Yep! Shin was one the main reasons Lihua's son died and she almost killed her second baby before they were even born.

I love how this episode shows that there was an in universe reason that all of Lihua's ladies-in-waiting were so incompetent. The author is so good at bringing back little details that at first didn't seem important but were actually crucial details that fleshed out the story's world building.

A great detail is that it was Shin who threw away Maomao’s warning about the lead face powder in the first episode but since she looks so similar to Lihua, a new viewer would assume that it was Lihua herself that ignored Maomao’s warning and her son died as a result
