I think you guys just didn't like the guy because you are seeing and hearing his character from Dexter. I didn't think he was that bad in this episode. He admitted he wrote the book to draw him out and felt appropriately guilty. I like you guys but it does feel like you two need to have someone to hate each episode.

To defend the prank at the end, yall should be around people who are military trained. They pull some of THE MOST fucked up pranks in the world. Honestly the one that Max was describing didn’t sound terrible lmao. He could’ve been tied a chair attached to the roof of an aircraft hanger and then forgotten about until the next morning for instance. (For legal reasons, we pretend this is not a true story )

I still don't understand though. Even if the show didn't mention his last victim which was the 12 real old, how would it be romanticising him? That's the thing I don't get. Complaining about his younger victim being overshadowed by the other ones, I get that, but how is it romanticising him?

Hey hate to be that guy I don't know anything about the Bundy case but in general Bite Mark evidence is incredibly unreliable and on the verge of being junk science. It is general only ever any good when the teeth are truly bad and the bite marks are very deep both of which sound like the case here, even then there are questions about its reliability.

I think it has to do more with him not having enough things to do that another character could do, other then writing the book, to counter how unhelpful and not wanting to be a team player until towards the end. I can definitely say they overrated him, but its not like he's much to like if you really disliking him refusing to give information and just going "you're wrong" and giving no suggestions afterwards. It also doesn't help that he didn't really prove he needed to be on this case with the team to solve it.
