Sage of All knowing

24:22 idk if ALicia remembers that it was told in deressrosa arc that op op fruit have this one special use, for the cost of the user life the user can give perpetual youth to someone and make them stop aging and making essentially immortal. This is no spoilers as this already been told. but the moment Imu started talking about 800 year ago, I was like has op op fruit been used i him, he talking he was there.

Zarathos Daimaoh

ACKTCHUALLY Igaram should not be dead, since Robin always faked killing him :p

Zarathos Daimaoh

There is a bigger chance than someone in the past used the OP OP fruit on Imu, IF it's the same Imu from 800 years ago. Also it would allow Imu to have a different fruit that got nothing to do with the immortality, on Top. Still doesn't invalidate your theory that such a person would be a walking affront to Nature, an abomination

Vygintas Zubinas

There was a bit of wording that Alicia seems to have missed/forgot by the time she started pondering about why Imu would only use the weapon now. Mainly mentioning of mother flame and testing out the weapon on Lulusia. It's enough to make a good guess on why they'd only use it now, although I think it's also going to be mentioned soon.

Juan Ferreiro

Alicia you need to go back to the moment kuzan and garp hit each other at the same time and try to catch the impact frame, it is one of the most epic impact frames this show has offered

Zarathos Daimaoh

It's not an Ancient weapon, as the Elder clearly stated the need to experiment a Vegapunk creation, check if it works, and to decide from there what to do with Vegapunk. But it's true that when we first saw the attack, you gotta think first that they used an Ancient Weapon

TastyBlueSoap

I don't think that's right. The Vegapunk creation being tested was the mother flame as a viable energy source. That's probably also why they haven't used this weapon before now

Orireth

"as the creator want it to be" is not the wildest part of that convocation, its the choosing Lulusia cause its close part

ArterVex

I can see Luffy making the fruit truly his own and getting one final form. people have made theory's that Imu is or has the powers of a certain sea yokai/monster, an Umi Bozu, which are usually drawn as a towering shadowy monster rising from the sea, with only it's eyes shown

Sam Marsh

Earlier, when Vegapunk was explaining about how the seraphim use Green Blood to replicate devil fruit powers, he said he hadn’t managed to copy Logia types. If that’s the case, then S-Croc (as I dub him) probably can’t use the Sand-Sand Fruit, so I wonder what Devil Fruit Vegapunk gave him instead.

WillGlacier

53:39 GOD I hope Alicia sees this funny ass, dope ass, SINGLE FRAME Easter egg the outsourced animators put into this episode. It's literally just YOUNG GARP AND AOKIJI DAPPING EACHOTHER THE FUCK UP! GALAXY DAP UP!

Supermew

I think so, Blackbeard did remind us a few episodes ago.

Ranginald Vagel

I thought Alicia was going to go into something about how the Op-Op fruit was probably how Imu became immortal but she really went FULL theorizer.

Girthquake23

I dunno why but I'm only getting sound and no video T.T Edit:works when I went to internet explorer or whatever its called now

Green Oak

This isn;t true at all lmao

Zarathos Daimaoh

EDIT : Ok i see, so the mother Flame was the power source, not the weapon itself. I stand corrected

TSP247

my theory is that imu got made immortal through the op-op fruit surgery because that was something they talked about a few hundred episodes ago, but im not sure because I have not watched ahead and I don't read manga because i can't retain it unfortunately. also I don't think there will be another transformation for luffy because very early on in the series they mentioned that every transformation luffy goes through shortens his life span.

Goobert

Hold up what exactly points to Mother Flame being an energy source specifically and not the weapon itself? The dialogue doesn't make a distinction It wouldn't make sense to say "lets test the power source" if you were going to use a weapon, i find it far more likely Motherflame is a copy of an ancient weapon, since they couldn't get their hands on one

Goobert

A lot of people seemingly connected the fact that the Op-Op fruit can give one youth to the fact Imu is immortal, i never really made the connection though it is possible, i still find it far more likely that Imus Zoan itself is unique and immortality is one of its perks. Still it would be very cool if we found out the first user of the Op-op used the ability on Imu, and who it could've been

Mr. Ewok

Oh wow... Morgan's ship is a teapot... cause he got the Tea...

