whole life, or save his adopted grandson. And as much as we can dislike his decision, if he did save him instead. Don't you think the Government would go after Ace harder, whilst also destroying everything to do with Garp, be it hometown, etc?

Oda has made it very clear that Garp’s decision to not betray the WG and instead continue being their “hero” is weak and cowardly. That’s why after Ace’s execution Dadan punches Garp and calls him a coward: Even though Garp wanted to save Ace and knows the Marines are being used to do evil things he is too committed and loyal to betray them; And, even though he went against his personal morals to stay in the Marines, Garp was still too weak to fully give up those morals and commit to his role as an enforcer of the World Government. So, like a coward, Garp just sat there and watched; hiding behind his status as an independent vice-admiral and hero of the Marines to simultaneously avoid fighting to stop Ace’s rescuers and justify never doing anything to prevent the death of his beloved grandson.

Kidd AND Law both got a little to big for the Bitches. They Took down Big Mom. Yes. But they double Teamed her. They BARELY beat her. And even had to Exploit her Devil Fruit. Got the CRAP kicked out of them. AND she was already weakened. They thought they were on Luffy Level. Yes Kaido was also weakened from fighting. (A bit.) But Luffy took him one on one. and no Exploits. Luffy is DEF stronger than those two by a lot. And HE would barely be able to take a Fresh Big Mom or Kaido alone. If he even COULD. Those two got big bounties and forgot that the two of them together did half the work. While the other 3 Billion did the other half.

Difference is usually Luffy just does not CARE. Plus he can usually back it up. In the East Blue all the way up to Rob Lucci. Luffy was basicly able to run over all opponents physically. Pirates and Navy. ONLY Rob Lucci gave him a Fight. Crocodile was defeated after Luffy could hit him. Same with Enel. And AFTER Rob Luci. Gecko Moria basicly ran away and Used Oars. And with the Gears Luffy was STILL able to take down his powered up form. Then AFTER time Skip. Luffy did not even have to Use Gear 4 till Dofy. And that was pretty much Over Whelming him. THEN Katakuri was the ONLY ONE to give Gear 4 issues. So Luffy really could back it up. It took the Greatest assassin cp 9 had. To Slow him down. Then after time skip it took a over Billion dollar bounty and an emperors #2 to really push him. In Whole Cake he was not trying to go after big mom. And the ONLY reason he tried to fight Kaido early was he thought Kaido killed his crew. Luffy was not seeking out to fight an Emperor on his own. Differance between Luffy and kid here is Luffy could back it up. AND was not out here Trying to hunt them down solo. He was more a If it happens it happens. And was even willing to run when faced with an admiral or a Yonko before wano.

Woah woah woah, i agree on Law and Kidd but lets not get it twisted, Luffy lost like 3 seperate times in that fight. The only reason he pulled a W on Kaido is plot armor, he had like 4 people helping him out at first, then he got a rest and food boost while Yamato was keeping Kaido busy, then got a perfectly timed awakening and even THEN was barely keeping up. To say he used no exploits is cap, it doesn't matter how much stronger he is, if he was in the shoes of either of the other two Luffy would get clapped atm no contest

Not really. To begin Luffy never evaluates if "he can back it up" nor analyze how many power ups he got and if it's enough. Once he decided to kick your ass, no amount of "you're crazy he's an Emperor, god or whatever" changes his mind. Obviously Kid is a jobber here, but there is nothing especially wrong with his inflated ego and attitude .. He just ain't the MC. hell we don't even know whom he fought against and took down on his log route, since he was literally an offscreen side character. He just ain't him. But i won't fault him for not quacking in his boots over reps and title, and believing in himself that much. Giving me a list of accomplishment and power-ups is kinda missing my point anyway... I'm not even equating both, just saying that they react kinda the same way about foes , when committed to a fight, they don't give a F and believe in themselves till the end.

