Anzac-A1

Yeah, I'd turn the subs off. They're not accurate to the Dub.

FromZero2Shiro

I never clicked a notification so fast. This series no joke saved my life as a kid. I was alone and sad and ready to end it, turned on my tv to hide the sound and all I heard was "HEY HEY HEY HEY! YOU WITH THE UGLY FACE!" and I was hooked. Now whenever I have dark thoughts I listen to OST or watch the show again... I love this show and the English cast did a phenomenal job. I hope you enjoy this series it's very near and dear to my heart.

Rat #41

Finish this anime no matter what. The pay off is good.

Mat G

This is not just A mecha anime this is THE mecha anime.

MelodyBunneh

It's time for a WILD ride. <3

Pablonius

Shes finally watching peak cinema! Lets gooooooo! It's not just a mecha anime, its a Super Robot anime and one of the best!

SONICX1027

I’m glad she’s watching the Dub because the VAs really did their best in this show

Cely

Yo!!! I was thinking the other day that she would love this anime. I cant believe my wish came true.

xoXavierox

Do my eyes deceive me!!?!? My favorite anime!! & my favorite content creator!!?!?

dragon emperor ry

Also prepare for the mech anime that is truly so peak

MarakamiSG

Try not to cry challenge for veteran watchers frfr

Chamoun101

Bro...ccoli 😅, believe me, this Anime deserves the hype!

Broccoli Ben

From the clips I’ve seen it’s definitely up my alley.

Yeet

I was not expecting peak wtf

Orireth

Cant wait for more, and yeah it can be sorta tropey, but you gota remember this is like the origin of the anime tropes its doing

Hynkka

Mmmh, yeah, I can't enjoy the dub. Regardless, really happy you've decided to take a look at this and hope you enjoy the journey. It's a real classic.

Ranginald Vagel

I was wondering why I woke up hours early. After reading for a bit, I now understand.

MoD+

What a great Anime. I am happy for a rewatch

Shabaqo

This was probably the first anime my younger brother got me to finish

Xerxesxero

Was not expecting Christmas to come 23 days early this year!

Barbietube

HOLY HELL! I hope she doesn't drop this, this show is peak and beyond

DJSkywalker

Ohhh this is gonna be fun. And it's even dub which is a nice change! Alicia is gonna love this anime, I'm sure of it

kaizerlith

"It's so stupid it just might work" Yeah that fits the series in the best possible way.

Cashryn Sins

Couple good shows you should watch: Ergo Proxy Casshern Sins Chaos;Head Claymore GunGrave Trinity Blood Eden of the East Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress These are some bangers if any of you missed these. They are MUST see gems and makes for some good single monitor content! You're Welcome. :)

rmnlegion

Gurren lagann has always brought me happiness when I needed something to watch in the darkness of times. You will enjoy the anime. And fun fact ( not a spoiler or story related to Gurren Lagann), Gurren Lagann anime director and alot of the animator later on would work on another anime that you are familiar with, Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners.

Matthew Newton

Try tossing these into her discord instead, she doesn't pay attention to requests like this on patreon or twitch chat

Calldero

Best anime ever. I'm going to enjoy this.

Nathiely Vega

I am super excited for this one!!

Jacowab

It's going to be absolutely wild watching Gurren Lagann and then Evangelion nearly back to back, they both perfectly represent the entire mecha genre in completely opposite ways and I'm excited to see your impressions on both

Baka With Glasses

ITS HERE! THE BIG ONE! But for real tho I'm super excited. This was the anime that made me think "damn, I actually love animation" so now I'm studying to be an animator.

Nick

Kamina isn't aura farming, he is emanating aura for others to bask in

Gildarts1#fan

I can't believe your finally reacting to this show. You will not regret it

Moviejunkie

I’ll be honest, I was never into Mech anime’s so I never watched Evangelina or Gundam, but Gurren Lagan was definitely the exception. This show is insane.

macattack

one of the greatest anime of all time

Heisenburg

ROW ROW FIGHT THA POWAH

Lord morokei

Evangelion was BATSHIT I've watched it like 3 times and I'm still not 100% on wtf is goin on, great show tho

PrivateXimmy

I could never get into this as a kid, idky. But as an adult? I’m willing to give it another go. I really loved FLCL and now recently loved Evangelion too, so I know the studio’s mad talented. Here goes!

