For those curious about the breakdown of how bad that is: 1080p 30fps video is between 3-6Mbps and Alicia frequently records around 45m-1h per 30m of video she reacts to on average. Even low balling everything to 3Mbps of recording for 30 minutes it would take 82m or 1h22m to upload the video (if all 1.1Mbps of Upload Speed is used at all times. I’d argue 2-3h would be more accurate. This Ted Talk was for the questions absolutely nobody was asking. Thank you for letting me waste a minute of everyone’s time. P.S. I hope it all gets better!

Is there some sort of known outage or throttling that’s going on with bell Canada? I also pay for symmetric gigabit fiber, but it’s usually working as expected or not at all. Never seen such throttling from a fiber provider, guessing it could also be that the local dslam/node has had someone screwing with it when hooking up/repairing one of your neighbors internet. That or there’s some damage to your fiber lines and it’s not transmitting within the ideal -12 to -27 dbm range. In which case you’d need a tech to measure it and replace all the lines leading to your ont. Anyways sorry to ramble, just thought I’d try to be somewhat helpful, as I used to primarily work in IT. Tho network issues were always the bane of my existence. As sometimes it’s none of the obvious troubleshooting issues and it is fully just an outage or issue with an ISPs infrastructure.

Well in Quebec province there seems to have been a vandalism attempt where someone burnt down some site and power lines. So my area has quite literally 0 internet both mobile and home. So I had to pack my things and move to another town just to get internet so I can be able to do my job.. but I'm not sure about other regions, if this had cascading effects or if it's separate issues compunding. All I know is that even before that, I've been having horrible wifi\internet lately for weeks preceding this and my home wifi mesh game is on point, but the Internet itself is unreliable. 30 hours later and I still have no Internet at my house when I check for the outage status ( -__- )