Both Kid and Law don't even know about the advanced Haki techniques that Hyogoro taught Luffy.... they are both at a big disadvantage in that regard. And despite that Shanks still acknowledged how dangerous he is before striking him down.... Kid has a big ego, i won't deny that... but this overwhelming defeat was not because of that.... this happened mainly because he doesn't have plot armor. If it was Luffy the one in this situation (and even if he didn't know about the advanced haki)... Oda would've still made him find a way to either escape or perhaps even counter. And also.... narratively speaking.... after everything already shown with Kaido and Big Mom... Shanks needed to do something to demonstrate his status as Emperor of the Sea, and unfortunately Kid was the one chosen to take the L for that demonstration. Like i said in previous reactions.... neither this defeat nor the comments of haters will ever make me think less of Kid... he already demonstrated he is a Great Pirate, and to have to be taken down by one of the 4 strongest Pirates in the world... only solidifies his character in my eyes. And besides..... he's definitely not dead, i have a strong suspicion that Oda still has something planned for him.

Its weird to me how people have a skewed perception of Kidd vs Law and Luffy, when all three are the same. I think dragon ball powerscaling brainrot has infected too much of the One Piece fandom, because this was never going to go any other way, nor would it have ended differently for the other two knuckleheads. Kidd didn't, realistically, have a choice. It was either give up all his poneglyphs and leave, hence losing all progress he made up til this point, or fight Shanks. There was absolutely no choice to be made here, and you know damn well the other two would've done the same thing he did, and get absolutely wrecked by Shanks. Worst thing is, Law was the actual stupid one in this scenario, he had every opportunity to get away from Blackbeard, nobody can tell me he couldn't escape when he has a damn submarine and teleportation powers. He chose to fight arguably the most powerful Yonko for absolutely no benefit, -100 IQ points on that one. That whole "Law has intelligence" thing is highly overrated, bro couldn't beat Vergo, Doffy nor Big Mom without help, so his intelligence doesn't amount to much. Edit: Also something i couldn't help but correct. Where tf did we get this "Big Mom was weakened" idea? No she wasn't. Mom actually GAINED in power twice, once when she made Hera and could utilize her trio of homies properly, and twice when she ate a piece of her own soul to grow larger and stronger. Kidd has been able to do with his devil fruit what even Luffy couldn't before Ryo: Damage a Yonko through their Haki. Theres calling him arrogant for taking this fight, which is 100% true, and then just disrespecting a character that hard.

You love to see it lol I never even implied Law and Luffy would attack the other ships, but it wouldn't have mattered regardless. Whether Kidd just pushed the ships aside with his power and went over to fight Shanks, or blew them up to draw Shanks out is irrelevant. He would've fought Shanks in the end and lost the same way. Shanks asked Dorry and Broggy for help before he future-sighted what Kid was gonna do, so he always intended to wipe him out. (Also crazy how we go off on pirates in a pirate show for acting like pirates??) The point was that both Luffy (because hes just stupid like that) and Law (as evidenced by his Blackbeard fight) would've fought Shanks as well when faced with the same choice, how they would've approached it is irrelevant, the end result would've been the same.

Katakuri was known for his Advanced Observation Haki, and how it allowed him to see brief moments of the future during a fight. His Haki was limited to seconds of time. Shanks saw far enough ahead to mentally assess the best option, give commands to his crew, run to the back of the ship, and then leap to the front line to prevent the very attack he saw and only moved to prevent when he saw how much damage there would be. He also used Roger's Divine Departure, a Conquerer's Haki-based sword strike that has been shown to be among the strongest individual attacks in history. His mere presence was enough to knock out weaker Whitebeard crew members. He's a Haki monster on a completely different level than anyone else we've seen, even Kaido.

Law only did it because of Big Mom's defeat which happened AFTER Kid tried to fight shanks the first time. I fully understood you and you are still completely wrong.