Zarathos Daimaoh

My theory so far is that they'd give him some paramecia that are close in functionality... like Mr3's Wax, Magellan's poison, Prince's clay, Katakuri's Mochi etc .... Imagine how dreadful he would be with Magellan's poison

Okarun

She should watch more romcoms dude, you can't agree more guys

Goobert

One thing i will say, i don't think Luffy should get any more gears. He himself states that 5 is 'his peak', and the series has never even implied theres a level beyond an awakened fruit. I believe the only way to powerscale up even slightly from this point on is Haki, Kaido said it best, at the end of the day it will never be Devil Fruits that rule the world, it will be Haki.

Vendacator

I love the fact that all the elders are named after planets, it's so cool

Okarun

can't believe whapol's just 29 dog

Sprocket

Wow i never noticed before, but at 53:39 when Garp and kuzan punch, i paused and ther eis a flash frame of yougn garp and kuzan about to grab each others hand happily T-T

Andrew

wish this garp was there for ace

BigKez0

Luffy! I think luffy has already been using sun related abilities since Fishman Island, Specifically Red hawk and Red Roc being flaming fists that never really made sense power wise but now we know he has the sun god fruit, well maybe he can do more powerful fire stuff in the future - at least thats my theory. Another piece of evidence id need to go back to properly check is during the gear 5 kaido fight im pretty sure i remember luffy winding up to punch and it catching fire but we've yet to see any flame related abilities used with gear 5. That and advanced conqurers haki training is what i think will power him up further.

Trevor Appel

27:44 It was supposed to last only five years, but everything changed when the Warlords attacked.

TheMaskedOne

You said "don't tell me if I'm wrong" but you are so caught up to date that even we don't have the answer for that

Nunya Biz

Dont forget. At least one method of eternal Life is the OP OP fruit that Law has. there is an operation that costs the user their life. But can grant immortality to some one.

Golden Witch Beatrice

I know you were joking about how vivi was drawn ugly as a villain but I really REALLY love that aspect of One Piece of how people who don’t have a dream/goal are drawn grotesquely to match how they are just existing in such a magical world

Cola Phoenix

bunnies are always knarks or plants

Nick

"if I'm close don't tell me if I'm right" Alica, you are almost caught up now... how should we know?

NickAsNickName

i mean, manga readers, but kiiinda fair

Jake_Whiteshirt

That's why they call him "Surrounded by D"abo!

Lance Ivy

you are so far along now that we are all just cooking there are not aton more answers left that have been answered to date and its mostly just more question . so you can absoluty cook

Chris White

I thought garp used battleship hulls as punching bags in order to Work on making his armament haki stronger. You mean to tell me he Wailed on those things with NO HAKI?!?!!

Cola Phoenix

there is also the fact that they are called devil fruits. and the next grear would be called 6 which is seen as the devils number

ElderOne

Let me big brain coock here...if an island get completly destroyed then the water will rise (if the laws of phisics aply normaly) is that why water 7 keeps sink? Is there fault?

DoctorGeagle

We know why Imu targeted Lulusia, he said so this very episode. It was close. That's it. That's the only reason. He wanted to test if the Mother Flame Vegapunk made would power his weapon, also said in this episode, and Lulusia was conveniently close by. The rebellion and Sabo’s presence were incidental. Even the Elder Stars were hesitant because of the population but Imu didn't care. Imu is the ultimate Celestial Dragon.

GoldArthur

I disagree. I don't think we need to powerscale more. Luffy said Gear 5 is his peak. He said he can now do everything he wants to do. In fact a lot of people disliked Gear 5 at first, because they felt like it was a chosen one trope and Luffy was being given a cheat code that invalidated his hard work and effort. But that's not Oda's style. Luffy's final challenge will not involve upgrading his powers again. They will involve his individual will and determination pushing the powers to their utmost limits to win. When Luffy beat Buggy, Kuro, Krieg, Arlong, Crocodile, or Enel, it wasn't by using new powers. It was by finding new creative ways to use his existing powers and having the will to keep up with the fight until he reached that point. In fact, I highly suspect, that in his final fight, Gear 5 will be taken away from Luffy, and he will have to finish it on his own without Nika's power. If I had to guess, Luffy will need to use Gear 5 to fullest extent to beat Imu, and the final battle will be against Blackbeard (maybe after taking Imu's power), who will use the darkness to take away Luffy's power. Then it will be Luffy equipped with nothing but haki and his willpower against Blackbeard with all his powers. I imagine something along the lines of Blackbeard trying to do to Luffy what he did to Whitebeard. Wait for him to beat Imu, and then try to jump him, but Strawhats step and and take on Blackbeard's crew and Luffy has to face Blackbeard. That's what I'm picturing for the final battle.

