I rarely read Manga, after I saw this episode last night I was also so fucking angry cause of the blue balls. I picked up the manga and finished it. There is a lot of people speculating it will finish off with a movie. I don't know if that's confirmed yet. I hope they do it in a 12 episode anime though. if you look at the amount of chapters they usually adapt. there is not enough for a full season. but I feel like there is way more than enough content. they could really flash some stuff out and not overly speedrun it. sooo I hope it's a 12 episode anime with some original content in between....

Wibbels

Setup for a movie for sure

Zoark77

I've read the manga and had a feeling on where it was going to end for S2 can't wait for S3

CarbonDog

Akira is our strongest soldier

Kap

It's funny how people think her confessing would end the series, but there are still some very important arcs left to cover

Nym

you can't blame people tho with just how many romance anime end right after the confession, it's literally a whole thing in anime.

Jyxxe

I knew she'd chicken out at the end - there was no way Marin would be able to confess after all that build up. In their relationship, Marin is the brave one, but she always seems to hesitate when it matters most. I actually really hope that Gojo is able to step up and be the one to eventually admit it first. I feel like I was sort of close with Akira having romantic feelings towards Marin? It just wasn't that those feelings were romantic, they were... what would that be, idolisation? Parasocial, but not in a bad way? Still, the feelings were immensely positive, rather than negative, so I'll take a win for that prediction.

RedRam-Ipsen

Same. 🤣 Can't wait to see her last cosplay animated.

Switchchris27

There is not enough content to make a whole season out of, only 2 arcs left and the 2nd is short. Only enough content for half a season and thats if they really spread it out. I have heard that the creator does want to make another project with these characters, so probably a side story in the future or something, but I hope beyond hope that they don't make us wait for the actual final arc until that is created just so they could make a full season. It will most likely be either a Movie or an OVA, and thats if they make it at all. Considering the fact that the manga is finished, the reason most anime are made no longer exists for this story, since most anime are made to boost the sales of the source material. I hope that the outcry of the fans is loud enough for them to finish it in a movie or something. I really hope that they announce something about this relatively soon. Its often announced almost right away if a continuation is green lit when it comes to popular shows.

RedRam-Ipsen

Well i mean We did get one confession in this episode... Just not the one most people thought it would be. 🤣

CarbonDog

I agree that there's not enough original content for a whole s3, but I also think a movie would be speedrunning things a bit. Based on how well s2 did, we'll likely hear sooner than later to what shape things take.

Supreme

It's good that you're watching another anime this season that might or might not satisfy your needs for proper season finale :)

Sancturillore -- Élie Simard-Wallot

By the way, they changed the way this arc ends. Without spoiling, in the manga the next arc starts right away from a discussion the cosplay group had with Gojo and Marin. I'm not going to say what it is about, but Gojo becomes hyper focused and it leads to Marin not getting what she considers to be the right timing to confess. However, this season wouldn't have had a conclusive ending if this arc ended like it did in the manga. It would have felt like the anime season ended right in the middle of something. So they had to change it like this.

Sancturillore -- Élie Simard-Wallot

I thus assume that the next season (or movie since there aren't enough chapters left for a full season) will probably have the group get together for fun or for an anime original cosplay and then have the discussion I mentioned above start, leading into the last big arc. Wait, now that I think about it, maybe there could be a full 3rd season if the mangaka takes part in the production and writes anime original content to add to the series. (There are unresolved plot threads in the manga, so it could be about those. I hope it happens.)

Kap

I suppose that's true. Though one of the peak romcom anime, Tomo-chan is a Girl, begins with a confession, throwing that old formula out the window.

Dark Sunrise Studios

Everyone seems to keep mentioning that they'd maybe adapt the current manga into a movie, but then there'd be NO manga left to adapt into the next season, so would they wait again until there's just enough for a movie and adapt that? I'd honestly prefer if they just waited a bit longer until there's enough to adapt a full season properly. Keep a movie for a finale or major arc, rather than "just because there's not enough manga for a season"

Ryuuji Gremory

It's because the Manga has ended. There might be some more epilogue extra's coming eventually but it's not a serialized manga anymore so "let's just wait until there is enough for a season" might mean waiting till the end of time, because whether or not the mangaka will add enough epilogue, to fill the rest of a season, in a scenario where they don't specifically write it for the anime, is something no one knows.

