Happy Birthday! I like this one alot less than most people. The first two actually had a decent story and scripts. This is is just a vehicle of cameos and references, which is unfortunate. But hey, it's a fun movie to laugh at and a decent farwell to the Fox universe. I hope we will see Cable, Dominoes and the rest return for more than filming for an afternoon in some apartment.

While the two had different actors as Punisher, the 2004 one is, in my opinion, a great introduction to the character. Channing Tatum had said many times I think that Gambit was a role he wanted to do so much because he is such a fan of the character. No one will make me hate this movie. Now in terms of Channing Tatum being Gambit, he was casted as Gambit and was supposed to get a Gambit solo movie for Fox. X-23 was also supposed to get a solo spinoff movie. But once Disney brought Fox, those ideas were ultimately scrapped if I remember correctly Gambit is in Avengers Doomsday. Also, there's a canon deleted scene where a Dr. Strange portal appears in front of him at the very end of this movie

No no Alicia, Channing Tatum's accent is his ACTUAL accent. He is cajun french and spent years with a coach to get rid of it when he became an actor. Its all 100 percent authentic. This is coming from someone from Louisiana who grew up around a lot of cajun family members. That's just how they talk haha. Oh forgot to add that Gambit is Cajun, which is part of the reason why Channing wanted to play him so much.

There's only ever going to be one Blade is a reference to the fact that the MCU was trying to do a Blade movie where they passed the torch to Blade's new, mcu daughter but they kept fucking it up and no one wanted to see Blade being regulated to a pathetic old man in his movie just so he can hand off his legacy to a movie only character. No one can match Wesley Snipe's Blade and to try and do so would be the biggest insult to the character, bigger than Blade Trinity.

1:34:50 Channing Tatum's family is Cajun, which is one of the reasons he pushed so hard to play Gambit. He felt a connection to the character and worked his ass off to get the accent near accurate. Regarding the Post Credit: Chris Even was convinced to join the movie as Johnny Storm because of the raunchy lines at the end. He happily filmed it in one take, no mistakes. IMHO, Deadpool & Wolverine is a love letter to the FoxMU meant to close out all the stories started during the FOX era. As much as I believe this is a great end for these actors in these roles, I believe there's been leaks that several of the characters will be returning in a future multi-verse movie.

Happy Birthday Alicia! This Gambit is getting his own Solo Project now because of fan hype. This Blade is supposed to be in the new Blade Project but as a Mentor for the new Blade (sadly the new Blade Project keeps getting pushed back because they have a problem finding a good director for it). There is already a Wolverine in the Sacred Timeline, or atleast there has been since She-Hulk, as it was mentioned in a Newspaper, so THIS wolverine might not end up being the one that sticks around, or at least not the ONLY wolverine to show up in the MCU. Unless they retcon that newpaper article. Loki can't leave the Chair he is currently sitting in, so even though the TVA was a big part of this movie, he couldn't have shown up even if they could have paid the actor well to be in it, the character is stuck where he is for the time being. Major Drawback for becoming one of the most powerful beings in existence. Unlimited Power, itty bitty living space lol.

The funniest thing about Channing Tatum's accent is that people with no experience conversing with Cajun people will immediately call it bad but people who do say it's near spot on. I'd say it's about 90% accurate, it feels like something is missing but that can be the difference between hearing it in person versus in the movie.

Channing Tatum's Louisiana Cajun accent is actually spot on. his dad is from New Orleans and he grew up in Mississippi and Alabama and Florida but his dad had a thick Cajun accent, so no, he got the Cajun accent 100% correct. Also, do you realize the character Gambit is from Louisiana, and Louisiana is the biggest French-speaking state in the USA. Also, they have a thick country accent down there called Cajun. So yes, he switches between the 2.

Happy Birthday! Your question about how the humans killed the X-men is valid. I think this "worst" Wolverine came from a comic book story line(Wolverine #70). To sum the story up, Mysterio targeted Wolverine and caused him hallucinate like what he did to Spiderman in Spiderman: Far from home. In his hallucination he thought that their enemies were breaking into the mansion and attacking everyone. Reacting to this he proceeded to slaughter all the enemies. Only realizing something was off at the end. After he came out of it and realized he killed all his friends, it broke him. I think they toned the story down for this movie because it would make it pretty hard to redeem that Wolverine. It's still questionable that Wolverine could kill everybody with Mysterio's help. But it is more plausible than the humans doing it. Also, Wolverine went to the bar and left the mansion on extended trips a lot. I'm not sure how hard he would blame himself for not being there. He would more likely blame the humans and go after them. A little grief for not being there yes. But the level of self loathing seems more like he came from the previous story line.