Okay lets break this down because one time it was funny, twice is just embarassing. Holy yap incoming, but like i get mfs loveee to get off on being right on the internet but some basic reading comprehention is required if you're gonna blatantly call people wrong. BEFORE Kid destroyed the ships, Shanks was told he was coming and that he blindsided them. He then offered the choice of leave the ponegliffs and go, or face him to minimize the damage. Considering his pride, his status as a top contender of the worst generation and all hes had to go through to get the ponegliff rubbings, there was no way he could've backed down. There is 100% NO chance somebody whos watched 1000+ episodes of this show can stand here and tell me Law or Luffy would not have made the same choice of fighting Shanks. Because again, whether they attacked first or not, it WOULD have resulted in a fight. You do not roll up on a Yonko as a top contender (or a Yonko yourself) and it not resulting in a scuffle. Especially not these three knuckleheads. I'd have agreed Law wouldn't have to make that choice because he usually isn't gung-ho for fights, before he blatantly decided to fight Blackbeard like a dumbass instead of retreating from a fight he had no hope of winning nor benefiting from. Luffy would've absolutely squared up with Shanks no doubt (though i imagine their encounter would've started off more friendly). Luffy has stated that he plans on defeating EVERY Yonko, so he would have had to make that choice and fight Shanks. Your misunderstanding comes from the idea that this fight wouldn't have happened if Kid didn't strike first, when it is made 100% clear that Shanks was going to tackle Kid regardless, Shanks is not stupid he knows the choice he offered Kid was not a 'choice' at all and that Kid was never going to lay down and surrender. Continue calling people 'wrong' all you like, 1000+ episodes of this series back up what i'm saying several times over. You can feel free to disagree that Luffy or Law wouldn't have ended up in the exact same spot, but that was never my point, it was that when put in even a similar situation the outcome would've been the same, because at the end of the day all three of them are basically the same knuckleheads.

Oh yeah. Luffy Lost a few times. But he was also the only one besides Zoro that could DO anything during the fight. Law and Kidd could not even really hurt Kaido really. And honestly... Yes for a short period they were fighting 4 on 2.... But Luffy and Zoro were pulling WAY WAY more Duty on that one. Law and kidd mostly held off big mom. and any real damage was done by luffy or Zoro. Add in the fact when you really look at abilities. they are SO far apart. Luffy has advanced Haki in all three areas. And even advanced Conquers coating to some degree. Physically he is also way above them. Kidd is closer physically. But Luffy still is stronger and faster. Even in base with out DF. Kidd and law do not demonstrate any Advanced Haki ability. And while Kidd dose have Conqueres haki.... Its kinda crap and he barely can use it. Haki is KING in one Piece. Like Kaido said. And was it a bit Plot Armor.... Sure. But no more than most in my Opinion. Like there always being a new Super Sayian form that gets unlocked at just the fight time. And the last loss was due to interference. ( a Plot element.) And no matter how you look at it. Plot device or even win to loss record. Luffy was able to stand toe to toe with Kaido at all one on one. While Law and Kidd Barely Survived with already awakened DF in a 2 on one with an emperor whos biggest strength was more of her Crew and military might. (Thats why there was no saying about big mom. But Plenty about Kaido.) Again. Law and Kidd could not even Hurt Kaido AT ALL. But Luffy did. Even in the beginning of the fight. Now do I think Luffy could take a Fresh Kaido on one on one.... Probably not. Or at least not where they are in the Anime. MAYBE after the next arc. But He would have a CHANCE. And most likely COULD take Big mom solo. Maybe 50-50 or 40-60. He has the physical power. He has the Haki. He has the DF. And he has the Crew to do it. if he encountered a Fresh Big Mom on her ship with just her single Crew yeah he would have Decent Odds. (NOT Shanks. Pretty sure Shanks was Always stronger the Kaido or big mom in Crew and pure power.) Hell. Depending on if Zoro could take Mihawk they could Probably Take Buggy. And a Decent Shot at Black Beard. (Black Beard mainly cause Luffy Haki and even with out DF he is so powerful.) But Kidd and Law? Not a CHANCE. They Lack the Haki. the Crew. And honestly the versatility and power to face an Emperor one on one. Again. Big Mom was Just as worn down as Kaido. And they Barely won with two of them, While Exploiting her Fruits Flaw (Had to be heard to inspire fear to cause the Soul pokis.) AND they Just about were done in by her. And Honestly She is probably the WEAKEST in a one on one of the 4 original emperors. Awesome Army and the most versatile in ability. But Im betting she was the weakest fighter out of the original 4. And Kid and Law had to fight her two on one the entire time. BARELY pulled it off.

I feel like people use this moment to down play kidd but he'd actually put up a solid fight if he was actually ready for that attack. he got speed blitzed by shanks. in a 1 on 1 I truly do believe hed be able to take a lot more hits. i mean the dude was getting CLOBBRED by big mom and was getting back up. he doesn't have Zoen Style durability that luffy has or Laws ability to move out of the way fast enough. Even shanks gave him props because he knows bro was truly a threat.