Ej

I hope somebody showed Alicia the dap up frames with Garp and Kuzqn

Kisuko

Imu spelled backwards is Umi, which means Sea, so he's literally the opposite of "the mother of all life" if this is not just a coincidence, but knowing Oda I doubt it is

Ten-ten

At 53:39 Mega dap, it's also a Marvel Vs Capcom easter egg

AonixGhostlyQ

Wait so if "god" has a finance leader does it mean they pay taxes too ?

CraigOrangeSoda

I hope someone showed Alicia the wildest Dap on the impact frames from Garp and Aokiji

poke master gaming

alicia please recap the second episode you missed the greatest dap up of the century its when garp and aokiji punch eachother in the face one of the greatest impact frames of all time and thank you for being a content creator i started watching you because of one piece and i just love the vibe of this channel please continue to make such great content youve been a huge motivation in hard times

Lucas Prestes

Hum I wonder, thats the excuse sure but it was too well timed to be just a coincidence. Felt to me he knew Sabo would be nearby and tried to shoot him down, seemed like “its close” was just an excuse to convince the elders without revealing his plans

Dajkenoth

Ah yes my favourite move in all One Piece, Pirate Fireball

Gildarts1#fan

this batch of episodes are so good

Robert Gibbs

I get what your saying but G5 was and still is widely loved. I'm sure you saw detractors , I did too but they are in minority. One piece is a huge fanbase and even the minority is a lot of people

Jyxxe

Koby's decision-making here will never stop pissing me off. What do you MEAN you decided to prioritise helping a citizen of Beehive Island (i.e., a de-facto member of goddamn Blackbeard's fleet) over helping your literal comrades fight a powerful enemy or escaping? What do you MEAN you fell for the most obvious trap known to mankind, leading to your strongest fighter getting seriously injured while trying to protect your dumb ass from getting killed? Were you actually born yesterday? Did you suffer severe brain damage when you were captured? Garp should have never came, Koby's not worth his time to rescue. Send someone less valuable to save an idiot like that.

Julio Castillo

Alicia's theory about the limits of Luffy's powers is interesting... but is mostly not going to happen. Luffy already stated during his awakening that Gear 5 is the Peak of his power, a power that let's him fight with complete freedom (even Oda has stated so), if there was another stage beyond Gear 5.... it would lessen the impact Gear 5 itself is meant to have for both the story, Luffy's character and Oda's creativity. Luffy doesn't need to power-scale further to be able to fight against Imu, my guess is that he just needs to go back to strategizing and figure out his enemy's weakness... which would be cool.... because right now.... Luffy is already off-the-scale in terms of power. It would be really cool if... for the Top Dogs of the World Goverment he had to defeat them by other means that are not just Brute Strengh.

Matthew Newton

..he specifically thinks to himself and says it's a kidnapped person, not a member of Hachinosu. His whole thing was saving the innocent, captured people.

Silver Raven

Ok, but hear me out... Full Armament Gear 5 Luffy?

LittleMoist

the creator line really makes me think" Imu" being "Umi" reversed is important, even if in the kanji(?) the reversal doesnt quite work out like that

Nicholas Johnson

Correction. 3 mofos that supposed top be dead. Didnt that dog guy take some drug that was supposed to make him really strong, but also kill him?

NickAsNickName

damn, you forgot about all the prisoners.

GoldArthur

I had reservations about it at first too. It wasn't just a small amount of detractors. A lot of people were concerned about it, and what it meant about Luffy's personality. If Oda hadn't handled it the way he did, it would have been disastrous, just like the twist in Naruto. Luckily, Oda handled it perfectly and has shown he's not forgotten what made One Piece special.

One G. O A. T. One Dream

nope, that was 4 other duds, that we haven't seen...so I think they be ded. :V

SECH

About Imu, They refer to themself as "Mu" in Japanese, which I've heard to be the equivalent of refering to yourself in the second person, so take what you can from that.

WillGlacier

did bro even watch the episode?