PrivateXimmy

Those two, Patlabour, Gundam all are very unique parts of the genre as well. A surprising amount of variety!

PrivateXimmy

I’ve also heard SSS Gridman and Eureka 7 were good too, but I’ll admit the genre as a whole is like really big, and I haven’t seen most of it. Big O, Darling in the Franxx, Gunbuster? Only mecha I remember really loving when I was younger was Patlabour and i guess pacific rim counts too? But now that I’m older I’m tryna expand my tastes more.

Jacowab

Oh yeah there's a ton of good mecha but at its core mecha is about the human spirit and Gurren/Eva both explore the complete opposite sides of the human spirit, everything else will pretty much fall somewhere in between those two extremes.

November mind

God she's going to love this show and she's going to cry her eyes out in a few more episodes

Bob

Oh shit, we're watching peak? Genuninely, this is like a top 3 show ever for me, not even just anime, I love it so much. It's over the top, camp, corny and horny on main but there is so much love and wisdom for life here it's insane. "It's a mech anime!?" Wow, you really didn't know huh? That's crazy. The opening song, Sorairo Days (Skyblue Days), is by Shoko Nakagawa who I just love to bits. Aside from being a wonderful artist who kind of goes her own way and does whatever kind of music she feels like she's also a huge Jojo fan and horny on main for Jotaro, fun fact. When part 3 first aired she posted pictures on her twitter of herself licking her TV when Jotaro was on screen. She once did an interview with Jojo author Hirohiko Araki where she showed up to his house in Jotaro cosplay and told him to his face that she wished Jotaro was real so she could be his wife so that he could beat her up and spit on her and call her a bitch. Araki was just like smiling and nodding and going "aa sou desu ne", it was the funniest shit I ever saw. Anyways, looking forward to more Gurren Lagann! I've never actually seen it in English, that's kind of new for me! I kinda like the English dub so far, I like Yuri Lowenthal a lot. It seems the subtitles you have are closer to the Japanese audio tho. Oh well.

Ganon Linkle

always wanted to rewatch this anime cant wait for the rest of the series

TheRuudster

Oh. We about to watch PEAK 😫

PrivateXimmy

Watching this, I can see why, even if I’m excited to watch more of this now. I think as a kid i liked had a similar perspective to many initial viewers: unaware the corniness, silliness and intentional budget shifts were an artistic decision and not a lack of talent. Very interesting show, to be unabashedly “cool” and “ridiculous” at the same time.

Bloodredtyrant

The way my mouth dropped open when I saw this notification at work. I couldn't wait to get home, hoping that this would be Alica's first-time watching Gurren Lagann. And it is! A true pure first-time reaction from my favorite reactor! Get ready for the best OST you've ever damn heard! ROW ROW! FIGHT THE POWER!

Joseph

Dude! Excellent choice for a show to react to!

King'sBard

Who the Hell do you think we are?

Silver Raven

Kamina is the best main character ever and he won't let you forget it. Simon is pretty cool too.

Daxen123

ITS TIME FOR PEAAAAAAAK

Timmetry

Kamina is the MAN of all MEN! And yeah Yoko WHEW she made a LOT of us feel things when we were younger lol WOW.

Kayden

Literally the series that started my anime journey, my first anime pretty much. Back when the Wii was around and had old Netflix on it. This has such a special place in my heart and I am glad you are finally checking it out.

Faroth

OMG YES!!!! LETS DRILL THE SKY!!!!!!

BlastYoBoots

Whatever source she's using will probably have the nerfed-for-TV-air version of Episode 6 instead of the DVD version but I can live with that as long as she experiences the rest of this peak show without dropping it because of a couple rough and half-recap-replaced episodes.

Faroth

so you never watched Attack on titan? you know, that "mecha" anime 🤣😂

ACVIFOR

Oh, dope

Sam Marsh

My drill is the drill that will PIEACE THE HEAVENS!!!