Fun facts: - In early versions of the script, before Hugh even called to tell them he wanted to come back as wolverine, Ryan already wanted an equivalent of that bus fight. Deadpool killing a bunch of guys in a slow-moving panning shot to Like a Prayer. In one of the earliest drafts, Deadpool had fully retired, given up violence and crude language and all of it, and Colossus was trying to bring him back. The script would have had Colossus die, and his final moments be a callback to when Deadpool was dying in the last movie, trying to get Wade to say "fuck" on the count of three. Except Colossus would've died on 3 and not finished. The script then called for Wade to quietly walk off-camera, which would hold on Colossus's dead body for an uncomfortably long time, like 2 minutes or something, before having Wade come back in in the full Deadpool costume and start killing baddies. - There were interviews with the actors who played the other members of the Resistance, about the training needed for that fight scene, and how difficult it was. Channing answered that because he still actively does gymnastics and parkour and martial arts, it wasn't a problem. Wesley Snipes stated that he still works out, but he hasn't done action scenes in a while, so it was like a boxer getting back into fighting shape. Jennifer Garner answered that she had done basically no action stuff for decades, but that she still knew how to do tricks with the sais, because she kept a pair from Daredevil and used them to convince her kids' friends that she used to be a ninja. - The insult speech at the very end is what convinced Chris Evans to do the movie, to the point where he told them that if he was going to be in the movie, that speech couldn't be cut. He showed up on the day with it fully memorized, no cue cards. - The joke about Electra being totally fine with Daredevil dying is because Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner got divorced back in 2018 - In addition to the cameos that you noticed (or at least that we could tell you noticed as viewers), Pyro was actually the same actor who played him in X2 and X3, and Sabertooth was played by the same big beefy ex pro wrestler who played him i the first X-Men movie. There were a ton of other cameos that weren't the original actors, but *were* characters from other old Marvel movies, sometime even with the same outfits, including the teleporting devil guy from X-Men First Class, Psylocke from X-Men Apocalypse, Lady Deathstrike (the woman with the adamantium skeleton and the long blades on each finger from X2), and that one big guy with the stripey red and white shirt, who is a Punisher baddy who was in the 2004 Thomas Jane Punisher movie.

Happy birthday! I love how much of a love letter this movie is to the pre-MCU Marvel movies. I still remember going to the first two X-Men movies in theatres with my sister, the Fox movies were the ones I grew up with. And The Void is such a good allegory for the acquisition and the development hell so many movies disappeared in to. If you have the time/desire, I'd recommend watching some of the interviews with the returning actors, so many of them were so happy to be asked back. It gives the entire thing a genuine heart.

There are SO many little details in this film worth discussing, starting with the obvious: this film was more or less a final goodbye to 20th Century Fox's Marvel-associated films, and leaving room for interpretation for Disney's MCU to adopt some of those characters and franchises. Ryan Reynolds has been part of the 20th Century Fox Marvel films for decades, and I believe he mentioned that he wanted this film to be a bit of a love letter to Fox for taking care of them for so long. The prelude to the car fight is a really fascinating bit of the film - not only is it the single longest monologue that Hugh Jackman delivers from any film that he plays Wolverine, but it's also the only time that Deadpool was rendered speechless (outside of Wolverine: Origins, which was a blasphemous representation of the character). The car fight itself is the culmination of their violent 'flirting.' They keep making suggestive comments back and forth while fighting, but the fade-to-black on a shaking vehicle is about as obvious of a metaphor as it gets. Also, the implications behind Logan having to wrap Wade up like a mummy to get him to stop and let him rest is hilarious. Nicepool doesn't exist in the comics, but his character is remarkably close to Deathwish, who presents visibly as a cheerful, oblivious, green-costumed Deadpool variant who has no regenerative factor whatsoever. It's later found out that he was actually a Doctor Doom variant who went insane. It's virtually irrelevant to the movie but I think it's funny. Yes, Blake Lively was Ladypool, but Kidpool - the 'dirtiest' Deadpool - was played by Ines Reynolds, daughter of Ryan and Blake. She was 7 years old at the time and said all her lines in front of both of her parents, which makes everything she says infinitely funnier in my opinion. There's more but those are the ones that make me the happiest. Excellent film, very much appreciated by nerds and Marvel fans around the world.

That would be a horrible idea. That movie is one of if not the worst adaptation of a video game into a movie. "Hey, who should play the 20 something year old female lead and who should play the strong, muscular soldier that she is in love with?" The obvious answer is a 70-year-old woman with 5 layers of makeup painted on and a 4'8" 50-year-old with a light build. The Borderlands movie was either a poorly thought-out cash grab or a way to hold onto the license, either way it was shameless and would've been better off as furnace fuel.

This wolverine wasn't home in X2 when they came in night he was out drinking. Chris Evans was interested in a part because he got to swear. Jackman wasn't going to be wolverine, but Ryan is a good friend and after Ryan's showing of the deadpools and the fact Jackman would get to wear the outfit interested him. Gambit's accent is actually fairly spot on for his character. Wolverine on the cross is a cover of the X-men comics (Uncanny X-Men #251). Telling Buck no speaking lines was a reference that he actually flubbed his speaking lines in deadpool 2. The Blade line "I don't like you" and response "you never did" is reference to a blade movie that had Ryan in it.

As someone who is half Cajun (Acadian) and half Louisiana Creole, i've loved Gambit ever since the X-men cartoon from the 90's. Channing Tatum's version is one of the better versions but Alicia is right: he switches between 5 different dialects. He switches between southern drawl and twang you normally hear in South Louisiana, specifically in and around the Acadia Parish(Ex: "My Liq-uoor.") He does nail Cajun/Louisiana Creole by calling Logan a "Couyon" (Coo-Yawn). But the rest of his French is generic material that encompasses most characters in national media portrayals of people from South Louisiana. There are subtle differences i doubt most audiences would catch. For example, Cajun French has subtleties that can be understood in Quebec, but may raise eyebrows in France. My Great grandfather quit public school in 8th grade because he spoke pure Cajun French. His teacher beat him for speaking the "Wrong French."(Louisiana French) For example, for a generic phrase "it's hot" would be "ca fait chaud," "il fait chaud," and "li cho" in Cajun, Louisiana, and Louisiana Creole French, respectively.

2:11:00 - I personally thought Shang-Chi peaked at the bus scene and then was kind of a slow decline 'til the end. That fight got my hopes up for what was to come, and it turned out to be the best part. GotG3 was great, but that one was kind of separated from everything else to some degree.
