Gideon directly calling out the dad in this episode was lowkey funny to me tbh

Happygas_95

I think the Father suspected that the son killed the mother but had no real evidence and therefore covinced himself that his son would not do such a thing.

17:18 Sad fact about Master of Disguise is that they were filming the Turtle Club scenes when the 9/11 airplane hijacking happened

i think it is implied that the father suspected that the son did it, but decided to turn a blind eye to the fact. He probably felt that she deserved it and didnt get him therapy because of not wanting to push his fun further down a bad path or have it come up. he just wanted to have a quiet life. also Ant is right, it was also probably toxic masculinity thing. this was in the 2000s and the father was at least 60 so he was born in the 40s and 50s? just tough it out kid.

I don't know if it's a Patreon update, or if Alicia is using a different site, but I really like the new player.

I am a little confused on why they had to do investigations into the past stuff. Like the dude is killing women "now". Why are you trying to research a car crash that happened two and a half decades ago to see if he also killed his mother?

Darc Hart94

Especially because the son was 10. Not many people would suspect a 10 year old of murder unless they were showing the signs of psychopathy or sociopathy

BirthdayParty

Well, they are profilers, no? If this guy killed his mother, then they can gain more information about his profile, and then they can begin to predict his methodologies and then his next move.

Darc Hart94

Except within the same hour of them finding info about the crash and the mother being drowned they heard about him snatching another woman and driving to the closest body of water. Idunno it felt like they didn't need that info

DiabloAnos

Wow new Ant lore to prove he built stronger than a lot of people.

Liberty

Except that without knowing that he had a problem with his mother (because she was cheating) and that she died in a crash (which they wouldn't have looked into if they ruled out checking on the dynamic between the mother and son) they wouldn't know where to focus their search - the water nearest to where his mother was killed. That was integral information that helped them save that woman's life. And even if they got nothing from it, they wouldn't KNOW they'd get nothing from it, but in the case that they DO they still need to check the lead. So many times something small breaks a case, especially in shows like this.

BirthdayParty

I don't think the father was that type of toxic masculinity. He definitely had a "boys will be boys" mindset, but the point made over and over is that the guy was passive aggressive and impotent - he knew the mom was cheating, he wanted to kill her, but he didn't even divorce her. So absolutely believe he didn't put the kid in therapy - both because he wanted to ignore and get over what happened as quickly as possible (basically pretending things were back to normal) and because he didn't want his son to admit to what he did.

it's because Patreon has been acting a fool with the streamable videos, so she's been using uploading natively to Patreon. It's happened before. I presume streamable is cheaper though so this is probably temporary.

Elias

Hope Ant is doing well. He's been a bit more subdued then usual these last few episodes. Nothing wrong with that! Always happy to have Ant around, just hope he's doing okay.

I'm still patiently waiting for more dexter with pom.

PokéBoyBB

It's so easy to call the father fucked in the head, cause he is, but gosh- I don't know what I'd do if my (hypothetical) child killed a person, not out of self defense, but on their own accord. How would you even approach dealing with that?

ElementalTem

Gregory was played by the same guy as a guy on House who believed orange juice could cure polio

Find Nemo

Poor guy had such a horrible mother

Otac Aldwin

15 seconds in, there was nothing on that fork and I find that personally hilarious
