Really hope that the next one being tomorrow refers to the next film and not pt3 of this one.

The Silent One

honestly a tad disappointed that they turned "The king beneath the mountain" into a prophecy of woe instead of jubilee The King beneath the mountains, The King of carven stone, The lord of silver fountains Shall come into his own! His crown shall be upholden, His harp shall be restrung, His halls shall echo golden To songs of yore re-sung. The woods shall wave on mountains And grass beneath the sun; His wealth shall flow in fountains And the rivers golden run. The streams shall run in gladness, The lakes shall shine and burn, All sorrow fail and sadness At the Mountain-king's return! As much as i think that the Hobbit wssnt that bad as it is often perceived as, considering the troubled production, i think it would have benefitted from having quite some parts closer to the novel.

Rayquaza_ Cloudz

There's no pt3 so she probably meant the movie

Scrubthulhu

The Laketown Spy with the fake eye patch is Stephen Colbert 😂

Vik Mar

I'm exited for her to get to xmen 97 and friendly neighborhood spiderman

T

The goofy stock screaming and stuff isn't in the normal cut, there's like 30 minutes of extra content in the extended and it's honestly not needed at all. The base one is way better imo, apart from having a little extra content with thrain Lotr extended ones actually felt like they should be in the movie and added very much needed exposition and extras

TwojaStaraIFrytki .

I love for how greatly "acted" and animated Smaug is, and his voice is unforgettable (and iconic) his voice is. for some he may be a drake or wyvern (because of the discussion about wings and legs/arms of the beast), but for me it's one of the scariest dragons in cinema

Houston

If you havent already, I would recommend you go back and listen to the end credit songs in these movies. They really are a good listen and very fitting to the theme of the movies themselves.

Scrubthulhu

We're good! This part was the rest of the movie so that sounds like Five Armies will be tomorrow!

Richard

YEEEEEEESSSSSS AT LAAAAAAAASSSSSST!!!!!! god I’ve been waiting for this. The Smaug and Bilbo sequence is my favourite part of this film. I’m both excited and dreading the next film. those who know, know.

Richard

Yea, unlike her previous Tolkien films she did this one in just two parts, rather than three. So the next Tolkien upload should be Battle Of the Five Armies.

Phantom Penance

“What if it’s a trap??” “A trap’s not a trap if you know it’s a trap; it’s a face-off!”

Cyric Sherburne

To this day this is my favorite movie dragon

JustRiver0o

NOOOO IM AT WORK!!!😭 That's it, I'm clocking out early 😤

Lythr0_Nax

The whole movie I was waiting for Alicia to look up who voices the dragon and see it’s Dr. Strange.

Absent_Fable

Geee i wonder who could have played Smaug it'd be Strange if it wasn't someone relatively known

Vectoris

Okay, so the entirety of the Thrain scenes were not included in the theatrical release if the movie. Neither of the Wilhelm scream scenes were in the normal version of the movie. I get the feeling those are placeholders they forgot to replace.

Sawnderz

I enjoyed the first, and was still riding my childhood glee for LOTR, so I went into this one pretty hype but by the time Smaug's revealed and we're still meandering, setting up all the other stuff, I was checked out.

MMDXXX

This is gonna be one hell of a treat to watch while waiting for Deadpool & Wolverine!

SouthHill

One thing I find really distracting about these movies is the whole... Weird moves towards the camera that are obviously made for 3D. So many movies from this time had that whole nonsense.

Automan217

Precious. And can you believe that Smaug is one of the SMALLEST dragons in Middle-Earth?!

Vegvisir92

the keyhole was invisible in daylight....even if they pressed their eyes right against the rock they wouldn't have seen it until the moon came out

Le Karibou

I really like that moment with Alicia going ''Maybe they're taking it too literally? It could be a saying, a metaphor, something more subtle.'' Girl, these are dwarves. You're thinking like an elf.

Kyutoko

Smaug, tiny baby dwagon boi. So smalls. Precious baby. Also, aside from some volume boosting in post, they didn't really edit Benedict's voice for him much. So, someone get that man a lozenge, his throat must be sore after all the recording sessions he had to do.

Trickys Bottoms

22:50 it was bound to be somewhere in the movie. It would be easier to find a. Movie that DOESN'T use the Wilhelm scream at least once.

Oh! That Robin

I love the Voldo shout out in this one I literally saw a copy of Soul Calibur 2 in a local old games store omg what a great game x3

Jayson Nelson

Enjoyed this watch alot always fun to watch along 😀

Lux Divinum

Smaug is voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch by the way. Doctor Strange, Sherlock, Smaug. Range.

Moviejunkie

Unexpected Journey is still my favorite of the Hobbit movies but Smaug was so good in this.

Goobert

Something else i gotta give Benedict Cumberbatch giga credit for, he not only voiced Smaug, but the Necromancer as well. The way he did it is insane though, they wanted the necromancers voice to sound more gutteral and unnatural, so Benedict took the black speech, an already made up language specifically created to gramatically and phonetically be awful to learn and speak, then on the spot spoke it BACKWARDS. They just reversed the backwards lines in post and thats the effect we got, insane levels of talent

Ben Gross

Are we sure Bilbo is related to Frodo? Because Bilbo has been the MVP this whole time, while Frodo was more of a liability, we sure he’s not Sam’s uncle?