LearnedAndVile

My biggest worry is that the version she's watching has the changed music for ep 25 during *that* scene.

Kapitány Zoltán

I should probably recommend Needless after this... Very similar style, except it has superpowers instead of mecha...

DanielTheHamster

I was DISAPPOINTED! that its still not Lord of Mysteries - but it's FREAKING GURREN LAGANN!!! FINALLY!!! YEAH! DRILL THE HEAVENS!

Paradox

so a fun fact that iirc, one of the creators said that kamina could have 1v1 that gunman with just the katana like he was planning to do so before yoko popped in and won

Miklar Sihn

This is the single most hype anime of all time... and if anything i am underselling it.

The Patriot Patron

If she is reacting to Gurren Lagann now maybe we could hopefully see Kill la kill down the line, this is like the only mecha anime Ive actually finished so Im excited to see your reaction Alicia!

EthanEverhart

Only behind FMA:Brotherhood, this is one of my favorite animes of all time

Easy Mode - A.I

wonder if she already got spoiled like everyone else in the world... wonder how long till people here spoil it

Moviejunkie

I actually did watch the first season but lost interest after.

BakaSama

Gurren Lagan!? *looks at Bingo Card and throws it out* Sure, why not! Drill to the Heavens!

Nic Woolfe

Me: I don’t really need anything for Christmas this year. Alicia: (posts this) Me: Well, if you insist…

Vloddamick

So excited to see Gurren Lagaan! You're gunna love it!

DrOverbuild8363

Ahhhh a crazy insane classic. I've only ever seen this show once, not because I didn't enjoy it, but because its a bit too much of a constant adrenaline rush and I was fine with just experiencing it the one time..... but I think I can make the exception to watch Alicia's reaction to it. I'm glad that she's reacting to the dub, and really hope this will lead to her reacting to Kill La Kill one day. That show is also Awesome. In my opinion it might even be more fun with its crazy animations, characters, and plot devices.

Den kule gangen

ITS HAPPENING, ITS HAPPENING, EVERYBODY STAY CALMMMM

Alex Hdz

Mech: Also I have been waiting for this Anime to appear in this channel so long. That I downloaded patrón when I saw the op reaction in YouTube.

Easy Mode - A.I

25:05 - bro negging n it's workin wonders. gotta try that myself frfr

Alex Hdz

Oh and I hope she also watches the movies they are so GOTAED

Erin Stone

Oh thank jeebus! Hope to see you react to more Studio Trigger stuff down the line!

Kisuko

well, one specific part of that opening reaction is gonna age well edit: A LOT OF THINGS ARE GONNA AGE WELL

Ben

Gurren Lagan other wise known as "how many dick jokes can we make in a kick ass mecha anime?"

Logan Hamilton

Oh shit, one of my all time favorite anime! Let's FUCKING GO!!

Worpus

Let's start mentioning Movie 2 now haha

Cameron Jones

So so so so happy, this is my favorite anime.

Glitchmaster1872

Let's fucking goooooo. This is my all time favorite anime man.

downright darius

funfact: Shoko the singer of the opening is HORRENDOUSLY DOWNBAD for Jotaro Kujo. She interviews araki in full jotaro cosplay and makes him uncomfortable

Demi

oh Interesting, I haven't watched this in like a decade looking forward to this

Tyler Harding

Yeeeeeeessssssss! This show is PEAK!

KAZAM

Lessfukingoo

Nightmareman99

Let’s fkin go!!!!! Goated show. Just a little heads up there are 2 diffenrent versions of episode 6. Ones a censored version that cuts out the middle of the episode dropping in a recap segment to fill time

Devlis_Renegade

3:00 Oh my lord xD This series about to be some HEAT, I feel it Lmao

RedSkeith

Well this wasn't on my bingo card but i'm all in for this

nicko jones

Peeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaakkkkkkkkkkkk

DasBigUn

this is the show that makes you have a BURNING SPIRIT of gold. Makes you heroism spark loud and high.

DasBigUn

srsly....this makes you change your perspective on life for the better

sixiack

who id going to tell her?

