I feel the same way I did when this chapter dropped back then: if the scene is left to interpretation, I choose to chalk Ruby's behavior up to the delusions of a child, overwhelmed with resolved grief and adoration for the one person who showed her any kindness in her previous life, and Aqua, the rational adult in the room who understands her feelings but also understands the glaringly obvious societal boundaries between them. To this point Ruby has been an innocent child at heart through and through, and I don't see it as anything more then innocence, relief, and adoration dialed up to a 12/10 on a child who died previously at like, what, 12? 14? Especially on someone who she to this point she thought was perma-dead. Much in the same way no one takes a kid seriously when they say they wanna marry insert grown-ass adult here when they say it, I frankly think it didn't require a whole scene of explaining and that's why both in story and in show they didnt, but I guess I was wrong. Honestly the whole thing frustrates me on where the audience took it on what was genuinely a heartfelt reunion and payoff for hundreds of chapters of waiting for the Chekov's Gun to go off.

Yep, same reaction to…that…scene. If they wanted to go in that strange direction, they needed to do something with it. Not just transition to the aftermath with nothing addressed. Leaves a very weird feeling

Oh man. It's all downhill from here. The anime does do a good job at elevating the more mod moments of the manga so maybe it wouldn't reach the pits of rock bottom. But my god it was bad in the manga. The incest stuff was tech foreshadowed since chapter 1 but I think most people had too much faith in the author lol. . .

I understand why people got mad and weirded out by what ruby said but they also forget that while Serina technically reincarnated into Ruby she is basically living her life for the first time since as Serina she spent her whole life in a hospital so she still has the same mentality as a young teenager with a crush. Plus due to the fact that theyre both reincarnators they never saw each other as "siblings" but unlike Ruby Gojou is a grown adult if I remember he even had a small existential crisis at the beginning where he couldnt differentiate between who he was wether he was "aqua" or "gojou"

Welcome to what people consider the best but also worst reveal in Oshi no Ko. They've finally revealed their identities to each others, things are going good and tension is high, exitement is in the air..... And then there's the incest.

Ok well i'm not gonna try to defend the now obvious incest plotline in the story cause we're not blind. But they way I see it is that ruby in her heart still is sarina and after learning who aqua is sees him only as Dr. Goro Does that fix the incest? Obviously not but it at least helps me believe that shes not seeing him as her brother aqua and instead as the doctor. This is most likely the greatest huff of copium (AtLeastToAnyoneWhoHasentSeenTheManga) Also for anyone who is complaining about this, you clearly didn't put any brain power into thinking about what was gonna happen when they learned each other's identity.

Ok well to be fair who DIDN'T see this coming. Sarina was so obviously in love with the dude so once their identities were exposed it was very obvious what would happen. Despite being siblings in this life, they are still technically the same people they were before they died

Well yeah, the series has been very clear that both Aqua and Ruby have never mentally seen themselves as Aqua and Ruby, they still think of themselves being who they were in their past life.

Noway those people where ever fans, the most telegraphed predictable thing in fiction predictably happening "ruined" the Manga for them? How sucky could one be at media literacy? Why were they reading it in the first place.. Its not even anything to do with liking the direction. I have no opinion on it, except that it is hilarious. In general but..? How can something that so obviously was going to be addressed "ruin" things? Ignoring the elephant in the room would be worse by orders of magnitude and a total betrayal of the characters. Especially and specifically Ruby

Reminder that the scene where she says "I'm sixteen" is in her head. Aqua is not making moves on his sister, and it would make more sense that Ruby will get over her current infatuation with the fact that Aqua is Sensei.

I still struggle with who is the more evil character in this series - Kamiki, for obvious reasons... or Sarina's mom, who coped with Sarina slowly dying from an incurable disease by pretending she didn't exist when she needed her the most. And Miyako continues to prove over and again that she's a queen, with the most valid 10 years worth of pent-up crashout getting released all at one shot... .then making Ichigo play the role of President/Errand Boy to make up for the years when he abandoned Ichigo Pro, leaving her to run it all alone.