Michael Mangskau

The emotional edging all these finales are exerting on me is insane XD

Hensonnn

Sadly we would have to get at least a few more episodes of the anime if we wanted to finish where the manga is up to at the moment :'( or a film at least. FYI, if you wanna pick up where they left off into the manga then I would suggest starting at chapter 86. There are some scenes in the final episode of the anime in it but there are some scenes in this manga chapter which were cut out from the episode in the anime so I would suggest starting at chapter 86 since it does progress the story by going into the next cosplay Marin does. The manga is chapter 114/115 is where I think the manga ends and what's after is what I believe to be the after story chapters. Chapter 116 is the latest chapter to be released.

Hensonnn

They will very most likely just do a film instead of a 3rd season. This episode ended on chapter 86 of the manga and to finish the story, they would need to go to chapter 114/115 of the manga which defo ain't enough for a 3rd season

DiabloAnos

Me and my gf had the same reaction you did Alicia, lol. We were soo pissed.

Some guy

My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

Matthew Harms

There had better be a season 3. I had the same reaction. I have read the manga, but was not sure where exactly they would end it.

TroutMan

This season was cute and all, but man there was like zero conflict in the story and nothing really developed other than side characters getting added.

Olympus Games

Not every romance anime needs to be a drama to be good

TroutMan

Not saying it has to be soap opera dramatic or that it was bad, just saying this season didn’t really have any sort of conflict to overcome. Just kind of felt like a sequence of events more than a story.

René

As one who read the manga i knew your will be disappointed but maybe next Season :P

Dip Ateer

The baby of my family is also into horror. I could see him loving something like this.

Olympus Games

>Just kind of felt like a sequence of events more than a story. The literal definition of "Story" is an oral or written account of a group of people and a sequence of events with entertainment purposes lmao. At no point is conflict ever a requirement.

Olympus Games

That being said, this story had a very clear set of challenges on each arc that they had to overcome to create each costume, the fact that you don't consider those as development is why I said you were thinking of "Dramas" when you were talking about conflict. The conflict here is within each person, a fight with their own shortcomings. You're doing the series a disservice for calling that "no development"

John Vucich

You need to watch The Dangers in my Heart next.

Joker vrod

Hey Alicia! Since dress up darling is over for the time being would you like recommendations for other cute/warm animes to watch? If so I have 2, "Komi can't communicate" and "Kobayashis Dragon maid". These are 2 of my favorite animes in general and i hope you check them out(assuming you haven't already seen them in which case, ignore me)

Gabriel171671

Totally Agree!!!! I also recommend Toma Chan is a girl

Zer0Zed

+1 for Tomo-chan Is a Girl. I think Alicia would love that one and it's only 13 episodes long with a proper ending.

Virtuous_Wanderer

My guess would be that S3 will be at least after April 2026 because that is when the full official global release will be for the last printed volume of the manga. My best guess would be fall or winter 2026 at the absolute earliest for S3 but, realistically, if they go as hard on S3 as they did S2, probably even later.

Virtuous_Wanderer

There is probably JUST about enough content for a full S3 if they animate everything panel-for-panel. The series as a whole is I think 116 or so chapters, and they finished at the very end of Ch. 87 (changed the end of the chapter but that's whatever) so, there is about thirty chapters or so worth of content left which is too much for a movie without leaving a LOT on the cutting room floor but, just barely too little for a full season at their current pace. They have adapted ~40 chapters per season (+/- a couple) but, there has also been some content that was removed (and added in a couple rare cases) in the making so, it wouldn't be too reasonable to assume that if the anime adapted 1:1 from the manga that they could squeeze out a full season.

Virtuous_Wanderer

There are ~30 chapters left to adapt which is just enough for 10 episodes if the studio adapts at the same pace they did this season, and 12 episodes if they go basically 1:1 with the manga and take the time to let some of the scenes hang for an extra short bit.

Virtuous_Wanderer

The difference with Tomo-chan though is that thought he confession is literally the very first scene, they don't really do couple stuff... like at all thru the season. It shakes up the formula whilst also sticking to it at the same time.

Virtuous_Wanderer

CloverWorks adapted 48 chapters, and chopped some stuff out. S1 was paced out slower only taking 36 chapters (also with some cut content) so, it isn't unreasonable to think that there is JUST enough for a full third season considering there are like 30 chapters to go (or at least a 10ep. season). Needless to say, there is WAY too much left for a single movie, and the last arc is too short to be adapted into its own movie.
