The supposed "impenetrable" barrier... that everyone passes through with minor damage! XD I'd like to point out that when talking about characters that allegedly move at the speed of light, it doesn't generally mean that they can also think or react at the speed of light too. It could, but it's not a given. Kizaru moves at the speed of light when he transforms, but IMHO his reaction is just his normal reaction. And, of course, since he is an admiral, his reflexes and combat speed are also that good. So it's not like is less impressive that Luffy could get the jump on him, but it makes it more grounded.

it's true that Franky is one of the smartest of the Straw Hats, but he's also one of the more emotional ones (though some of the examples of such are played somewhat more as jokes/bits, but still), so it doesn't feel wrong that he'd be so upset by Kizaru harming (or possibly even killing as far as he's aware) Bonney that he'd just go for his biggest attack without thinking over what said attack is

look, to give Lucci SOME credit at least, he is doing a decent job of splitting their enemy's forces, and generally disrupting/sabotaging. tried to take out main Vegapunk, still injured someone who could've otherwise been a good fighter for them, got Zoro away from the rest of the crew, and if he'd somehow be successful in defeating Zoro (no way that's happening though), it'd be one of the crew's strongest fighters down. tactically, he's making decent choices. he just doesn't know that he's the villain in a shonen

Sure but when all is said and done, he straight just failed the mission, and on top of that disobeyed orders to stay put. It's a complete failure from him. And he lost two active members in the process (even if one was undercover), forgot about that.

And he did not even kill one single Vegapunk yet. Back in Water7 ? He could not even kill one witness, as supposed to. Back in Enies Lobby? He did manage to bring Robin back, but the mission was to get the blueprint, which they failed. There is honestly no reason for him to be in charge of any unit, he should just be a strong fighter within one. He has shown no leadership qualities, no tactical acumen, he's just very strong. But of course it's convenient for the heroes

@Zarathos why though? Kizaru doesn't really do anything while he is moving as light, every time he has to transform back to his human form "to act". You can think he is effectively teleporting then. If he could really move his human body at the speed of light and react in the same way, then I think it would be effectively impossible to even trade a single blow. Yet we have seen him being taken off guard plenty of times. That's my take, though.

Its canon he does not think nor react at the speed of light, literally the point of his character is the juxtaposition of him being slow-going as fuck, but having the fastest devil fruit possible.

Kizaru is just a cool character and I keep going back and forth between him and Fujitora on who my favorite Admiral is. Both are just chill badasses, but Fujitora is willing to call the Government on its shit. And poor, poor Luci prides himself on being this super elite killer only to bested not once, but twice by this absolute goof ball pirate.

Akainu, being yelled at by the Celestial Dragons for irrelevant, pointless things, wonders where he'll go, as a puppet with no free will or mind left, feels so poetic. It's obvious he's talking about Kuma, but Kuma is making his own decisions, and Akainu himself is forced to serve people he clearly can't stand. Between the two of them, it's hard to tell who is more of a puppet.

Yeah true ,but overall i feel less sad for Kizaru. Strong sense of duty i'm all for it... but what's the duty here ? Being a sock puppet for Celestials and serving tea to an Elder ? That i struggle to truly and entirely respect. At least Garp picked the battles he could as much as possible, and did everything to not work with the people he hates within the system. But of course Kizaru got his reasons and beliefs

I mean imagine literally giving up everything for someone you care about, as in literally turning against the world government for that person. They are a close friend and someone you see as family, but it's still decades of service vs that friend and your life, dude is put into the worst situation here.

Sure but again depends also on what the service entails and is. IF your job was mostly about helping civilians, hunting evil doers sure. But just being a tool for powerful and evil people, as he himself said ? And picking that over your loved ones? I dunno about that one. Going back to Garp... obviously he likely dealt with orders, he did not want and like. Yet he still was pretty much devoted to his duty WITH the purpose of serving justice and people in mind. He did not devolve into some tool for nefarious leaders. He got goals and ideals to uphold. Kizaru is bureaucratic evil and a corporate slave.... there is a limit to empathizing with that

So, it got mentioned at some point, but 1127 got a lot of flak for a) the sound design having had zero changes and b) the animation being too fast and cluttered, specifically during the Kizaru vs Luffy fight in the second half of the episode. While I don't get the first criticism, I do understand the second. When I first watched, I was legitimately confused as to what was happening on screen. I could not tell what either was really doing. I had to watch it several times and even slow it down on some parts just to figure out what was being shown. I literally could not keep up with the action. Thankfully, all the action after this slows down and smooths out more so it's easier to make out. Kinda like midway through making these, the animators rewatched them and realized that some people were going to struggle with these shots and decided to address the pacing of the fights better.

Actually wheezing right now, you can't be serious that this Lucci is even with this Zoro. Like, even the anime up until now has clearly shown that Zoro is overpowering him. He fully forced Lucci out of the building on their clash at the start of the fight, they're not even.

oh wow idk how i just realized this its so obvious. vegapunk didnt erase kumas soul/mind, kuma took them out of himself into the bubble bonney found and when she burst it it was sent back to kuma and this is kuma with a mechanical body but his soul/mind returned to him.

i thought the barrier system was based on Kizaru's LITERAL OWN DEVIL FRUIT - if it is, then it feels obvious that he wouldn't have any issue doing so. with Luffy? toon force, of course he's fine.