Tobias Di Ryuvia

bard is played by the guy who plays owen shaw in fast and furious

Purist

Benedict Cumberbatch mocapped all his scenes, the videos are unhinged, highly recommend

DanielTheHamster

Gandalf missed out: "It's not a trap when know it's a trap - it's a standoff"

Zakarin Talvas

For real though, I wonder how many people have basically been merked by that silly trope that blunt force trauma to the head knocks people out rather than kill :p It is VERY deadly!

Ben Gross

49:20 not Gandalf telling them to come run the fade , “Lemme get my ones!” In Black Speech 😂😂😂😂

Angry King

fun fact: Smaug and Sauron are both voiced by Doctor Strange himself, Benedict Cumberbatch.

Goobert

Insane disrespect of the only Hobbit capable of carrying the ring for that long

Ben Gross

Are we sure of that? Doesn’t seem like any of the others could’ve, and I’m fairly certain Sam could’ve

Faroth

And if he couldnt, he could carry the one that can!

Tor Andre Frantsvaag

and smaug is one of the TINYEST of tolkiens dragons , game of thrones aint got shit on tolkiens dragons XD

Vegvisir92

Balerion would be Ancalagons toothpick

Vegvisir92

yes of course you're more sure than Tolkien was who made the characters in the first place....i can't imagine the arrogance to think you know the characters more than the creator

Ben Gross

“Few others, possibly no others of his time, would have got so far” that is a copy and paste from a letter he wrote, he says few others, he doesn’t say no one else, I believe Sam would’ve definitely fit the bill

Goobert

"Possibly no others of HIS TIME", meaning he was the only one in the company to be able to carry it, Sam held it for a fraction of a fraction of the time Frodo did and already had trouble letting it go. Never disrespect Frodo McBigDIck Baggins again.

Ben Gross

You literally just said “possibly” like seriously dude, it doesn’t mean nobody at all, “possibly nobody” and yeah, Sam held it for a fraction of the time, but also in the land of Mordor, pretty sure Frodo said something about it “getting heavier” and remember, Bilbo had it for what, 60 years? And he didn’t get all wild until the very end when he gave it to Frodo, and even then he was able to pull himself together on his own, Frodo only destroyed by accident after falling off a cliff

M

next one soon? tomorrow? hmmmm

LordVed

the elves born under the starry sky, who did not follow the gods in the first age to the land in the west, are a complicated bunch. they went through a lot of shit in the first and second age, and their king became an ill-tempered isolationist in an effort to keep his people from extinction. He has his reasons, and deep down he's still a war hero and a good ruler, he's just jaded with the other races and an asshat personally.

Richard

Sounds about right when one is only larger than a town, while the other DWARFS Mountain ranges.

DrCatspaw

At 24:09 the guy with the eye patch is Steven Colbert. They gave him a cameo because he's a supper LOTR nerd.

DrCatspaw

It's important to remember that the ring is intelligent. Bilbo has given in to the temptation to use the ring (mostly because he didn't know what it was). The ring is ok being in the hands of bilbo because it can do a slow and steady corruption. Frodo knows what it is, and is actively trying to destroy it. The ring is corrupting Frodo faster on purpose. You'll note that his corruption got the worst when he was in Mordor, when it would be the most likely to fall into enemy hands. The only reason he made it was Sam carrying him. So it's less who was stronger and more who got hit the hardest by the ring.

Ben Gross

I know there are many different factors, I was just annoyed that a couple fanboys came at me just for making a smart ass comment, I was being funny and they took it way too serious

Julio Castillo

"Friendship is Magic" is one of the MLP slogans.... but you were quite close. And talking of MLP.... Alicia reacting to Friendship is Magic would be perfect.

NickAsNickName

oh the guttural "NO" i belted out when she skipped the end credit song - it's so GOOD THOUGH

NickAsNickName

i guess it's somewhat easier to avoid lethal hits with blunt objects rather than blades, right?

kingdedede bobo

descripsion: "next one is coming up soon too! probably tomorrow" the video: *is 4 days old*

Miguel Aarón García

Damn, I didn't remember the part of "My teeth are swords, my claws are spears, my wings are a hurricane". It's what the dragon from the Chaotic Good Barbarian says!

TwinCat

Bard the Laketown boat guy, and the elf girl Tauriel are not characters that came back in The Lord of the Rings trilogy

Bruh_ve

Watching that Gandalf vs Sauron scene, made me wanna rewatch harry potter

Lance Ivy

i still say Ralph basky did it better

GaimeGuy

one of the dumbest changes made in the films is having Sauron actually reveal himself and fight Gandalf. 1. The Wizards were explicitly forbidden from fighting power with power for their mission. 2. Sauron wasn't ready to reveal himself, hence the concealment magic and the hidden identity. His forces weren't yet rebuilt and regathered, either. 3. Gandalf wielded narya

Kyutoko

They would not have found the keyhole without the moonlight. Dwarven doors are invisible when sealed. Just like the door at Moria, certain conditions had to be met for it to appear.

Kyutoko

Well Bard would probably be dead of old age 60 years later. And Tauriel didn't exist in the book, she was an original character created for the movies. So, it makes sense they're not in the original trilogy.