I don't really believe that. Luffy still got his mastery of Haki that transcend some blood heritage or birthright. And Luffy still trained a lot with a fruit that most would initially believe worthless or not that great. Technicalities about the types of fruit aside, Kid's power would be something a Main Character or Main Villain would easily get in another show.

Kid lost his arm to Shanks, and then got bodied by Kaido. So you'd think he'd have some kind of plan around Shank's counterattack, but he basically just does the same thing I imagine he did last time - except this time he's strong enough to force Shanks to go all out to prevent collateral damage.

Luffy does tend to jump in head first but unlike Kid, Luffy actually learns and trains after each defeat to come up with countermeasures each time he gets defeated. He comes back to Crocodile round 2 with Water Luffy and then uses his own blood when that fails. He comes back with Gear 2 and Gear 3 after losing to CP9 and Aokiji. He comes back with Advanced Armament after being defeated by Kaido.

I don't even get why people wanna compare the on screen feats of Luffy vs a guy that has been off screen almost all of One Piece, except for Law a solid chunk of it. All we know is that supposedly each Worst Rookie had a journey on their own log pose route. Don't see how any of us would know, if Kid learnt from any mistakes and trained in countermeasures, or not , like Luffy did. Clearly Kid at least learned some stuff and evolved in his corner, since he even got his own awakening. he was shown using it the very next time we saw him fight.

Tf you mean Law would smart his way around the fight. Law had gotten the same ego boost Kid had and then went and challenged an emperor. He has teleportation powers and a submarine that can evade even the navy on full look out (marineford) but he still took the fight with Blackbeard. If he had just taken down an emperor I can't bash him for thinking he can take another one. And he obviously has a vendetta against Shanks since this is the third time he tried to kill him (second was Apoo, Hawkins, Kid alliance). No one blames law for getting bodied by Doffy because of there history and I am certain we're soon gonna see Kid's history with Shanks. And either way it's not like he could even choose to get out of that fight even if he wanted to. He can't teleport away or hide underwater like Law and he's approaching an island swarming with crews loyal to Shanks. With his resources it'd be impossible to sneak past him and "Give up all your ponegliffs or fight me" isn't really a choice.

Anyone saying Luffy would have done the same as Kid hasn't paid ANY attention to the series for over 1100 episodes. Kid sacrificed his entire crew to try and rematch the pirates that instantly defeated him. Kid's crew didn't even see Shanks. The Red Haired crew cut off Kid's arm and bodied his crew without their captain. He was then so horrified of Kaido he instantly became his slave like a dog. After all of that he decided "I haven't gotten stronger but I should rematch Shanks" and got his crew killed. He's a bad pirate, weak, and has a shit attitude. Apoo was unironically a better pirate And if you think barely defeating Big Mom is justification for fighting Shanks then you also think Shanks could one shot Big Mom.

You need to understand Kaido's personality. A bored behemoth of a man who was introduced into the story by jumping head first from a sky island to die because nothing could thrill him anymore, lamenting how Whitebeard managed to die in the war. Before clapping Kid's & Hawkins' entire crews' asscheeks, he screamed to the sky wanting Doflamingo to hurry up producing the smile fruits to create the biggest war in the world and (hopefully) die in battle. During Wano he got so pissed he literally sent a CP0 agent to meet Ace because he fucked over the first fun battle he's had in years with Luffy. He's designed after THE Genghis Khan. Kaido is a man who lives, eats, breathes and shits battles. Yet people argue that since the manga didn't show the battle, Kaido simply had tea with Shanks and left peacefully. Kaido. Leaving on his own volition. Resigning from A) Participating in the greatest war the universe of One Piece has had in 800 years and B) Not fighting Shanks until one of them couldn't move anymore. Make it fucking make sense.

Also, the end of Wano shows how Shanks could potentially convince Kaido to back off without even directly engaging with him - he incapacitated a Navy Admiral from across the goddamn ocean with just his Haki. Shanks is also not the type of person to kill needlessly, and Kaido would likely know that. For Kaido, fully engaging with Shanks outside of some minor skirmishes would be worthless, they'd just be lost fights with no chance of actually dying.
