MorbiDevi

slavicandsapphic

This episode lowkey broke my heart a little bit 😭

Paradox Entertainment

The fact that the family's name is Trejo and they didn't cast Danny Trejo as a part of it is criminal

Cody Dennings

IDK, a lot of people in the states know Spanish. It's not that unusual to find someone that can especially if you're looking at people who go for higher education as second languages are a thing that look really good on resume's and Spanish is already compulsory for at least elementary school (at least when I went) so I don't think Elle knowing Spanish is a big enough stretch to be considered "forced". That part of the convo just felt weird.

While I wish we got more hells kitchen. I'm good with this at least

Flann

Yeah, I'm all the way up in the north in the Midwest (very far away from the border) and everyone in my class growing up had to take two years of Spanish in Middle School. Then once we got to Highschool it broadened & we we're able to choose our own language choice but a large portion stuck with Spanish.

Katz Kreationz

The main cop got pulled aside to tell him about the new victim, so he probably missed part of the briefing.

Harus Streit

could say it takes a criminal mind.

Honestly when it comes to death in tv shows, the only ones I can't handle are infants. There are even some episodes of my favorite show I have to skip because a baby ends up dying and it just bums me out

Pepe D. Silvia

I get what ant means about how forced and off things felt because I get that feeling all the time when ever a tv show I watch does something similar also It would be amazing if Alicia reacted to serial killers mini doc that are on YouTube especially seeing as how she zeroed in on the similarities this episode had to the real case of the granny killer especially the part in where cops would arrest every trans and gay man that they would come across in hopes to getting the killer as well as the strong homophobia .

20:05 Hotchner's actor is notoriously difficult to work with on set due to his volatile temper and constant arguments with the crew

Grandmasta

That's sad to hear, too few shows have a cast that genuinely likes and cares for each other, the show, and the fandom. I can honestly only think of two off the top of my head: Psych, and the One Piece Live Action.

Kage Uzumaki

I don’t know why someone speaking Spanish would be forced to

Omegalock

I expected more of a reaction to the women cutting off the rapist’s dick. I don’t know they missed that or not lol

Liberty

I think you missed what Ant was actually saying. He was talking about how suddenly and out of the blue they introduced Elle being able to speak Spanish and how coincidental it is that it happened in the episode where needing to communicate in Spanish was necessary. I don't think it would have been an issue if it had been introduced earlier in the series, but that it just so happened to be this episode made it feel very "OH BY THE WAY I SPEAKA DE SPANISHO!" and blatantly forced in as an explanation. Hell they could have just not addressed it at all, too. That would have worked better, honestly - because duh, of course some of them should be able to speak a language that is common in their country when they have to go all over the place to look into crimes. It's actually less believable that only one of them can considering the tenure they've had in the field. (We can forgive Spencer, that boy has been hitting all the books on all the things - he's got enough on his load to learn, but you telling me Hotch hasn't a rudimentary grasp when having to deal with crimes all over? C'mon.)

Liberty

NCIS and Leverage are two others. I highly recommend Leverage, btw. Shorter series (5 seasons + a follow up series of 3 seasons) with a found family who work to help others (and make a bit of cash on the side~). There's a hint of polycule there, too~

Cody Dennings

When and why would it have come up before? Nobody asked and they didn't need anyone to speak it prior to this. IDK about you, but I don't exactly tell every coworker everything that I do.

Jack Mingle

I live in northern Canada and have learned Spanish, I'm not fluent or anything but I can understand and respond to most things. I also worked at a hotel so you get a lot of different languages.

I have no idea what ANT is on about with Elle and her speaking Spanish ... They're in Mexico. So, since she can speak Spanish, it makes sense for her to do so when appropriate. When they were questioning that daughter, Elle spoke Spanish because it's a safe assumption that not everyone in Mexico speaks English. But as soon as the girl showed she could speak English, Elle switched up so Morgan could be included in the conversation. Elle isn't my favourite character in the series either, but these two have a weird dislike toward her for no real reason.

PokéBoyBB

Honestly I think you guys find Elle's Spanish speaking ability being "forced" in the Mexico episode is because all the women in the group are shafted and the men get most of the spotlight. It's not forced, it's a natural skill to bring forward when dealing with a foreign victims who might not know English. It's just that serialized TV was unfortunately a bit misogynistic, especially back then.

teatus

supernaturals cast got along well if i remember right.