SouthHill

I only watched the first few handful of episodes way back in... 2009 or so. This is a fine opportunity to finally finish it!

chaos

Exited to get this series started. Can't wait for you to meet the huu's

AnaGothic

From the people that gave us Cyberpunk Edgerunners and Panty & Stocking. Gurren Lagann gave me my taste in both Male and Female designs I like from basically episode 1, and cemented them by the end. I have not rewatched this series since I first watched it in 2014. This will be quite the ride.

Aerowind

So for older anime like this, the dub and subs are unrelated. The subs are translations for the Japanese, while the dubs are a bit more concerned with mouth flaps and localization. That's why the subtitles aren't matching up exactly.

Silver Tongue

Can we do it in subs instead of dub? The subs are much better

Vinson Patterson

Unironically, you are helping me watch anime I've been wanting to watch.

KingofYokai

I remember reading somewhere that according to the manga creator Kamina could have taken the invading mech with the sword.

Faroth

Studio trigger rrally knows how to make animes and intros Never forget they did a homenage to guren laggan in little witch academy

Adam Mixon

omfg i love this one. i've been meaning to rewatch it but havent gotten around to it, perfect timing!

KatoBen

100%. Kamina is supposed to sound like a Yakuza wanna'be. The En VA does not portray that vibe at all.

Joshua Garingan

This is one of those series that's so great you could write legitimate writing and analysis essays about it. It's the perfect counterpoint to Neon Genesis Evangelion. You can also analyze it in terms of toxic and positive masculinity

Zer0Zed

If you loved both FLCL and Evangelion, you're almost certain to have a good time with this show. Some have even argued that Gurren Lagann and Eva are two sides of the same coin with more-or-less the same basic plot, Gurren just looks at all the heavy topics in Eva and says to forget about that junk for a minute and give 113% to the ridiculously over-the-top awesomeness that only anime can really pull off.

EthanEverhart

Also just be prepared for some YouTube hate comments, Yoko is canonically 14 but let's be honest the way they animated her...no she's not

Morgan

Ok yeah I cannot wait for episode 9... also hope that when this is done Kill la Kill is next.

KatoBen

1st: Why the Dub. Whhhhy the Dub??? The JP Va for Kamina is so good at portraying the badass, yakuza wannabe. The En VA is . . . meh. 2nd: Gurren Lagann started as a parody of mecha anime and kind'a developed into it's own thing. The show was developed with children in mind, and aired during a Sunday morning timeslot; however, the popularity of the show boosted heavily with the older audience.

Spicy Noodles

dawg she watches 99% of anime in subs, let this slide. the dub is amazing for this show and hits jokes way better.

Wil DeYoung

Gureen Lagann? Holy shit, this is my favorite anime of all time.

Calvin

One that I have waited long for her to begin! Row row fight the power! This is who the hell I am! 🤣

megaorange

She already chose. You will either have to get over it or just don't bother.

Ja’Maine Lee

This is one of the animes that got me into anime

PrivateXimmy

Now you’re making me want to rewatch pacific rim again, haha

megaorange

If you are familiar with Alicia you know whining about dub v sub is not going to change anything.

The Turtle Bear

THE AUDIBLE GASP I HAD WHEN I JUST SAW THIS!!! PEAK

KatoBen

I'm well aware I am a tiny cog in the machine with no power to change anything, but I still need to blow off steam.

SpootDoot

I just finished watching this anime again with my best friend! Excited to make the journey again lol.

ACVIFOR

That interview is WILD. Didn't she say that her wish was for her to have children with Jotaro, and that he wanted him to spit on her?

Cole Savoie

It's an older anime, sir but it still slaps

Azurewolf

to each to there own i like the the dub

DocteurNS

The actual performances in the sub I feel are better, but the dub writing is absolutely amazing. Absolute peak dub for it's time.

Okoga

Sweet mother of fuck YES!!! Row Row Fight The Power! One of the only anime I give a pass for the English, even though the JP is still better.

Matrix

No Demon Slayer? This is great I'm just asking.

