Not so much the closed mindedness but I sympathise a lot with the other things with Andy. I go out of my way to preserve things so that I can always visit those times again, pictures, videos family heirlooms, keeping the past alive. If someone came and erased my videos, damaged the photos or repurposed the heirlooms I would be unforgiving. Also people just leaving you behind when you care so much about connection. Sure he could have visited them but most of them could have visited him, Greg definitely could have so he isn't solely or I would say even mostly at fault.

While Thanksgiving dont exist this was still obvious a Thanksgiving episode as this episode came out near thanks giving. The episode "three gems and a baby" is considered a Christmas episode even though Christmas isnt a thing in this universe. These reaso for this is cartoon network demanded some holliday specials so they worked around it by giving those episodes a holloday vibe with out technically being about said holliday

man. this one. i think it's a cute episode on its own, but like a week before it aired, trump was elected and nobody was in the mood for a "you gotta accept your racist uncle" message. it wasn't the show's fault, but what unfortunate timing. it's not a bad ep, i always like to see lapis and peri at the barn and i'll listen to carl from aqua teen hunger force any day of the week.

honestly when the subtittles get like this turn them off, they become more distracting then helpful. For me at least, I can't not read them.

Yeah, it clearly is meant for an audience that had more patience than is currently reasonable to expect, about a brand of conservative that is currently in vanishingly short supply. Steven Universe in general has a lot of good messages that are very hard to make work (which is what makes trying so noble, but sets a high bar that people often can't reach).

I remember this episode being pretty controversial in the fanbase due to the timing of when it came out. It’s a nice message but it didn’t land very well when irl conservatives were escalating in terrible behaviour.

Just a hint for the subtitles: make bigger adjustments. The adjustment is in MILLISECONDS. If the subtitles are off enough for you to notice, I guarentee it's going to be >1 second (1000 milliseconds). Instead of going 100, 200, 300, etc., just go straight to 1000 and see if that makes it better, then straight to 2000, etc.

I think there might also be some confusion with positive and negative delay. If I understand it right, negative numbers actually means they pop up earlier, because the positive number is adding a delay to the subtitle, and I think that might be counterintuitive for her.
