Aw, Fern looks at Frieren like how Heiter saw Himmel. "It's what Himmel the hero would do." "It's what Ms. Frieren would do."

If I had a spell to make perfect pancakes every time I'd eat nothing but pancakes for 3 weeks straight before dying from eating too many pancakes. But I'd die happy.

Artemis

Now we must sadly wait until next year for more frieren

I remember when I first read the manga, and now again, thinking about... Its been 200 years? Why isn´t that a stone bridge or something? Like, he lives on a mountain top. That wood gotta be important. Or did he finish it in 50 years, and then spend the next 150 maintaining it? What are the logistics of that bridge? Great episode! Adore it. But like, what is the timeline of that bridge? Cause people IRL have build bigger bridges quicker.

The Shadow Monarch

Season 3 has been announced to be released in October 2027, in Frieren’s words mere 19 months 😂

He was building it firstly over a 3km canyon with high winds, secondly, he was doing it solo for the first like 170 or so years (assuming that based off when Himmel and co were there), and lastly, he was struggling with funding since it was a solo venture not a government commission. Wooden bridges are much easier (and safer) to maintain than stone bridges basically just needing an inspection every so often to make sure there isn't any rot or warping of the structure, and if there is, all that needs to be done is have the offending timber removed, brace the existing structure, and replaced with a new timber. A stone bridge would be harder, and more expensive to build and maintain over such a precarious location (again, 3km drop). If a stone starts weathering to the point of failure, especially a keystone, the entire bridge would need to come down, and be totally rebuilt if it didn't just collapse one day with a bunch of people on it. Basically, wood is the safest, and most economic material to build that kind of bridge out of (IIRC, the oldest wood bridge that still exist and is used today that was built in like 1333)

from what i understand the next arc is one of the best in the whole series

DoktorEvil

The faces on the bird-monsters look a lot like shoebills, the most Metal of all birds. It's going to be LONG wait till next October... but the Golden Land arc will be epic.

Think my first reply got swallowed, so apologies if it turns up and I reply twice. but, but yeah that makes a lot of sense. Do know of some ancient bridges. Did also consider a lot of your points on wood, but was thinking whatever stone would be better considering the Monsters. But you make some very good points. As for the time, I do still question how long it seemed to take him. Even if it was solo. But I could buy most of the time being spent on getting materials up there and acquiring funds for them... Now I wanna do a dwarf crafter who is taking a break from his grand construction. While the trees he planted grows big enough for him to use. Should only take some 50 more years.

your understanding is correct

This an an amazing season, especially for how short it was. And the best part is that they've already announced Season 3 for October of 2027.

Dillon Hansel

Better than waiting 5+ years just to have another season announced and then another 3 before that season releases. So happy that Frieren isn't stuck in Production Purgatory.

I('m) THINK(ing), SO I'M HIM! Denken = Thinking in German As always this season of Frieren!: ABSOLUTE 🙌 \_🗿_/ CINEMA

Kyle_116

It was a nice parallel from Fern. Throughout the series we're constantly hearing "It's what Himmel would do." Now Frieren has become that kind of person to Fern.

The slightest change in Frieren's expression says everything

Oh, man, my heart when Fern said "It's what Ms. Frieren would do." Throughout the series, the phrase "It's what Himmel the Hero would have done" has been repeated as a reason for why people, especially Frieren, choose to do selfless, good things. But Fern hasn't met Himmel the Hero - instead, the person she looks up to for her values and behaviour is the one seeking to embody Himmel the most, her teacher and best friend, Frieren. It just shows how much Frieren has truly changed, to the point that she can inspire people the same way Himmel once did.