DrakonFirestone

I personally don't like it, both Kamina and Simon (especially the first one) in my opinion sound nowhere near the jap VA unfortunately, and I am kinda disappointed just like Kato, but I also understand that that's Alicia's decision that I respect. I also think speaking your mind is not whining and every viewer is allowed to express what they think. He's not forcing anything just said he preferred original and why, no need to be sensitive about it :)

LuxCrank

oh fuck yes.

Connor Morehead

Gurren Lagann became one of my all time favorite series when I watched it last year, so of course I had to become a patron just for this!! Row row FIGHT THE POWER

Dusk Breeze

oh lord... I forgot how poorly casted Kaminas dub actor is, everyone else is fine but it just doesn't match the character he is, the best example is the difference is in intensity and emotion when the line "Yours is the drill that will break through the vault of heaven" is delivered, the EN VA sounds like a guy just kind of loudly proclaiming it while the JP VA sounds like someone speaking with their whole chest full of conviction and when the premise of the show is the power of belief, things like that make a huge tonal difference. But I guess I'll tough it out as this is one of my favorite animes and always hoped she'd watch it even if I was hoping for JP voice acting.

Scott Tyson

LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

blue cloak

That was an offhanded comment a creator later changed. said she is considered 14 in her village but biologically 17-18

Scott Tyson

KAMINA THE FUCKING GOAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alicia Barkley

If you love this I highly suggest Promare a movie from Studio Trigger.

Diesel Marcus

HERE WE FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! PEAK HAS ARRIVED!!!!! YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE THIS!! <3

Shadowbane1992

LONG HAVE I WAITED FOR ALICA TO WATCH THIS

MarsMan

your going to love this show

Omegajim

love the Englishdub on this. Also, big fan.

MarsMan

please binge this show plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Cody Schultz

Oh my god I'm so excited! One of the best animes ever!

JuanmaRailgun

Wow I was not expecting this. I was expecting the mech tho. Because the one thing I knew... was the final battle. There's only two things you need to know: ROW ROW FIGHT DA POWAH! and GIGA DORIRU BUREEEEEIKU

LAVOS PRIME

What Gundam series have you watched so far? I recommend the og 1979 on the the discord.

Kosumi

2:54 Alicia those are his siblings, the only thing he's feeling is himself

Koirby

So, something I learned very recently despite this being an all time favorite of mine is that this series was an experiment of sorts, with numerous artists and animators working independently episode to episode following a singular narrative throughline, as a way to showcase veterans and newbies alike in the ever-growing anime industry. A risky venture, to be sure, but one that paid off in dividends as this story has stood the test of time in the hearts of fans for nearly two decades now. Something to think about as we traverse the world of Gunmen and follow our somewhat intrepid heroes through their adventures beyond the mysterious surface. I can't wait for more :)))

Bambi

WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM!!!

Al.exe

Seeing this post made me :D in real life.

Al.exe

Seeing this post made me :D in real life.

Azula

Would love to see a full reaction to the series its so goated

Domhnall Height

Mecha One of the all-time greats, as well as one of my personal favourites! Looking forward to enjoying this "with" you!

Gingerrr

has she watched Kill la Kill? if not then she for sure should watch it after this

Toa of Z

Second this so much. Kill la Kill is the closest spiritual successor to Gurren Lagann, and both are 2 or my GOATs, no lie.

Toa of Z

I was a bit disappointed we only got 2 episodes of Steven today (and one of them was Say Uncle) but episode 1 of GOAT was worth it.

i'm a human being

Genuinely so happy that ally my favorite reaction channels are watching this!!! It means the world to me to see you watch my favorite anime ever :)))

Nejima

OH MY PEAAAAAAAKKK!! we are piercing the heavens with this one boys!

ArcaneAnomaly

"Bro and his hoes" made me laugh out loud for multiple reasons.

Sal Lopez

Yeah the Japanese version that the subtiltes follow is amazing too

Moonkey

I saw the thumbnail on YouTube and immediately came here. Yes watching one of my all time faves

Bamb

Top 3 anime of all time, I genuinely hope she changes the dub cause this Kamina is genuinely so offputting

Ink Magus

DON'T SPOIL SHIT!!! PEOPLE LIKE YOU ARE THE REASON SHE STOPS WATCHING STUFF!! THERE IS NO REASON YOU NEED TO BE TELLING HER THAT RIGHT NOW! SHE'LL FIND OUT AS SHE WATCHES ASSHOLE!!!

