When this show first came out I didn’t really understand why it was on Adult Swim, then we got the stairwell scene with Clark and Lois taking their shirts off and being absolutely thirsty for each other and I thought… now I get it!!

Black tie just means suits, dresses etc.

No for men black tie is a tux with a white shirt and black tie . The tux can in modern be a dark color like navy or maroon but the tie must be black and the shirt white . For women black tie is a floor length dinner gown of any color so long as formality is maintained
