I'm not convinced that Gordon could be convinced to keep someone just for the drama... but the fact that Mary Ellen finally started getting a bunch of screen time and making mistakes in the dinner service certainly told me she was going before the subtitles spoiled it. As much as I do enjoy this show, those sorts of editing decisions are why I usually can't stand reality TV, I only enjoy these ones because I enjoy cooking so much.

Andrew didn't get to stay for drama, he got to stay because he showed improvement, first with keeping his mouth shut, but also while he did mess up veggies at the start, on the later part of the night he wasn't making mistakes anymore, meanwhile marry Ellen was getting worse and worse as the night went on and was the cause of the kitchen shutdown