John Tamer

Yay! This was my favorite anime when I was a teen. Looking forward to seeing what you think of it.

aaAAAa

Nah I really hope she doesn't this version does the yells and hype moments better than the sub. Though a bit biased this is the one I grew up with and I cant imagine them as anything else.

Spacefrog

You call Kamina a himbo. I hadn't heard of that term back when I saw it first, so I have always been calling him Leeroy Jenkins. All bravery and self confidence and no brain, but enough charisma to draw people into following him in his suicide runs. One fact that changed this series for me forever. Yoko is supposed to be 14!

Supermew

No she isn't

S

This anime messed me up when I was a kid. She is definitely going to cry at 3 or 4 parts. Good anime though.

Dew

yeahhhhh... she is. :\ The wiki and MAL corroborate. Old anime gets weird; still we soldier on.

Matthias

There are plenty of great english voice actors, they do amazing jobs in games and western animation shows I mean if i'm playing dispatch or watchung hazbin hotle I'm not trying to do so with japanese voices BUT when it comes to anime, japanese is just better. I watch canada, UK or US produced show in english, I watch japanese anime in japanese, chinese donghua in chinese. So I'm a little sad we're going with dub. Especially something as epic and crazy as gurenn lagan wich really, REALLY; bring japanese overall overacting in voice acting to new heights. Also kamina's Seiyuu is also other pure anime goats seiyuu since he also voice enjin (gachiakuta), tengen (kimetsu no yaiba) , luxus (fairy tail), Bulat (akame ga kill) , Helck (helck) and so on.

Matthias

In terms of reaction videos you could also react to simply the full version of an OST called "libera me from hell" you'll hear it in the anime plenty but this is one of the msot iconic OST ever and I think you'd enjoy listening to it and focusing on it.

SpiritOfTheHero

Hard disagree, with both of your comments. But she definitely shouldn't listen to "Liberal Me From Hell" yet. It's much better hearing it in context

Imunyr

This is the one anime that's top notch when it comes to its English, only other I felt that way was Fullmetal Alchemist but also cause that one fit it more. I can't wait to see if Alicia will analyze this anime. Its symbolism, metaphors and theme (drills) got a lot more to it than you might think, or atleast that's what I feel. It especially becomes clearer with the big villain and the ultimate conflict and is beautifully shown with the very last scene. Despite its goofiness and emotions that comes later, I do think it displays a pretty beautiful metaphorical view of life and humanity, and the purpose of life.

Michael Derryberry (Marusame)

ahh gurren lagann, the quintessential batshit crazy anime, after this id love for her to see kill la kill but who knows.

Michael Derryberry (Marusame)

Oh, apparently trigger made yoko 14yo just to tick people off that had issue with fictional character ages because they are based and dont cave to censorship.

SONICX1027

That’s because it’s the same VA who voiced them

Supermew

She is 14 according to the calendar of her underground town that didn't base its years on the movement of the sun. She is in her late teens.

Decoy061

Certain parts of songs get overwhelmed by the voices & sounds taking center stage, so maybe at least afterwards, hearing the song on its own could make for a unique experience! Considering Rap is a Man's Soul is used in three different ways throughout the story, I think it's worth an examination.

Decoy061

I would like a source on that. I assume it has some connection to Michael's mention of trolling censors? If so, that is BRILLIANT

Decoy061

So I did a little digging and the only source I could find asserting Yoko is 14 is a pre-anime release and that it has been considered unreliable as an official source. I think so long as the anime itself and it's creator says nothing, we should assume nothing.

Fuzzyhealer55678

This was my first anime besides random episodes of dbz and Pokémon on tv

SherlockHyde

So excited for these reactions, Gurren Lagann's easily one of my favorite shows of all time. Watching it weekly back in high school is a treasured memory of mine. Man, what a crazy time to be a fan of mecha anime though. This, Code Geass, Eureka Seven, Gundam 00, Gun X Sword, and Macross Frontier all coming out relatively close to each other is wild.

