yeah......so this is and a few episodes in the future and parts of S2 (again, won't say what happened or when) is where the fans started....treating Lois like another certain animated female who found out about the secret identity of a superhero, and even though the show is still well loved and the reasoning in this show is VERY understandable....it still did cause a bunch of toxic haters to start ruining the show for people, including content creators. so please, Alicia, watch out for people like that in the future as you keep watching.

I think the way they handled Lois and S1 Amber is very different Amber's reasoning and how the writers handled was very poorly written and it made her unlikable and unreasonable Everyone understood her side till she said "Yeah I knew all along" yet she got mad at him for "Running away" from the murder robots

BartonBelladonna

Yeah but unlike Amber, Lois had a legit reason for why she was so upset Clark never told her. She KNEW why he did it, but she had a very bad past of her dad lying to her, and lots of other trusted people lying to her, and her crush on Clark mixed with those past feelings exploded into an understanding reason for why she got so upset. AND in one episode they fixed that relationship realistically and tactfully. That’s why I love this show and I hate the toxic haters who don’t understand that.

King'sBard

Honestly I'm actually glad you waited to watch this show, there were a LOT of stupid people hating on Lois after episode 5

KallaTheWatcher

Another thing to add as well. Since the start of the show we've been shown multiple moments of Lois being the very thing she hates aka a liar to get what she wants. I'm glad that she is called out for her behavior and reflects as well. Including the fact the the writers don't try to paint Clark as the bad guy for keeping his identity a secret. Unlike in Invincible were everyone makes mark out to be the bad guy for keeping his hero identity a secret.

Lois jumping off a building is actually a reference to the old Superman movies from the 70s/80s. They made it make a lot more sense here actually.

I'm following way too many nsfw accounts to use a name here

Hater discord for calling Chopper a baby? God damn. Where I'm from, calling someone a baby is an insult, unless talking about a literal baby and people say kid/child instead. Which is to say, I too get internally annoyed when I hear someone being called a baby when they are struggling through something difficult, but that's a me problem.😂 Becoming a dedicated hater because of a difference in interpretation is crazy.😂 Couldn't fit Clark in that, but he is a precious baby in this show lol

BartonBelladonna

YES! Thank you! Exactly! Both Clark and Lois are right and wrong in certain things. Clark was right to keep his secret to protect her and keep his secrets from being leaked and making his friends and family be in danger, and Lois had a right to know because she was someone Clark cared about and she cares for him, but both wrong too. Clark was slightly wrong not to include her because she was trustable and would not leak his secrets, but Lois was wrong because she shouldn’t have pressured him or blamed him for lying to her, even though she had a legitimate good and realistic reason why she got so mad.

BartonBelladonna

Yeah, right? So many idiots compared her to Amber, when Lois had a clear, understanding, and realistic reason why she got so upset, and both her and Clark rightfully had good reasons for their points and neither are the bad guy in this. Both are just emotionally dumb and high tension caused the rift for ONE episode before it got fixed.

Tor Andre Frantsvaag

its a cute and fun show il admit , but i still think the old Superman Animated series is better but im glad your enjoying it =D

Elias Cristerna

There was also the Justice League Action short called Plastic Man of Steel, where the same thing happens exept this time Superman plans ahead and has Plastic Man cover for him as the role of Clark Kent for when she inevitably jumps for him to catch her.

Eliteguard99

I can’t believe men on the internet had a meltdown over Lois Lane doing Lois Lane things.

Hugh Mungus

I can't believe people are still crying about two year old internet drama.

Alopex The Wanderer

Slade Wilson, also known as Deathstroke the Terminator is the coolest villain that regularly gets beat up by a gang of children. He's the future nemesis of the Teen Titans and I can not stop laughing over this young anime pretty boy version of him before his divorce.

thedangmaster

I admire people who unapologetically are themselves, Although i also weep a bit if that means they get left behind by others. Politeness is a skill i encourage all to practice

Rhodair

aye, I think old animated series is still the best "true" Superman experience, but this series is one I find myself rewatching more

Lance Ivy

wait ... agane wislon ....two swords ......SLADE

Jimmy H Lam

Also I wonder if it's a flex, and if so for who, that Slade Wilson/Deathstroke is the template that was literally ripped off for Wade Wilson/Deadpool. It's so crazy that there were decades of writers stealing either from other writers, or themselves from other publishers.

Miklar Sihn

It is worth mentioning that you can argue that Slade was also stolen from a Marvel character before... because all these ideas are sorta cross-bred between the comics houses.

Dain Greywall

acting as if it's so hard to spell idenitty.

I know a lot of people bring up amber comparisons, but the reason this episode got so much flak when it came out is because quite a few shows were doing the "sour secret identity reveal" at the time. And while Ambers is the most famous it's nowhere close to the worst example. That honor belongs to Teela from the netflix he-man reboot. Amber just gets brought up more because in her case it happened in an actually good show where as the Teela example occurred in a show that was garbage from start to finish. MAWS just happened to air this story beat when people were still (rightfully) salty about other shows doing the same story beat very poorly. I have some criticisms with how this show handled it but compared to how Invincible and netflix he-man handled it beforehand this is Shakespearian.

Ben Gross

I hate to say it but after that “Please don’t threaten people, it’s wrong” my first thought was this dude only fucks in missionary style. I’m sorry Lois but you can’t date this man, he too wound up

Rinthewolf

The difference between Steve and Jimmy is that Jimmy is a friend and Steve is a burden. Cat and Mason actively try to avoid him.