Chase Bray

Just listening to Alicia’s comments during the watch. Oh honey…. 🤣

Matthias

except at no point in my comment I gave a specific time to react to it. And I was pretty sure it was completly understood the reaction would be after the anime because it's absolute common sense. It appeared so obvious to me I didn't feel like I needed to specify because it's simply logical. Also do you disagree about the japanese voices of only gurenn lagann ? Or do you think dubs are just better ? Are you someone capable of critical thinking and actually formed an opinion by listening to the both japanese and english version ? or are you one of those obnoxious english speakers that goes "well i can't undertand japanese so english is better" ? Finally know that japanese being better in anime is a straight up fact and to every one reading this and thinking dub is better please note that I have only disdain for you and I do truly see myself as better than you.

Kenneth Smith

Oh man! I am so excited to watch your reactions to this anime! It's one of my all-time favorites. One of my best friends came to stay with me, because he was going through some rough times, and I was also going through some rough times with depression. We were watching through the first part of My Hero Academia, but I wanted a break and so he suggested Gurren Lagann as one of his favorites. Well long story short, "Believe in the me that believes in you!" became like our rallying cry for each other, and it hit me really hard because where I was at it was so tough just to believe in myself but it was SO easy to believe in my friend and that he was going to do amazing things. So like, it sounds SUPER silly, but that phrase really means something to me. Anyway, TLDR; awesome that you are watching this, can't wait to see more!

Cloud_Clad

Alicia this is literally my favorite anime, It genuinely change the way I see life and how face adversity. I really hope you enjoy your time with this show and especially that you are watching the dub, has a special place in my heart.

Tutty_o7

Absolutely iconic anime in tons of ways, Kamina my goat!!

MettaurSp

Ayyy, I was thinking of rewatching this, but never pulled the trigger. Might as well knock out 2 birds with one stone watching your reaction of it!

Hexx Gear

It's Monty Oum's favorite all time character kamina!!

Toa of Z

Can't tell whether "pull the trigger" is a pun, considering the people who worked on this show went on to found Studio Trigger

SpiritOfTheHero

You seem like fun. If you must know, I've watched the show in both languages multiple times and think the dub is better. Also maybe you need to learn critical thinking because you can't tell the difference between opinion and fact. It's your OPINION that the sub is better not a fact. Just like it's my OPINION that the dub is better. Also that last paragraph proves that you kinda suck

CrazyChameleon

Just when i thought she was never gonna watch anything I wanted to see again XD

Chris

A bit sad its not in JP as i love that more but that aside great pick and you will have fun with this one ^ ^

Cayn

I literally bought the rat-pack for this. I love this show. English or JP there is passion and amazement from bottom to the fucking top.

Boalex123

I am usually a JP fan but This one, code geass and a few others are an exception. The EN VA's did an excellent job on this one through and through.

Jasmin Jakobsen

One of my top anime of all time. But damn i just can't with dub. Enjoy guys <3

Drewby

If you watch Kill la Kill, made by the same studio iirc, it's another that's best in english language because the dialogue moves so fast.

Christo Badenhorst

Alicia, We are the last people you need to explain yourself for searching her up when you were younger... Pretty sure all your older audience did the exact same thing and your newer audience is going to now. lol

Snowy

Holy shit my second favorite anime lets fucking gooooo!

Warmachine 23

Yes! It's finally here, my favorite anime!

Supermew

Not the same studio, but a lot of the same team.

Sprocket

its finally here!!!!!!!

cry_w

Yeah, this one is definitely old school. Love it to bits.

Cayn

And its gone at 4.

Cayn

--Which ive canceled now.

Rabao

Yeah...the opening monologue sounding cringe/corny makes sense with the dub. There are lots of dramatics in the script that would probably sound less cringe/corny in the sub since non-Japanese speakers like the majority of us don't know wtf the actual VA quality is like lol.

Vincent Price

10:44 i can say this now without spoiling alicia "AND THE CURSE CONTINUES!!!"

Porpoise Power

You'll be a dentist... and a success!

John

Kamina IS just that GOATed with the Sauce.
